Brown discharge/spotting before period?

Hi there - I'm curious about this too. Last month I had spotting 2 days before AF started, this month it should be a week until AF and I've got some brownish spotting? Unless AF arrives in the next few days, then I guess I have my answer!

Well this month for me it was definitely AF as its properly started now. I've never had implantation bleeding before (4 pregnancies but 3 miscarriages) But i know friends who have. I have had breakthrough brown spotting before especially when my cycles were trying to get back to normal after mc and I think its hormonal because my pcos causes random surges etc. although not really sure! Has anyone who gets this regularly still conceived with it?

By the way I have PCOS too tea oh and also a friend was telling me she had this when she got her BFP so implantation bleeding does exist (I wasn't sure if it was a total rumour and false hope!)

I'm interested too - I do get brown spotting sometimes but now I'm on my first cycle of clomid and ovulating, was hoping it would stop. However I've got it again, it started for me 6dpo. Trying not to get excited about implantation bleeding. I did just wonder if it's the egg being fertilised but then a VERY early mc, it's trying to implant but doesn't manage it? Seems likes it could be all kinds of things though, I've googled like crazy and can't find out for sure...it's def old blood though.

I've never had this pre ttc, but the last 4/5 cycles, I've had this.

1st time I got all excited thinking implantation bleed - now I ignore it and think fuck off AF - (sorry for the strong language, but that really is what I think!!)

I'd be very interested to know what it is and why it has started happening?!

I get this damn near every time before AF.
I am a long way down the ttc road. I had been told countless times that this was no problem at all and no barrier to conception but I never really believed it. However I had a lap and dye done a while ago and they confirmed that all my lady bit are just fine, except for my blocked tubes but that wouldn't cause the spotting.

Bumping for you as I'd like to know too! I was hoping mine (which started on Sunday) was implantation bleeding but today got heavier and still bfn so think its the start of AF although still brown. I have pcos though which I think could explain it although Dr Google can't really explain it. Have you had it before? How long did it last before proper AF? Some women get it every cycle although not sure if that means conception is unlikely.
