MumTumgot · 20/03/2013 08:32

Just a quick de lurk .... My age gap is 13 years !!! My dd will actually be 14 in October ! And here I am again with 4 weeks to go .... Built in baby sitter I say Wink

Jollyb · 20/03/2013 06:45

Yes scratches all healed!

Jollyb · 20/03/2013 06:43

Oh Pixie good to hear from you. When are you getting married?

It's hard to know when enough is enough isn't it. This pregnancy was definitely going to be my last 'go' . 3 MCs within 12 months had taken so much out of me.

MrsHeggulePoirot · 20/03/2013 06:41

Thanks jolly - is it bad that made me giggle a bit? I hope his head is ok now Grin

Jollyb · 20/03/2013 06:37

Mrs HP - I can see how you must be getting a bit downhearted now. . I hope your appointment this weekend is helpful . Should you get to the point of going down the IVF/clomid route - I believe the fact that you've been pregnant twice before greatly increases your chances.

Now as for age gaps - there is 5 years between my DP and his elder sister. She wasn't terribly impressed initially (he arrived on her birthday!) and used to scratch his head, but now they are really close.

MrsHeggulePoirot · 20/03/2013 06:33

Oh pixie that is so hard. Are the wedding plans yours? How exciting when is are your getting married? Big hugs. X

oo00PIXIE00oo · 19/03/2013 19:38

Hi mrshp there are three of us girls I'm my family I have a better relationship with my sister 9 years younger than me than the one 3 years younger - relationships are what you make it regardless of age :) x

I am here lurking just feel a little raw - waiting for the all clear from the EPU and for the first AF to arrive, have worked out I have been pg for 27 weeks of the last 12 months with no baby - will probably try one last time as I can't take the physical and mental stress :(. Throwing myself into wedding plans now to keep my mind occupied :)

Love and hugs to you all x

MrsHeggulePoirot · 19/03/2013 18:38

Thanks amicablemoomin that does mean a lot and helps to know!

How are you doing?

amicablemoomin · 19/03/2013 09:09

hey mrshp, I dont know if this helps at all but there is six years between me and my brother and we're really close - it definitely is a different relationship than if you grow up with just a year or so apart, but I have so many clear memories of him as a baby and growing up which are really special in a different way - and there wasnt any sibling riviarly becasue we were in such different places. Good luck with the appointment, let us know how it goes.

Glad to hear the scans are all going well!

MrsHerculePoirot · 18/03/2013 20:43

Over a year now. We had been trying for a year when I found out I was pregnant on the morning of NYE 2011 (eg day before 2012). Found out quite early no hb etc... through early scan (as I am diabetic) actually had the mc and hospital stuff in Feb half term so middle - end of Feb 2012. So now we have been trying for over two years with that one mc in the middle. At the time I felt quite positive eg that I could get pregnant, but now again I've lost that faith a litte.

The thing for me is that I have a DD (now 3 years 3 months) and every month I feel sad for her too, and feel the age gap will be that much bigger. However I do also realise that I am very lucky to already have her, and if she is it for me then I will always be grateful for having her. I sometimes feel bad for being upset when I already have her if that makes sense too.

Glad to hear you are all OK! I am liking all the positive stories and BFPs on this thread!

How long have you been trying since your MC Mrs HP? Must be a frustrating time.

All well here.

MrsHerculePoirot · 16/03/2013 20:09

Haha - I was only joking! Appt is next Sat so will see what they say there!

Redbird, I sort of know that worrying doesn't help, but as you say it is hard. I think maybe if they just check me I'll perhaps feel better about it, who knows!

Dorita75 · 16/03/2013 18:26

Sorry for not replying sooner mrshp ! Did you go for your appointment today, did you mention clots? I don't think it's anything to worry about, I also had funny fluctuating periods all last year. x

Redbird12 · 16/03/2013 12:30

Glad to hear the scans went well jolly and beans. I have to wait until 3rd May for my 20 week scan so a few weeks to decide whether we are going to find out the sex or not (am leaning towards yes).

backward gorgeous picture of Esther, she is lovely. Hope you are both doing ok.

Mrs HP sorry to hear about AF's arrival. I can't remember how long ago your mc was but my periods were a bit all over the place in terms of timings and how heavy or light they were for a few months after my last mc. When i saw the doctor she just said they would take a while to settle down and also it was to be expected by your late 30's anyway! So whilst it was reassuring, it didn't really help. I also had acupuncture last summer to try to make my cycle more regular and just make me less stressed about ttc. I had heard so many good stories and wanted it to make a difference but it really didn't seem to make a difference at the time.

I'm not sure if my body just wasn't ready at that point after 2 mmc's or whether I was just frustrated that it had all happened relatively easily before and now seemed to be taking ages. It wasn't until I had almost given up on the idea of us ever having DC's and stopped stressing about it so much that I actually got pregnant. But i know it is far easier said than done to not think about it!

MrsHerculePoirot · 16/03/2013 11:14

I've frightened you all off now haven't I?!? Blush

OP posts:
MrsHerculePoirot · 15/03/2013 20:43

Thanks everyone! If not TMI, my period has been very clotty. I've noticed it before, although not sure if due to paranoia since my mc last year, but today there was a big old clot, a bit like the ones when I was mc last year. Am going to mention it to the docs, but don't know if anyone else has noticed/had similar?

HJBeans · 15/03/2013 18:56

Too late to wish you a good scan, jolly, but glad to hear it went well. My little boy stayed a boy, too - good to have continuity in these things, isn't it? :-)

I don't usually get upset by other pregnancies, but am a wee bit wistful that our friends' newborn has been given the fairly unusual name we have planned for our first son. We'll still use it, but couldn't help a wistful thought that if my last pregnancy had continued we'd have beaten them to it and gotten all the 'oh, what a lovely name!' comments from all our mutual friends. Now our comments will be 'oh, you liked their choice then, did you?' Envy

I second the 'good luck with the appointment', MrsHP, and will keep fingers firmly crossed for both you and amicable.

Have a good weekend, all.

Dorita75 · 15/03/2013 18:53

Yes, cry as much as you want mrshp I found it so hard when people announced news. Hope your appointment all goes well tomorrow x

amicablemoomin · 15/03/2013 18:18

i'm the same mrshp, although mine is usally accompanied by a wail of 'it's not FAIR'. Although of course you are pleased for them it makes your heart sad. Good luck with the appointment.

Jollyb · 15/03/2013 17:28

Cry away Mrs HP. I still feel a little upset when others announce their pregnancies even though I'm finally pregnant myself .

Scan fine. Still looks like a girl.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/03/2013 09:27

Boo hiss indeed especially as it was the same day I got a text from BIL announcing their news with their scan pic! I am beyond pleased for them, but it did floor me a bit and I may have had a little cry in the car!

Appt is next sat so only a week to go.

Jolly hope your scan goes well.

Beans glad your scan went well!
