We've run out of room on Karbea's Jan IVF thread and it is too much fun to stop! We're all getting into comfy clothes and enjoying the side effects and surprises (and occasionally some hand holding).

Shazza a GP will usually just do a urine test, but you can get a HCG test privately. It was standard at my clinic and was £50. Personally, I didn't believe my BFP was real until a medical professional told me, so it was well worth the £50.

chocoloco1 · 08/03/2013 21:30

*feel

chocoloco1 · 08/03/2013 21:29

euro sorry to hear you're feeling flat and sad, you're going through a lot both physically and emotionally

Shazza Mr s' s comment about the test made me laugh! I don't know re the blood test, but if it will reassure you then maybe
you could get one done. 5% chance - wow, those are our odds of success with IVF, so am feeling encouraged

Scarlett great news about your follicles and excited for you for Monday. What time is your trigger tomorrow night?

Nothing new from me really, still feeling nauseous, but probably down to the injections! DH's birthday today and celebrating tomorrow with a bit of a family gathering. Am starting to wonder how I'll this time next week depending on test result

EuroShaggleton · 08/03/2013 20:30

Shazza you really have won the jackpot. I've heard such wins referred to as an "FCFU" (=fertility clinic, fuck you!).

Scarlett I am also on the 10+ thread and one of the women there (pout) is also going for EC on Monday. I thought I would mention it in case you want a cycle buddy (I have mentioned it to her too).

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 19:45

Oh Noks how was the scan today?

Xx

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 19:43

Thanks fairy and Scarlett

Scarlett well done for the follies. Goodness Monday? How exciting.

Keep any news?

Euro glad to hear about the fresh as a daisy pants.

As for twins. Well I don't know about that but I was coming round to the idea despite insisting to DP all along that I only wanted one.

The irony of the luck is not lost on me. Talk about taking it to the wire, last ditch attempt. We were given a 5% chance naturally and 15-20% with ivf. Who knows why it happened now. Maybe it was the diet maybe it was the hypnotherapy I had a few days before ovulation maybe it was that I was so happy to be starting treatment or maybe it was just the miracle that I prayed for.

I'm thinking of you all and hope you are all ok this rainy evening. Loads of love. Shazza xx

EuroShaggleton · 08/03/2013 19:35

Brilliant scarlett!

fairypangolin · 08/03/2013 17:36

shazza unbelievable! I think we all dreamed of the last minute miracle BFP! So happy for you!

Hi everyone. Quick update, 4th follies hasn't grown but 3 good ones have, 2 @ 21mm & 1 @ 19mm. EC booked for Monday.

shaz amazing new congrats x

EuroShaggleton · 08/03/2013 13:41

keep I only had a day between EC and ET, so I didn't exercise then, and I was a bit sore and spotting after ET, so I gave it a few days. I did some gentle sessions after that and have carried on pretty much as normal. I just cut out my runs as I tend to get overheated really easily.

This is my first day off the cyclogest since 30 Jan and it is lovely. It is nice to be free of wearing san pro too (the leakage was so grim). They were definitely making me sore. It is nice and breezy down there today!

Dildals · 08/03/2013 13:40

shazza twins twins twins! (risk of twins increased with maternal age you know!)

keep I went swimming (yeah I know, I didn't get the memo) a couple of days after EC. My ovaries still felt quite big so I did take it easy and stopped when it start to feel a bit painful (after about 45 mins). Yoga does take you in to some strange poses so be careful with the ol' enlarged ovaries.

keepitgoing · 08/03/2013 13:30

Ah shaz :) :) :)
it could be twins!

keepitgoing · 08/03/2013 13:28

When did anyone exercise after EC? They told me no sex or swimming but exercise is OK - I want to go to yoga. Is Sunday too soon?

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 13:26

Thanks Keep. Grin

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 13:26

Hi dildals thanks so much. oh I've already shoved sorry inserted my first one. And then when I went to the loo again a little time later there was a white waxy blob. way TMI!!!

We've been TTC for about 2.5 yrs. 1 of those was not using contraception but not talking about it and not officially trying and 1.5 yrs with tests and all the rest of it. We've been together for 3 years. we unofficially started early because I was pushing 40.

All along our 'diagnosis' has been my age and DP's slight morphology problem. But given my age we were sent straight for ivf. It's taken us a year to save the cash and here we are.
I really can't believe it. In her assisted conception book Zita says she calls these miracle babies. I agree. This is a miracle. It can't be true. X

keepitgoing · 08/03/2013 13:24

Oh wow shaz that's just brilliant!! Keep the ivf money for university fees... ;)
I was thinking it was a shame none of us had had an ironic post ivf bfp!! So pleased for you, and yes, please stay here.

Dildals · 08/03/2013 13:05

and now you can join in on our cyclogest conversations! oh joy! ;-)

Dildals · 08/03/2013 13:04

Hi shazza that is fabulous news! Woohoo! How fantastic! If the tests (note the plural!) say 2 lines, however faint, it means pregnant. And your CB one said the same. It will be a bit faint because it is still so early. So I don't think you need a blood test, but I totally understand that it is very hard to believe it is true at this point, especially now that you have been preparing yourself mentally for an assisted cycle.

