Newbies very welcome provided they meet the entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

OP posts:

I PIMPed yesterday Happy (well actually POAS as it was a First Response I had lying around) & it came back negative. Unsurprising if I'm only 9DPO but FF reckoned yesterday that I was 14DPO! FF is definitely female with the prerogative to change her mind at will. I need to bulk buy some ICs if this is going to happen every cycle!

happylass · 04/04/2013 13:54

Hmmm Frog I'm not sure what FF is playing at sometimes. This is only my 2nd cycle of using it although I've been temping for longer. Last month my crosshairs moved almost daily - although to be fair I was ill. This month it has put OV at cd12 which is about right but predicted a 22 day cycle, wtf?!? My LP is always 13-14 days. Anyhows, are you planning to PIMP anytime soon? This thread is seriously lacking in action of late!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 13:49

Maybe FF is more optimistic than me & thinks I'm having an implantation dip?! That would be about right for 9DPO but not likely if O had been any earlier. Why did none of my friends with babies every tell me this could be so complicated? Probably because a lot of them instadiffed the minute they came off the pill

Right also off to check for AF for the tenth time today

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:43

Well Frog, I honestly have no idea why your temperature today has rejiggled your crosshairs. Where's Merk? She's good at analysing charts!

I think temperatures are meant to stay relatively high if you are pg. (Which is another reason why I suspect AF is winging her way to me right now; I often get a slow temp drop in the days leading up to it.)

I'm off to check for spotting for the fifteenth time today.

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 13:30

Woop Pip. It's great that it's so soon.

Happy cycle has been 25-31 days since i came off pill to TTC. The data I input to FF gave me an average of 28 days but it's now predicting 35 days (presumably to give me a 14 day LP) which I find unlikely. I don't remember them ever being that long pre-pill.

Boodle I tried discarding the CD18 temp (which was taken an hour after normal time) but still get dashed crosshairs on CD21. Would love to understand how the temp dip this morning made it move my O from CD15 to CD21. Oh well will try harder with the OPKs & temps next cycle!

If I was feeling optimistic I'd say that the all over the place-ness means I must be upduffed but I've got a feeling that your temps stay high in that case.

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:29

Oh, and Frog, if I wasn't on cycle 20, I might be able to convince myself that my PMS is actually early pregnancy symptoms. I've learnt from bitter experience that this is highly unlikely! 6 days to fertility consultant though.

Barking, reading my way back; I know what you mean about expectations regarding the appointment. I've got 1 shot at Clomid followed by twin conception in my head and it's going to be a real shock when it doesn't happen. , why do we do this to ourselves?

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 13:05

Wow, Pip! They don't keep you waiting, do they? That's really good news.

Frog, your chart is beyond me. I think it's going to be much easier to spot a pattern once you start with your proper BBT thermometer though. That high temp on CD18 is a bit of an anomaly. Have you tried discarding it to see what your chart does without it?

happylass · 04/04/2013 13:03

Shock at your chart Frog!! How long is your cycle usually??
Yey at your news Pip. Exciting times Smile
Cats is the teacher someone you can talk to? Someone who would welcome your advice? If not I would definitely speak to someone more senior, at least then you've done your bit and can't be accused of turning a blind eye.

Pipbin · 04/04/2013 12:53

Cats. I would talk to the phase leader and get them to maybe drop in. You can't not say anything, this is a year of education, it's important.

In other news I got the initial consultation appointments through for the IVF. First one is next Tuesday!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 12:48

Am jealous of your neat textbook chart Boodle compared to my amateur first attempt. I don't think O can be any later than FF says either. PMS symptoms can be v similar to early pg ones... Wink

If any berries really want to test their charting analysis skills try this horror. No idea what happened to my temp today as I took it twice to be sure & the second time it was even lower! FF (& only in research mode as in advanced it gives me nothing) has so far suggested O on CD15, CD17 & now CD21. I tried adding the alcohol & illness today in case it took it into account! I have got a more accurate BBT thermometer for next month but wanted to start it on a new cycle.

Cats no idea what you should do from a teacher perspective but from a (step) parent's view I would be horrified & would want something done. This bloke is either totally in the wrong job or has some underlying issues at home or something. I would suggest going to the deputy (or phase leader? I have no idea what that is) & stressing your concerns.

Boodlebum · 04/04/2013 12:06

Hello Berries, old and new (and well done happylass for your recruitment efforts)! I've missed you this last week or so. I'm off again in the morning until Monday so I'm getting on now whilst I can!

Am picking my way through the last few days of posts but must reply to Charming straight away. That teacher sounds awful. How often do teachers get observed at your school? In your position, I'd be tempted to speak to the phase leader or the deputy. Alternatively, are you 'pally' with any of the other teachers? If so, could you recommend they do a 'drop in' subject observation? (If you're allowed to do that at your school?) It would be especially good if it was the ICT/music/PSHE/history/geography coordinator as there's a good chance he wouldn't be doing what his timetable says he should be doing!

In other news, I think I'm 9DPO and I haven't had any spotting this month; hurrah! (If only for the fact that I hate the spotting - it's disgusting.) I say think because FF placed ovulation on CD14, which is early for me. Also, I got my positive OPK on CD14, and usually I ovulate 1-2 days AFTER the +OPK. However, I can't really see that ovulation could have been any later, based on my chart? What do you think, Berries? Still with me or I have I descended into the unintelligible world of TTC gobbledygook?

I should add, all my PMS symptoms are in action, so I have no doubt AF will be along soon. Just intrigued by a slightly new chart pattern!

