Ps Aquarius love that you have cleared your diary for this evening in the name of TTC - that's commitment! Get to it! Smile

happylass · 18/02/2013 21:08

Evening all! Pip I imagine facing the reality of IVF is massively overwhelming but like Aquarius said in my limited knowledge IVF has an impressive success rate. At least 5 ladies I work with have had IVF (we have a large number of young female staff too Boodle!) and all have got pg very quickly - 3 of them with twins!!
AF due here in the next few days and temp crash this morning suggests she's well on her way Sad
Adding myself to the list.....

Bunny 33, cycle 9, AF due 26th feb

Evening ladies. Playing a bit of catch up after my non existant line and early AF episode confusing the hell out of me! Pip - any news on your house? Boodle did your referral turn up? Captain - any more results back?

Anyone in the 2WW? Anyone got any interesting gossip (bored tonight as Mr 2cats is working)?

Sure she would tell you yourself if she was here but Gail/Viv's lap and dye is tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed for her.

I quite fancy a new name... any suggestions? Does not have to be cat themed and would like something funny/rude (love the word rude, makes me snigger like a 10 year old)

Boodle9 · 18/02/2013 20:24

Welllll, if we're doing a list:

Bunny 33, cycle 9, AF due 26th feb
Sidney, cycle 8
Aquarius, cycle 10/11
Boodle, 30, cycle 19

Thanks again for the sympathetic thoughts. I'm through the worse of the evil AF pains now, thankfully!

I totally get what you're all saying about (in)fertility treatment too. Before we got married and started TTC, we used to go out for evening walks on which we would often talk about 'the future'. I remember we used to talk about what we'd do if we had problems, but I never believed for one second we'd actually have to deal with that reality. Sad

I spend each day dreading the next pregnancy announcement. Our school has a lot of young females, so really it's just a timebomb waiting to go off. Had loads of close friends have babies last year - that was bad enough but I'm not sure how I'm going to cope as the inevitable 2nd pregnancy announcements start up.

Aquarius, you have a point about counselling, but I think talking to you guys can be just as good sometimes! Smile! Don't know how I survived before I started on here!

MotherOfCleo · 18/02/2013 20:17

Im on my phone so cant copy the list but can I add my 10 cents. Grin

MotherOfCleo, cycle 5, ttc number 1 (either baby Harvey or baby Savanna Wink )

Bunnygirlie · 18/02/2013 20:09

I love this thread too, I have looked at others but they aren't as lovely as you lot!

Ooh does that mean we get to start a new list, I loves a list Smile

Bunny 33, cycle 9, AF due 26th feb
Sidney, cycle 8
Aquarius, cycle 10/11

twinklestar2 · 18/02/2013 20:07

Sid and pip - I'm very sad about fertility treatment too. After 19 months I thought I'd be planning my second baby, not still waiting for me first. Off to the fertility clinic on weds, we have been referred finally. I hope this means I get my much longed for baby soon.

Aquarius1 · 18/02/2013 18:56

pip and sidney sorry you guys are feeling a bit Sad and Confused - all I'd say is the only people I know who've had IVF (three couples) got PG v quickly and now have beautiful kids. Don't they offer any counselling to couples who've been referred for IVF? surely it'd help e.g. answer questions you might have? they should. in fact we should all get counselling about ttc full stop. hmph.

so after thinking I normally Ov on cd16, it's now cd13 and I've just had a smiley face and a load of EWCM.... am cancelling plans for tonight and waiting for dh to get home. if only I felt 'in the mood' as well - instead I have bloating and wind - anyone else get that?? it's so not conducive to dtding.

Sidney I'm around 10 or 11 cycles Hmm

SidneyBristow · 18/02/2013 18:08

Pipbin that's how I feel too; it all seems so surreal to even have fertility treatments on the table - that's what I meant by 'mixed feelings' about my appt last week - on the one hand, proud of myself for getting the ball rolling, in case there is a problem; on the other, it feels kind of like a vote of 'no confidence' that a referral to a fertility clinic is on the table for the near future, and I'm only on Cycle 8 of trying. I guess at this point, I just want things to happen, and need to get past the twinges of sadness that TTC isn't turning out as easy as I'd always assumed. I'm glad you're getting on the waiting list! I like this thread too...there's a wide enough variety of experiences, but enough similarities that I feel like we're all in the same boat.

boodle your AF sounds like a nightmare! Hope it eases off soon!

So I started wondering where we all were in the TTC pipeline - Cycle #8 over here, what about everyone else? 19 for Twinkle and 20 for Soph, right?

Pipbin · 18/02/2013 15:24

I like this thread. It's all comfy here.
I used to temp and really liked it. I stopped because I found it was making ttcing become the first thing I thought of when I woke up.

I've got an appointment on Friday to fill out all the forms for IVF. Being on the IVF waiting list is something that happens to other people.

Boodle - hope af calms down a bit today Sad

Bunnygirlie · 18/02/2013 08:28

boodle your AF sounds horrid Sad

twinklestar2 · 17/02/2013 23:14

Boodle - I also hang out in the BFP in 2013 thread. The girls there are lovely and I've been with most of them since last April when I started am April bus thread.

happylass · 17/02/2013 22:43

Yes Aquarius I'd go for it. Your temp won't go up until after you've OVd which, in terms of DTD, means its pretty much game over but at least you'll know that everything is in working order!
Navis I've been temping for 3 cycles and was gonna jack it in at the end of this cycle as it was just confirming what the OPKs and OV pain was already telling me: OV on CD12. However something odd happened this month which has convinced me to continue. Temp shot up on cd12 as expected, then crashed back down on cd13 and shot back up again the following day and has remained sky high. No idea what this means but it did mean that I kept on DTD for a while long than I would have without temping iyswim?

Boodle9 · 17/02/2013 22:42

Twinkle, you're right - there does seem to be quite a few of us who have been trying for a long time.

I mean this in the nicest way possible (and please don't think I'm glad that other people are struggling like I am) but I'm relieved that I found this little thread to reside in, precisely because there are a few of us long-term TTCers! I know there are other dedicated 'long-term TTC' threads, but they all moved way too quickly for me, or already had so many of their own little 'in-jokes' that it was like trying to decipher a secret code!

Aquarius, thank you for the sympathy! I absolutely hate that it's like this every month - kick me when I'm down, why don't you, uterus?!

Come on 'temping teeterers'! It really isn't that much of a hassle. I've arsed around trying all kinds of things to help me conceive and I think temping is the only one I'm actually really, truly glad I've done.

Aquarius1 · 17/02/2013 22:11

thanks happy I don't tend to Ov til cd 16 ish so should be able to get some pre Ov readings hopefully.

boodle so sorry about af making you barf that totally sucks

navis i haven't even started temping yet and I already feel a bit hassled by it... but gonna give it a go anyway...

twinklestar2 · 17/02/2013 22:08

Soph that was pipbin who's had that done this month.