I think you can stay on the thread ;-)

So you are having a scan in a months time pretty much. The wait is the hardest, it always is. But it won't be possible to see much before that time anyway.

How long had you guys been TTC?

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 12:53

Thank you girls. I just can't believe it. I'm worried now that Ive made a mistake and ive stopped the sniffing and ruined this cycle. I keep looking at the tests. Mr s has just said 'gosh a new phrase is showing on this test. It now says 'yup you are still pregnant!' should I go to the drs and have a blood test? Guys didnt offer me that. I don't have to see them now til the 4th April. That's ages. Xx

EuroShaggleton · 08/03/2013 12:36

Bloody hell shazza that's amazing news! I'm so pleased for you.

chocoloco1 · 08/03/2013 12:09

Me again! Am so chuffed for you x

chocoloco1 · 08/03/2013 12:05

Oh my bloody god Shazza that is absolutely f'ing fantastic, I'm ecstatic for you. You must be in shock! So, so happy for you. Don't leave us, no, you're always so positive. Massive, massive congratulations x x

Sharonbenn · 08/03/2013 11:54

Hello Lovely Ladies

I hope that you are all ok today.

Keep - well done on the egg harvest. that is marvellous news! Fingers crossed for the fertilisation call. Good luck with the pessaries.

Honty, I can't believe that the clinic haven't called you back. That is terrible, on top of what is already devastating news. I hope they have by now.

Euro - I'm sorry you feel flat. It is natural to feel sad and as you say, probably also to do with the hormones. I hope that you have a lovely weekend. I'm thinking of you.

Hello to everyone else. I'm thinking of you all.

so AFM as they say. Well I'm not sure how to say this but here goes. As you know I had a difficult night last night with these cramps and AF is late so this morning at 6am I thought 'sod it - I'll do a test' and then suddenly there it was BFP! I couldn't believe it. I went and woke up Mr S and he also looked and verified that there were 2 lines. I must be the only IVF patient in the world to only have 1 pg test in the house so I couldn't do another one to double check. We sat and looked at this one for 2 and a half hours until 8.30 when I could ring Guys. Then I had to leave a message and wait for them to call me back.

At 9am we went to the shop and bought a 2 pack of Clearblue digital the one that tells you conception date and 2 first reponses. The clearblue says 'pregnant 1-2' and the first response has 2 lines although very faint. but by this time I could only squeeze out a tiny bit of wee. I have spoken to Guys and they said to stop the sniffing and start the pessaries (in the front door incidently :-) ) I kept saying to the nurse, "I can't believe it" and she said that she could. Apparently this is common. I keep looking at the tests and just can't believe it. after all this time. I've never had so much as a sniff of a positive. It is obviously massively early days and as we know the road ahead is long and precarious. I asked the nurse if I can hang onto the drugs just in case and she said yes of course. If there comes a time when I don't need them anymore then I can donate them to the Unit which of course I would be happy to do rather than throw them in the bin. She has cancelled my appointments and booked a scan for 4th April. I have no symptoms apart from weeing alot and a crampy abdomen. So there you go. Fancy that! But please can i stay in your gang? I consider this to be an IVF miracle pregnancy and I want to stay with you girls.

'effing 'ell!

loads of love
shazza xx

EuroShaggleton · 08/03/2013 09:47

honty a chem preg is a very, very early miscarriage. I've had two incidents (one in Nov and one a little while before we started ttc) where I have had a very odd cycle. My cycles are usually very regular but on both of these my period came early and I had a bunch of weird symptoms (on one, nausea from about 2dpo, and on the other, pink blood and dizzyness during the 2ww). On both of them I started bleeding at about 9dpo (unheard of me - my LP is about 13 days usually). I never got as far as a positive test but I am sure something started to happen then (failed implantation maybe?) so I call them chem pregs for shorthand.

I completely understand about wanting the next try. I am very focussed on that. I will be calling the clinic as soon as I start bleeding asking when we can go again.

keep i'm glad EC went well and hope that the MIL has been managed! 11 eggs is brilliant and I'm glad Mr Keep's contribution was a good one.

We both said "never again" to downregging after the horrible cycle last year so LP is completely out. I don't think we would even want to do a conventional short protocol cycle because my body just seems to overreact to hormones. I had symptoms of mild OHSS on a moderate dose of Letrozole FFS! We might try mild stimulation at one point though. We originally said we would do three natural cycles. We've obviously done one of those already. I am now leaning towards two more naturals and adding one mild on the end as a last hurrah if the next two natural cycles don't work. We have a fridge full of stimms left over from our cancelled cycle, so we might as well use them if natural isn't doing it.

I'm feeling a bit low and "flat" today. I think it is in part sadness at what is happening and also the start of the hormone drop as I missed last night's cyclogest. I've got an acu session booked for this afternoon. I just want the mc over asap.

chocoloco1 · 08/03/2013 08:30

Oh I see, scarlett. Think I went 4 times one week and weirdly quite miss going there now!
