hi everyone.

im 31, 8 days late, not actively TTC, but not too worried atm, as TTC date set was this sept :-)

I have taken a test 2 days ago, negative, and still no sign today. any help would be much appreciated

RainbowBelle · 16/03/2013 19:32

BFP = Big fat positive (test) Grin

I would go to the doctors. Why not? If I were you I'd want to know what was going on. They might advise waiting and seeing but it could just be simple test (hopefully) which they can organise quickly.

Keep us posted!

What does bfb actually mean?

OP posts:
Wattage88 · 16/03/2013 19:04

I'm thinking about it? Is it too early to go to doc ?

OP posts:
RainbowBelle · 16/03/2013 18:40

(Probably not if the 88 refers to your birth year! Grin)

I would see the doc for tests. I do hope it is a very very late BFP for you.

RainbowBelle · 16/03/2013 18:38

It's odd but it shouldn't take 9 days late to show even a faint BFP Confused
I can only think you've had a really odd cycle.
Hate to ask but could age be a factor?

twentythirteen · 16/03/2013 18:26

Sorelip Shock!

Wattage wow. Any signs of anything? Maybe your GP could do a blood test for pregnancy?

Wattage88 · 16/03/2013 17:53

Sorelip · 16/03/2013 17:33

Thurs/frid last week? If so then it wouldn't show up yet on a test. I echo everything Rainbow said (except that I have internet cheapies that have shown a positive on 10 dpo). Hi Farmer I'm sorry to hear about your 3 mc's, I'm in the same boat, but I don't know anything about ectopic pgs. Good luck everyone!

Wattage88 · 13/03/2013 12:13

I was " supposed" to ovulate on the Thursday. I tested the thurs, fri and was positive. Ah I'm so new to this tracking stuff. Don't want to get caught up in all the charts temps ect... Just very unusual for my period to be late 6whole days never happene before.

Yes, when did you get your positive on OPK? Usually, most women will have a period anything from 11-16 days after ovulation (called the luteal phase) with 14 days being the average. My LP is short at 11-12 days and I have got pg twice both first time, however, a luteal phase of 10 days or less is not thought enough to sustain pregnancy.

You could have ovulated later this cycle than usual AND have a long LP, so if you ovulated on day 20 or 21, with a luteal phase of 15 days, you would still not have started your period (but you would not be pg).

Generally, by now if you were pg you would have had a +ve but I'm sure there's lots on here who got a +ve after what seemed like a long wait!

As for the cheapies - they are very good at detecting pregnancy when you are established pg, but not so good at detecting early pg. Superdrug own brand are though.

HTH.

I am new to this but feeling stressed and felt compelled to share. I am 4 days late (which never happens) but test is neg. I have had 3 miscarriages, one quite late and an ectopic so feeling worried, esp as I know ectopics can mess up your readings. Only used cheap tests...any thoughts?

twentythirteen · 13/03/2013 10:16

What day did you get your positive opk? It's so frustrating waiting to find out. I'm currently toward the end of my 2ww and am also nail biting! The longer a cycle goes the more furstrating. I hope you get an answer soon. The stats on the "countdown to pregnancy" website (sorry I don't know how to do links) would say that you have about a 66% chance of getting a positive pg test on 10 dpo, I don't know the stats for other days.

Wattage88 · 13/03/2013 07:52

Iv not had any spotting nor bleeding. I did use an ovulation stick this month(first time) and it was positive no idea if that makes any difference. Just wish I knew either now, so iv I'm not I can start all over again