CharmingCats · 04/04/2013 11:26

So, I'm a TA with teaching experience. The class I'm working with are very well behaved and very good academically. I've been in this class since September. The teacher is in his second year of teaching, but has done other things, so is older than me. From a conversation with the deputy in October, I know I was put with him to 'support his teaching'. The main issues are:

  • poor time management - always late for assembly/lunch/play/home time
  • poor subject knowledge - parent helper has corrected him on more than one occasion, as have I
  • poor preparation - he regularly leaves the kids to do nothing while he makes a resource to use for that lesson and gets me to photocopy it while he teaches the next bit, but doesn't get to use it, as he talks too much
  • doesn't cover the curriculum - no music or circle time since September, no ICT since January, regularly doesn't teach topic
  • whole PPA session is RE!!!
  • lack of professionalism with staff and parents - he has derogatory nicknames for staff he doesn't like and uses them in front of other staff and parents

I could go on, but won't. My dilemma is - what do I do about this? The children are making progress (not entirely sure how), but are not getting the full curriculum. I see my options as:

  • do nothing (it's gone beyond that for me)
  • speak to him (would have to think carefully about how to put it)
  • speak to the phase leader
  • speak to deputy
  • put it in writing

As I said, feel free to ignore this. Teachers and non teachers. But, I would value any opinions as the berries are my go-to girls for everything!

CharmingCats · 04/04/2013 11:10

It's AF Grin

So, I'm on month 8 of ttc and cycle 4. FF is obviously relieved too.

I've been looking through my books (one of them is 'what to expect before you're expecting') and there is a suggestion that, like temping, opks and the cbfm can give you readings after the event. So, cbfm says 'high', you should dtd then rather than wait for peak and that you should have dtd the before you get your smiley opk. This is from 'the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant'. It would make sense in my case, as we have always dtd on the day of the smiley or the day after and no success.
I have decided that this cycle, I'm going whole hog. Acupuncture, cbfm, temping, opks, cm, dtd 2-3 per week as soon as AF goes.

cherry, did they apologise for not sending the letter? or at least promise to send it by special delivery there and then? Idiots. Glad you're making the most of your time off and going for counselling. Out of interest, are you still going for acupuncture? I know you enjoyed it and rated your therapist.

Going to write a separate post about my teacher.... feel free to ignore it.

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 10:39

Welcome cate I know what you mean about just wanting AF to arrive so you can move on. Wonder what the record is for the number of times you can leave your desk to go to the toilet to check. My colleagues are going to think I'm mad!

Cate555 · 04/04/2013 09:10

Morning everyone thanks for the welcome.
Barking, I'm on C3 although this is CD35! can't understand what's going on, wish AF would just arrive so I can get cracking again
Bajas & Pipbin great to see some fellow 38ers feel like I'm in great company. Smile

cherrycoconut · 04/04/2013 08:38

Come on girly, we'll get through this.

Bajas I doth protest Wink my emotional state is many things just now but I'd like it on record for my own sanity that miserableness is not one of them. Not yet anyhoo. I'll take your kind words all the same though cheers. Smile

Frog nothing to say but arrrgh!

Bunnygirlie · 04/04/2013 08:27

Morning! Not another bloomin teacher Wink

I had the most hideous nights sleep, my mind just won't stop racing, please berries keep me sane!!!

happylass · 04/04/2013 08:15

Another teacher Bajas! We are in the majority here. I'm in the second week of my Easter hols so will be very Envy of you all on Monday when I'm back in work!! Sorry things aren't moving fast enough Cherry. I'd get down there armed with an envelope and stamp and offer to post it myself!!
Lol at Merks. I'm expecting to see "What to Expect when you're not fucking expecting" by Prof Merkin and the Elderberries on the book shelves very soon!

Frogcatcher · 04/04/2013 07:55

Sympathy to all those feeling rubbish & to bajas for AF if it is she. FF & my body have joined forces to have a right laugh with me this month & punish me for my inaccurate temping. I got an accurate below cover line dip today which made FF move my hatched cross hairs from CD15 to CD21! WTF! That puts me only 9dpo & predicts a 35 day cycle which seems long for me. I guess only the arrival of AF or a BFP is going to resolve this one. On a +ve note CD21 was a better shag week! Wink

Bajas · 04/04/2013 07:41

Good luck with the house move pip

I hope you're right about Friday but the sore biobs, cramps and weepiness tell me Af is on her way. Absolutely gutted as I had a good feeling this month. Cried my eyes out on dh this morning before he headed off to work. I'm on holidays this week (teacher) and it's been thoroughly miserable with heavy cold and now Af on her way. Sad

At least I have massage and lunch organised for later with a friend which should cheer me up

cherry sorry you're feeling miserable.

CharmingCats · 03/04/2013 22:42

No rabbit smiley

CharmingCats · 03/04/2013 22:41

The teacher is an idiot, not cherry, obvs. [bugrin]

CharmingCats · 03/04/2013 22:40

argh!
I don't know if this is af.....but what else could it be? No spotting on pad, just when I wipe, and even then not every time. Only red blood once, the rest has been brown cm. I think she's just drawing it out to make up for the three I've missed.

Hello newbies and welcome back to the wanderers. I will give my list update tomorrow once I have decided what this is on the loo roll. cherry. I give you permission to be hopeful.
I will summon the energy to dis tell you about my teacher tomorrow. Idiot.

Bunnygirlie · 03/04/2013 22:34

I know cherry I think I'm losing the plot, need my berries to talk some sense into me!!!

cherrycoconut · 03/04/2013 22:28

Hey Bunny you're so nuts, makes me laugh Wink I'd take any date at all!
