Morning berries!

Home Hollywood for Bunny Grin

Been quiet here due to manic day at work for me yesterday followed by impromptu drinks & pub quiz with DP & a couple of his work colleagues. Guess I'm technically in the 2WW now as CD23 tho have no idea when O was (if at all as temps are higher now but there was a dip the other day & FF hasn't given me any crosshairs yet) & whether I'm in with a chance of a BFP. There was a bit of a gap in DTD action which may have been at the critical time. I've going to try & refrain from testing until AF is later than she has ever been to save money & sanity!!

Our house is now on the market though so we're going full steam ahead with the Kevin McCloud method of conception. Had to pick up the Conceive Plus off the floor & hide the thermometer prior to a viewing this morning!

Grin bunny

Ever had a bit of self-erm-waxing when that's happened with the short n curlies? Blush

EasterBunnyGirlie · 28/03/2013 08:31

Morning! Here's something to make you chuckle, went to take my knickers off this morning and wondered why they wouldn't come off, must have been wriggling in the night as my pantyliner (god I hate that word) was folded in half and stuck to me! Ouch!!! Blush

happylass · 28/03/2013 06:18

Morning Berries. Thought I'd catch up on what I've missed seen as I'm awake at silly o'clock for no reason whatsoever and waiting for DP to wake up so I can jump his bones as its the middle of shag week and we were too tired last night
Sorry to all those who have had bad news/been visited by the evil witch.
Glad things are looking more positive for you Cherry. Whereabouts in Wales are you headed? I live in the south but we're off to the west coast on Saturday for some much needed R n R Smile

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 23:16

Wtf cherry?!! Who asked you that?! I don't know the legal bits but as far as I understand you don't need to divulge anything. If you need a doc's note, you can ask this to be really vague too.

barking that's crap news to deal with. Definitely time for your turn soon.

bunny good re cocktails! Maybe my naked shimmy killed the thread?

cherrycoconut · 27/03/2013 23:14

See, you DO do positive thinking Bunny! Me I'm looking for the silver lining and embracing the red wine at the moment. For it's antioxidant purposes of course. Cough.

cherrycoconut · 27/03/2013 23:11

Thx Bunny out of interest, does anyone know how much you have to divulge to work? I know my current emotional instability (for someone usually pretty stoic about life) is akin to someone going through something much worse. I know they're worried for me and want to act accordingly. I know she had no social skills But can they really ask questions like 'are you worried you're going to die?'

EasterBunnyGirlie · 27/03/2013 23:05

(obviously my last holiday I can get hammered on Wink)

EasterBunnyGirlie · 27/03/2013 23:05

Here I have decided that not getting my BFP this month is for the better, got big work piss up in April so couldn't be sober for that and get away with it and the holiday in may so I can have a few cocktails!!!

EasterBunnyGirlie · 27/03/2013 23:00

cherry that sounds good (apart from HR lady), a week off will do you the world of good, you and DH!

P.s. do you realise we're are'nt as chatty as we once were, the last thread filled up in 7 days, this one is just trickling along!

cherrycoconut · 27/03/2013 23:00

Tough call Barking but stay positive, sounds like you're just a few weeks behind on your own journey. Twins you say eeek!

cherrycoconut · 27/03/2013 22:50

lol at thundercat! I think you're right though Pip, I've not spoken about my predicament to many people and yet two have had friends who've been through similar. Infertility struggles to conceive are definitely more common than you think.

Me, I'm still pretty wobbly and work is properly tough, especially this mornings interrogation by insensitive HR lady which made me sob my heart out. Aaargh, really didn't want to do that. Around and about at home I'm pretty much coping thanks to the support of DH and a couple of good friends which has been magical to rely on. Add a bit of pressure into the mix at work though and I feel like my head is so full it's going to burst.

So today I've written my task list up for my boss, briefed everyone, turned off my work phone and stepped away for a week. DH and I have decided to take an impromptu trip to the coast for a few days and head to Wales tomorrow; I can't wait to get on those deserted beaches, hike up mountains, feel the wind on my face and let go a bit.

