Yet ANOTHER 2ww...anyone care to join me?

2 years into ttc, and here I am starting yet ANOTHER 2ww. Moral support would be lovely - I gave up on boob support years ago when they started heading south...oh the joys if being in your 40s!

Hopefully dtd enough, though targetted sex is nowhere near as fun as the other sex where there isn't a goal to be aimed for (we're both feeling the strain). And now we wait. Given that I had rampant pregnancy symptoms last month and then my period started bang on time, it's quite like that I'll misplace my marbles sometime in the next teo weeks.

Why does the 5th feel so far away!! Am going to resist testing until after then if possible. Had no symptoms, nothing. Ahh well better luck next time for me! How are you ladies doing? Anything to report? Has your AF arrived sweep?

SweepTheHalls · 29/01/2013 20:40

It's a no go for me Hmm good luck to you all x

quickdowntonson · 27/01/2013 10:38

Sorry , silly phone, didn't mean to say LPG or Ruth!!!!

quickdowntonson · 27/01/2013 10:26

Doctor- get a 21 day progesterone blood test done at your GP surgery, the level of progesterone at cd21 is supposed to be the 'gold standard' test of ovulation. Have the test 3 consecutive months to get a clear picture. You could also ask for other blood tests ( FSH, prolactin, thyroid function) which will help get a clearer picture LPG what your hormones are doing. It's also worth getting your dp to do a semen analysis too- you may just be assuming that any issue is Ruth you, when it might not be! You could also ask for a hystosalpenogram (HSG), to flush out any minor obstructions in your tubes.
As your cycles are so regular, theres probably no benefit in using opk's, as you know the best days to bd anyway. It may just increase stress. X

Well starting spotting yesterday so not going to get my cheesy movie fairytale ending this month Grin

Doctor I do not get on with OPKs at all, had 1 slightly positive in about 6 months before I gave up! I also used the CBFM but only got peaks 1 month and the rest of the time just 2 weeks of highs which doesn't really help. I think I drink too much for there to be any concentration of hormones!! Blush

This is one of the reasons I am considering splashing the £££ on the DuoFertility monitor. I talked to DH about it yesterday and because I was bawling he is happy to consider it, although after we see the consultant on Thursday.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

SweepTheHalls · 27/01/2013 08:11

I stop testing to save money next cycle!

DoctorWhoFan · 27/01/2013 07:53

Welcome to the crazy club.

Bad luck Yorkshire...onwards and upwards, or so they say anyway.

I got a positive on an opk also Sweep, and we also dtd plenty around that time. But I did see something recently that says a plus on an opk is no guarantee that you do actually ovulate. Well whoop-dee-doo, just what I needed. Now I'm wondering if I'm ovulating. Plus when I get my lh surge, it only ever lasts 24 hours. If I test 24 hours after the smiley face, it says there's no longer any surge. Anyone else get this?

SweepTheHalls · 26/01/2013 22:08

Oh due on on the 5th as well!

SweepTheHalls · 26/01/2013 22:07

Can I join for some support? Ovulation tests were positive so I know we DTD at the right time, but that seems to be making the wait even harder as I know that there was definitely an egg lurking there!

quickdowntonson · 26/01/2013 21:32

So Sorry YorkshireTea - must have crossed posts. Its an absolute bitch isn't it? Have a big glass of Wine and on to next month. xxx

quickdowntonson · 26/01/2013 21:29

Hi, can I join you ladies? Glad I'm not the only one obsessing over every little twinge/headache/runny nose etc!
I'm 41 and TTC no.3. Had 9 cycles, nothing so far. It also took me 18 months to persuade DH!
Anyone feel mild AF cramps and twinges in the middle of the Tww and turn out to be preggers? My kids are 14 and 15 now so I can't remember! I'm having these mild AF cramps on and off, and the witch is due in another week GRRrrrrrrrrr ...

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 26/01/2013 21:14

AF arrived this morning. Sad On to cycle 15 now...

