Hoping the new thread brings a plethora of BFPs and lots of healthy arrivals!

OP posts:
BoyMeetsWorld · 29/03/2013 09:42

Thanks squizita - that's what I was hoping. This pain is bad and feels very "different" to cramps which is what worries me but it's certainly not agonising. If its not getting better by next week though il go to the docs. Just don't want to turn up before I'm at a stage a scan would show anything or they can't really do much anyway...

squizita · 29/03/2013 09:35

I had a scan for one during my 1st MC as my cramps were one sided. I Got the impression it is agonising - more than passingclots or other symptoms - or so the medics said. Sometimes you hear of one with very little pain but usually it MCs before the cells got big enough to hurt. So in most cases (of this rare thing and it is rare) you would know and be like 'get me to A&E'.

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/03/2013 20:50

Thank you :) don't worry, not panicking (too much! :p) just keeping open minded...

Jollyb · 28/03/2013 20:23

Oh goodness I hope I haven't panicked you.

I think in most cases the pain with an ectopic pregnancy is more than a niggle or a twinge and that symptoms tend to develop slightly later in pregnancy than you are. It might be worth posting this question on the ectopic pregnancy board.

www.ectopic.org.uk/index.php/patients/symptoms-and-diagnosis/symptoms-ectopic/

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/03/2013 19:56

Does anybody know what ectopic pain feels like? I'd always imagined it as so unbearable you couldn't ignore it or function normally?

Dorita75 · 28/03/2013 19:23

Congratulations squizita Lots of action on this thread again!

I heard the heartbeat today, I am still surprised by each little milestone, don't expect the positive, wonder if that will change? I'll probably be in shock when a baby comes out in September!

Hello to everyone else, not had chance to read properly as sick and tired today. Will have proper read tomorrow but hope everyone's okay Smile

Jollyb · 28/03/2013 18:40

Boy and Squiz - I had a lot of pain whilst pregnant with my DD. conversely I I didn't have any pain with any of my MCs.

However please get yourself checked out if your pain doesn't settle and stays localised to one side as it could be the sign of an ectopic.

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/03/2013 18:26

Squizita - I know what you mean about 'what is normal pain'. I seem to be having a lot of pain, mainly on the left and constant quite sharp pain not cramps. Don't remember this at all with DS so bit worried, but twinges like you're having are pretty common I think

Jollyb · 28/03/2013 17:03

Wow I can't keep up with this thread.

mon and pumpkin sorry that you need to be posting on this thread and all the best with TTC. I've had 3 MCs in the past 18 months and know how difficult it can be to stay positive. I'm now 22 weeks pregnant - no cause for MCs found.

Congrats to the BFPers and sending you lots of strength for the 'roller coaster' weeks to come.

LCR and red bird - glad all going well for you. Fantastic news on your screening result Redbird.

beans I've grown a bump over the past week too! I'm much bigger than I was with my daughter at this stage - not sure there 's room for another 18 weeks of growth.

pixie good to hear from you and hope you're bearing up ok. We keep finding reasons to put off our wedding but think we'll bite the bullet and aim for Summer 2014.

mrs HP hope you're ok. Enjoy the egg related festivities with your DD (and maybe some egg related festivities of your own too)

MrsHeggulePoirot · 28/03/2013 13:47

Right, have finally caught up!

Pixie - ooooohhh wedding plans sound like they are going well. Hope the weather improves for July. Take care of yourself and give yourself time for yourself to have a cry whenever you need.

LCR77 - good news on hearing the heartbeat, I still remember feeling that was even more amazing than seeing the scan pics with DD. I don't know about the blood thing, but from what Dorita said I hope that as they know, it makes it manageable if that makes sense.

Redbird glad to hear you are low risk, I have no experience of being in your position after a mc, but I felt like that with DD all the way through. Of course I am going to try to tell you to relax and enjoy it, but I know it is much easier said that done.

HJBeans - glad you are feeling better, and nice to hear your positivity now at 22 weeks! You are giving me hope!

Mon26 so sorry you are here, and I'm so sorry you have been through so much. I hope you get some answers soon, you don't always have to be positive here though, I'm certainly not at times! The support though has really helped me and I hope it will you too. PumpkinSweetie - welcome too, although of course sorry you find yourself here and good luck with the ttc.

Squizita, 13loki and BoyMeetsWorld - congrats on your bfps. Try not to metal too much!

squizita · 28/03/2013 13:41

Thanks everyone. I have a Drs appt Tues (bank holiday) and they gave me an out of hours number. TBH I don't want a scan before the PUV stage is done and it looks like a little tadpole - otherwise I will only picture what I might lose! What I would love and will ask about is bloods. Not kidding you they can suck my forearm dry weekly if it means they tell me the hormones are going UP!

One reason I'm paranoid is, never having carried past 7 weeks - what does a 'normal' twinge/pain feel like? D'you know what I mean? Today I have had a few mild 'twinges' - like a gentle pinch- which could be anything from gas to implantation to the cyst growing... or is it something ominous. The toilet paper oracle has stayed white so far (touch wood).

HJBeans · 28/03/2013 10:49

Congrats squizita, the first step is done. I felt exactly the same with my BFP after two mcs and tried very hard not to think of it as something that could end in a baby for the first few months. Now at 22 weeks, though, with a squirmy tummy and he seems very real to me. Fingers crossed your first trimester goes quickly and uneventfully. Do you have an EPU that can give you reassurance scans throughout?

Congrats on your screening results, redbird. Again, felt just the same I the gap before the 20 week scan. Thinking about all the worst outcomes because if I thought about them they at least couldn't surprise me. Felt pretty morbid and ended up breaking up the wait with a private gender scan at 16 weeks and the occaisional listen on a home Doppler. I ended up accepting the negative thoughts as a symptom of pregnancy after miscarriage and just doing whatever I could to mitigate the symptom. They do seem to be lessening since the 20 week scan was ok. Hope the wait goes quickly for you.