Cats I'm totally with you on playing the waiting game, think I'd hold out if you can!

barkingtreefrog · 27/03/2013 22:39

Another friend is rumoured to be pg. With twins. Not heard it officially yet. I know they'd been trying as it was this friend that DP talked to about the SA only to find he'd done it the previous month. So they're a month ahead of us. I'm driving myself mad with trying to work out how far along she could be, as we've got our fertility clinic appointment in 3 weeks so they can't have been seen that long ago, surely they must have got pg before the appointment? But twins would be a bit of a coincidence? I don't know her well enough to just ask her direct out of the blue and although when I told her we'd been ttc she said they had been to, she didn't comment much further.
My turn soon please Sad . Somehow I'm doubly jealous at the idea of twins even though I only want one child!!

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 22:33

Those people deserve a slap with a large sausage, charming

CharmingCats · 27/03/2013 22:30

Sorry, am grumpy today. Going to bed now.

CharmingCats · 27/03/2013 22:29

Hmmm, or people that tell you to enjoy practising....at least that's my experience of women at work.

Pipbin · 27/03/2013 22:25

Its funny that when you start to talk about it so many people have a fertility story to tell.

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 21:39

Wow imagine infertility being shameful. Altho I guess a remnant of that must remain through a lot of cultures otherwise we'd all be much more aware of it like it sounds like it is in Sweden? It's a but like miscarriage I think- sadly it's so much more common than you'd ever know until you delve under the surface.

Sounds like a good chat tho pip

Pipbin · 27/03/2013 21:16

So today I was talking to one of the ladies at work and she said, 'so you are off to a bigger house, will you be starting a family?' To which I replied 'well it's not as easy as all that.' She then went on to tell me that her twins were the third attempt at IVF. The interesting thing was that she had her boys when she was living in Sweden and she said that most mothers there leave having babies until they are over 35 so everyone has some kind of fertility treatment and everyone is very open about it. However, she is Serbian by birth and was getting married there when she found out she was finally pregnant and wanted to tell everyone. But her family wouldn't let her because they felt that being infertile was shameful!

Then later in the day I was buying a couple of bits at the self service till in Waitrose when I saw my fertility specialist was at the next till!

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 21:05

Sounds good lady. Good to have a plan though- you can always test a bit early if you get the urge!

CharmingCats · 27/03/2013 20:54

No worries, thunder - don't expect you to keep track of my cycles too! Your rwmblings make absolute sense. I can't tell you how I'd feel about a chemical, as I've not had a sniff of a bfp and there is a part of me that wants to see one! I totally agree about the healthy pregnancy though.

So, to sum up, I think I'll wait til Saturday 6th April, 14/15 dpo, as there's no reason to not have the dildocam. Just have to control myself til then, especially as I'll be on holiday from tomorrow afternoon.

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 20:03

D'oh! Sorry charming being soooooooo slow. Wot an idiot.

So ov hopefully happened Fri or Sat. People do get bfps from early like 8/9dpo but 14 or later would be a safer bet not to get a false negative. It depends in part how you feel about BFNs and if you did get a faint line but it turned out to be a cp. can you predict how you'd feel?

For example, I know my af is due 14-16days after ov now. I wouldn't test til after 14 days nowadays- that's because after my mc I feel strongly that I'm not just after a bfp, I want a whole healthy pregnancy and a real healthy baby at the end of it (sounds obvious but this is a change in reaction for me) so I'm not keen to rush getting the second line if it's not going to work out.
Hope ramblings make some sense....

CharmingCats · 27/03/2013 19:40

Thunder, AF was due in January but never showed! I'm on cd100+, so not sure at all, hence not knowing when to test.

Thundercatsarego · 27/03/2013 19:32

Hi charming. When is af due?

Dildocam alone is fine if you're diffed- they can use it as an early scan method.

CharmingCats · 27/03/2013 19:27

That's great news, bunny. And cherry, I'm glad that your boss was understanding - takes the pressure off a little.

OK....me, me, me.... when do I pimp with hope of an accurate result? Pos OPK on Thursday just gone, ov pain on Friday. Do I assume ov on Friday? As I don't know when af is officially late, should I wait 14dpo? I have my dildocam on Tuesday, which would be 9dpo, if I take Friday as ov. Could I expect a true reading with fmu on that day? Is it safe to have the test if I am pg by some miracle?