DoctorWhoFan · 26/01/2013 21:05

Anyone got anything to report? Last month I had symptoms all over the place starting from about 5dpo (although no bfp), which is where I am now.

I don't feel anything at all so far this month. Except I was as irritable as hell this afternoon with dp, but that may have had something to do with the fact that I was filing the toe rag's tax return online for him because he should never be allowed to do anything technical on a computer...but he left it to the last minute as usual, so lots of pressure and stress for long-suffering girlfriend.

If he ever suggests he'll go self employed again, I think I may throttle him to save myself the long-term stress!

So, nothing to report here. Anyone else?

doctor my af bfp is due 5th feb too!! Fingers crossed we are lucky

CrackerJackShack · 23/01/2013 07:23

Yup she did Doctor. It took her 4 years to get pregnant with me, and she started when she was 20, another 3 to get pregnant with my brother and then low and behold 21 years later...BAM!

DoctorWhoFan · 23/01/2013 00:05

"bookmin"? Feckin' tablet! Book in was what I actually meant!

OP posts:
DoctorWhoFan · 23/01/2013 00:04

Crikey...look at us all Smile. Really nice to know I won't be going batshit crazy all on my own. AF due on 5th February.

Haha tears I may have lovely regular cycles, but I'm still not up zee duff! All this and a toy boy 14 years younger than me. That's why I had to wait so long for him...he was growing up LOL! That sounds very wrong actually...he's 31, so it's not as bad as it sounds Grin.

Just recently moved house, so once settled at new docs, I think I may bookmin for some tests. However, I ordered a fertility test off t'internet which is apparently very reliable and that came back as negative for fertility issues. So WTF? Much as I don't really want to put my fertility under the scrutiny of the nhs, it would be nice to be sure that my lh surges do actually lead to ovulation, or whether we're literally shagging ourselves to death for no reason...

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 22/01/2013 22:27

Impatient I got my BFP with DD the night before we were due at the docs for our referral appointment for fertility treatment! You never know...

We are just starting a round of tests now for secondary infertility (am almost 37, so no time to hang about now). I'm hoping this will have a similar effect! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 22/01/2013 21:47

impatient nothing like provoking sods law! Hopefully this will tempt your BFP to come along just in time :)

tearsofrobertsmith · 22/01/2013 21:33

Cool, 8 of us now! Hello ibelieve and Yorkshire! Best of luck to you two! Sorry for your losses ibelieve.... hopefully this is your time. And same to Bridget....have not been through that myself so hopefully you get a your sticky bfps..

ImpatientOne · 22/01/2013 21:30

Oh I didn't say been ttc #1 since July 2010 and I think we're on cycle 20 but kind of loosing count Blush

We've got appointment with fertility consultant on 31st - to review our various test results - and I can't help but imagine getting a BFP before we have to go!

As much as I wish it were different for you Yorkshire it's nice to hear from someone who did get a DC after a long time trying Thanks

lovesthechaos3 · 22/01/2013 21:29

I really don't hold much hope out this month but it's not over till it's over, so i will imagine symptoms and drive myself mad in the meantime Wink

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 22/01/2013 21:24

I'll join in. TTC #2' cycle 14 and CD24. Cycles been playing silly buggers recently (used to be a regular 29 dayer, now fluctuating between 26 and 34 ( not as extreme as some, tears, but a bit of a change for me. DTD lots this month, so really hoping we get lucky this time. Took 16 months to get DD, so am accustomed to a longish haul, but it doesn't get any easier. :(

IBelieveInPink · 22/01/2013 21:24

Hi. Can I sneak in and join?
Been trying 6 months. Had 2 mc in that time. So we don't really have a problem getting pg, I just can't seem to stay pg :(
So. 2dpo. I already sure I have cramps and other pg symptoms I know I get. Even though it Waaay too early. I think I have finally lost it.

BFP/af due 2nd feb.

tearsofrobertsmith · 22/01/2013 21:23
