ha ha Boodle - I like the new thread name Smile

start of shagging week here - and oh not in mood already and weirdly have a whole load of ewcm far too early...hmm...

Boodle9 · 20/02/2013 13:15

Based on all this lack of DTD, perhaps next time we start a new thread, we should be the Elderberry Pavlovas and the quest for the immaculate conception!

Fairy, do talk to me about your thyroid! I've had two tests (Sep 2012 then Dec 2012) and my TSH levels were 4.6 then 3.9. Doc sent me packing but I've got so many symptoms in common with it and I'm just generally feeling crap and frustrated. When were you diagnosed? How is yours treated?

Aquarius1 · 20/02/2013 12:50

Thunder is it just me or does your new name sound like you're a bodybuilder or you've had bowel problems [stifles childish chortle and tells self to grow up] Wink

Thunderbuns · 20/02/2013 11:04

Yeah sorry 2cats, tis me thundercats. We had a bfp on the mc thread with a baking-related name so had to make a change...you know how it is. Not that I have any hope this cycle because we couldn't dtd at the right time either. Damnit!

Sorry af got you btw, the temps and faint lines were looking so promising....

2cats222 · 20/02/2013 10:54

thunder are you thundercats under a nc?? [easily confused face]

bunny your 'we only did it twice on the wrong days' did make me smile a little... (especially after my single sex episode last cycle!) No wonder doctors feel they have to remind people to have more sex!! We need to get our DHs into gear this time round

h3l3n welcome, sorry about AF. Though at least you can toast the start of a nice new cycle

Bunnygirlie · 20/02/2013 08:33

Welcome h3l3n sorry to hear the witch got you after teasing you by being late!

I can tell AF is on her evil way, shouldn't be surprised though as we only dtd twice on the wrong days. Hope DH gets his mojo back for march or I may completely freak out!!!

Thunderbuns · 20/02/2013 08:09

Hi everyone, thought I'd just pop my head in now I've stopped being so grumpy.

I totally understand the pain of trying to be happy for others' pg when feeling like youve just been hoofed in the stomach. It's shit. I'm even avoiding friends who might have started ttc now just in case they're successful. Ridiculous.

bunny and happy (and now h3l3n - hi), af is due in the next few days too. Let's do better next cycle, yeah?

Fairydogmother · 20/02/2013 07:25

Hi there h313n!

Boodle I have an under active thyroid - is there any wee bits of info I could help you with? X

h313n · 20/02/2013 00:00

Thank you for all the lovely welcomes Smile. I'd love to have a cycle buddy happylass but I'm a bit unreliable - next one could start in 24 days or maybe 37.....

Pipbin · 19/02/2013 23:31

Welcome H3l3n, nice to have a newby about.

Of course I'm sure that all this is going to go just right for us. We'll be in a bigger house, that we would never have got a mortgage for if we'd had only one wage, before I get pg. All being well we will be established in there before a baby comes.
If it had happened when we first started trying then we would have been stuck in this crappy house in a poor neighbourhood.

happylass · 19/02/2013 23:27

Hello h3l3n come in and make yourself comfortable you are more than welcome Brew. AF got me today too - we can be cycle buddies Smile

twinklestar2 · 19/02/2013 23:24

Welcome h3l3n!

Boodle9 · 19/02/2013 23:14

Hello h313n - I see what you did there! Wink

Over 30? Check! (Not that it matters - they were lovely enough to welcome me into the fold at the tender age of 29, but I have since "qualified"!)

TTC #1? Check!

TTC for a while? Not a criteria for joining as such, but seems to be an emerging trend for us.

Welcome aboard and sorry for AF turning up; miserable old boot that she is.

h313n · 19/02/2013 22:51

This thread seems pretty well established, am I able to sidle in and join you or is there somewhere more suitable for me to start? Hmm

I think I otherwise qualify - I am over 30, been ttc #1 for over a year, and am currently feeling 'a little annoyed' that AF has finally arrived today 3 days late after I'd imagined all sorts of definitely positive symptoms....

Boodle9 · 19/02/2013 22:40

I did notice, Aquarius, but worked out who you meant! Wink Easily done!

Thinking back, I remember taking myself to A&E as a teenager so I could get the morning after pill because boyfriend at the time didn't withdraw very elegantly and the condom fell off in situ! How laughable I find that now! (Although knowing my luck I would have gone and got pregnant had I not...)

I'm now torturing myself by googling hypothyroidism information and natural progesterone for extending luteal plase. Don't think I'm brave enough to self-medicate using the progesterone cream.

2cats222 · 19/02/2013 22:22

Oh ladies, sounds like some of you have had a crappy day/night - big hugs all round! captain yes I remember the pointless panic over a missed pill... what a waste of stress!

Aquarius1 · 19/02/2013 22:22

Just realized I got boodle and bunny mixed up earlier- sorry ladies!

Definitely not worth looking back on years of trying not to get pg - I've been with dh 9 yrs and on the pill and then depo pretty much the whole time but no point regretting it. I like to think our child will be coming into a better home now than if we'd had kids earlier - we're wiser, a bit more organized and better paid. And hopefully we'll get more hand me downs from all the people who've got pg before us!

captainmoll · 19/02/2013 22:15

Ha, yes Soph. In my more wry moments I smile grimly at the thought of all the money we spent on condoms. What a waste of rubber and £'s!

Bunnygirlie · 19/02/2013 22:13

Hindsight, such a wonderful thing!

AF not due for a week but signs are here that it's on it's way Sad

Boodle9 · 19/02/2013 22:04

God yes, agree with that too, Soph! It took ages for DH to come round to the idea of being ready for kids. Had to wait until a year after our wedding, by which time we'd been together the best part of 10 years anyway. Just wish we'd started sooner...hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Soph80 · 19/02/2013 21:54

yes, it could be worse. I do have friends in their early forties DESPERATE for babies yet haven't even got a boyfriend yet!

Its just so frustrating that I've spent years trying to be super careful avoiding pregnancy! I made DH wear condoms as well as me being on the pill for at least first 2 years of our relationship and then resided to pill only! Wished I'd just not bothered!

Boodle9 · 19/02/2013 21:47

Aww, Soph and Captain - so sorry you've had emotionally difficult evenings. Captain I know that feeling ever so well re: SIL. Mine's been over with her baby girl and I can't help but just feel miserable and jealous. I know I should be able to feel happy for her, and yeah, I do, but my happiness for her is nothing compared to the sadness I feel for myself. Then I start telling myself how so many people in the world have it so much worse than me and add a big heap of guilt into the mix too!

At least I've always got my fallback excuse - work stress! It's seen me through some tough times lately!

Soph80 · 19/02/2013 21:33

bunny - yeh, I've probably driven her mad with my moaning lol. I was the one who gave her all her conception info! Feel so guilty I'm not happier for her.

speaking on hens, etc, one of my friends decided to conceive on my wedding night (without discussing it properly with DP first as she was VERY drunk). She basically made him pull over in a layby on the way home and practically got pregnant strait away!!!

Captain - bizarrely, I was ok at my friends yesterday when went to visit her newborn. Might have gotten upset if she'd breastfed though x

Bunnygirlie · 19/02/2013 21:30

I agree happy I thought that this morn too, nobody ever talks about how tough it is!

happylass · 19/02/2013 21:29

After the good news that I'm definitely ovulating AF just decided to show up and kick me in the teeth arrrrrgh! Onwards to (lucky?) cycle 7.
Have somehow managed to avoid all the pics of pg celebrities but did read somewhere that Ant (of Ant and Dec) and his wife have been TTC for 3 years. Sad for them but good to see some stories of the difficulties of TTC in the press too.