Good to hear from you pixie and really glad wedding planning is going well. Great to have something fantastic to look forward to while dealing with the aftermath of lousy luck. The odds really are in your favour and I hope they come up right for you very soon - even if it means some last minute dress altering! Smile

Welcome to the newbies - we seem to be growing great guns recently! - and happy Easter weekend to all. Xx

pumpkinsweetie · 28/03/2013 08:24

Congratulations Squizita Thanks Smile

BoyMeetsWorld · 28/03/2013 08:03

Yay tentative congrats squizita! Know exactly how you feel. When I got my BFP first thing I thought was "here we go again".

squizita · 28/03/2013 07:53

POAS this morning... got a BFP.

Husband happy... I am pooping myself (well I would if I wasn't constipated LOL). It terrified me as both times before ended badly so I just feel like this is waiting for the worst to happen. I thought I would be pleased but no just anxiety.

MrsHeggulePoirot · 27/03/2013 22:53

I am still here, end of term manic-ness. I shall catch up and post proper soon I promise.

Hello to new joiners, so sorry you are here, but a very big welcome to you.

oo00PIXIE00oo · 27/03/2013 21:53

Evening ladies - I'm here still lurking in the background - welcome to the new ladies and I'm sorry you find yourselves here but this is the best place to be for you right now - you will feel the love and support in the room as time goes on and plenty of hand holding.

Congratulations mumtum - wow I first met you when we mc'd early last year and now look a you :) xx

Great to hear some good results and scan stories :)

mrshp how are you doing?

jolly how was the holiday v jealous :)

Afm I have officially stopped bleeding and am now waiting for that bloody woman to arrive - the specialist said we were damn unlucky even at my age (nearly 43) to have suffered three mc's in the last 12 months and said the odds are in our favour for the next one :) a friend suggested IVF - how do you explain to a non-maternal person that I have no problem getting pg ....... It's just staying pg I have problems with???

Wedding plans are going great guns, dress picked and paid for - unfortunately the poor lady in the bridal shop had a bit of a shock when I said the wedding is July this year lol luckily it doesn't need too much alteration (unless we get lucky between now and then Blush)

Love to you all and big hugs to those in need ;) enjoy your Easter break xx

Redbird12 · 27/03/2013 20:47

Hi to all the newcomers, congrats to those with BFP's and fingers crossed to those TTC.

Had results of my nuchal/blood tests today, Downs risk 1: 19,000 so low risk. Another 5 weeks until 20 week scan, already starting to get more anxious that something will go wrong and this time it will result in having to deliver a dead baby rather than 'just' an ERPC. I really need to relax and stop thinking about this but I feel like I have to prepare myself just in case.

Mon26 so sorry to hear you are going through a 4th miscarriage, that it is heartbreaking. Did you have any tests done after your 3rd? If not, you should push for these when you feel up to it to see if there is anything they can do? It's really hard to know when to stop trying. After 2 mc I knew I wanted to try again but couldn't do it straight away. I don't know how i would feel after a 3rd or 4th. I think you need to not make any decisions now but give yourself time to recover and see how you feel in 3 months or whatever is the right time frame for you.

13loki · 27/03/2013 12:03

Thanks pumpkin Good luck. I am really surprised it happened so quickly.

Good luck suizita

pumpkinsweetie · 27/03/2013 11:25

13loki, and boymeetsworld congrats and fingers crossed squita Smile. I have just finished my first af since mc, so hope to have a bfp very soon and if not by the end of the year.

squizita · 27/03/2013 09:36

Morning sickness means less chance? I guess it's a symptom of the baby growing and it affecting your body.

Still in complete limbo myself... 12 or 13 days after OV, no AF (I have a short cycle) but too early to accurately test - don't want to until Friday anyway. Psychologically if it's a very weak one which won't implant fully, I'd rather not get '1 week' on a digi test telling me 'yeah you were pregnant for a few days there'. :/ I'd rather get AF or a BFP pink line on an old school test.
I don't even know if I'm having any symptoms TBH as I don't want to lie to myself. Smells like fag smoke stronger etc' (or is that just shut windows with the cold?), tired and achy (again, cold and long days at work), bloated (something I ate)... I just don't know.

13loki · 27/03/2013 08:47

Congratulations boymeetsWorld
I haven't been sick yet, just a little nausea. Which would be very welcome after the two horrific sicky pregnancies I had with DS and DD, if it wasn't for mc last month.

Ah, if only i could properly work out dates. I am really glad to have been able to get pg so quickly, but if I had a period in between then I'd find the dating thing easier Confused . Oh, I live in Sweden, so I have to battle through midwife appointments in my broken swedish, everyone speaks english, but lots of the subtleties are lost. Dreading trying to explain it, over the phone, as I'll have to give them dates before I can get an appointment.

BoyMeetsWorld · 27/03/2013 08:26

13loki tentative congrats! (same as me - I'm not accepting it until at least 12 weeks). Have you actually been sick or just getting nausea? That's all I have...wish I had some clear symptoms really & keep hearing morning sickness means less chance of mc - never been so eager to throw up!!

13loki · 27/03/2013 08:16

Can I join in? I had a mc in Feb, and then started trying again once I got a BFN. Just got a BFG on Friday, and now not letting myself get excited or be happy about it. I do feel sick, but I think it's being stressed about it rather than actual morning sickness.

Jollyb · 27/03/2013 08:06

Hello to all the newcomers. Will reply properly later - having a bit of a hectic couple of days at work. Last day before Easter though - hurrah!
