Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

I don't know how I'm doing it to be honest, last month I wanted to test 4 days before AF was due!! (she then came that day, and I was gutted, but it was only our first month!) I did want to wait until my birthday but then if it's a BFN we'll be gutted, and will have restricted my party plans for no reason!

ImaginaryHat · 01/05/2013 11:49

Hi all. I'd like to join you too if that's OK? DH and I are currently TTC dc#1 and don't want to tell anyone in real life (it almost feels like we'd be jinxing it!) so would be great to be able to chat with others in the same situation! Having been married for about a year now we are getting questioned by what feels like everyone about baby plans, just trying to be vague at the mo!

Sounds promising for you Slug, very impressive with the will power to resist testing, think I'd be poas the first day after AF due!

DisneyDiva87 · 01/05/2013 10:25

Keep yourself busy on here and they will! We'll keep you distracted.

TheSlug · 01/05/2013 10:15

I am tempted to be honest,Disney but I don't think I'd be able to keep it to myself for a couple of days, and I wouldn't be able to show a real reaction when we do test on Friday! Eeeek, hope these 2 days fly past... c

DisneyDiva87 · 01/05/2013 09:29

What about a wee sneaky test Slug? DH doesn't have to know about it...

Although Friday is only 2 days away so at least it's not too long a wait if you do decide to.

TheSlug · 01/05/2013 09:21

Hi Ladies... haven't been on here for a while, been a bit busy (shagging Grin) but AF was due Friday and still no sign... am I allowed to be scared??? we've agreed to not test until Friday (one week late), if it were up to DH, we would wait a little longer to test but my birthday's Monday so need to see if I can have a big one or not. eeeek... x

Percypiglet · 25/04/2013 19:13

Hi thisisfreakingmeout, my bane of my life is my own mother, not mil... but i agree the nagging is really hurtful. I think she'd be upset if she realised that she was puttng her foot in it all of the time. Keep hanging on!

DisneyDiva87 · 25/04/2013 10:19

Ah ok :o) I didn't recognise myself, I now know that DD87 is me! Sorry!

I'm finding it easy enough to keep quiet about TTC but once I find out I'm pregnant I'll be wanting to tell everyone as soon as I know.

Thisisfreakingmeout · 25/04/2013 00:43

Agreed everyone. I have had some, urn, impertinent comments from MIL over the last two years. At that time it was her son that wasn't ready to go. Now he is, her nagging is still hurtful at times. I'm sure if and when we get our BFP she'll just move on to so etching else! Still over a week to wait to test. A g o n i s i n g . . .

CJP350 · 24/04/2013 19:22

DD87, I abbreviated you...sorry! I also just accidently hit 'report' on a post, sorry again. Not having a good day here!! My hubby's the total opposite. He wants it all top secret and I'm struggling to keep it that way!!

DisneyDiva87 · 23/04/2013 14:00

You forgot me CJP :o(

I mustn't have shouted loud enough waves frantically can you see me now?

I have told 1 friend who is also TTC I wanted one of my close friends to know in case things don't go to plan. Hubby seems to be telling everyone I've had to tell him to stop telling people and defining that friends are still people.

I'm so excited! For myself and you guys!

CJP350 · 22/04/2013 19:25

Hi new joiners, pleased I'm not the only newbie on here! DD87, Bikay, Percy Piglets and 3littlebirds (soz if I've missed anyone) sounds like we can share stories here rather than spill the beans to friends and family. My Mum does know I'm trying but hardly any friends do. Fingers crossed it'll happen soon for us all and we can share the good news!

Percypiglet · 22/04/2013 17:55

Welcome newbies from me, altho I am new too.

Total nightmare not being able to discuss with friends and family...especially when my mother keeps saying "ohh, just get pregant" in regards to every little issue and banging on about my age.... This is my attempt at trying not to entirely lose plot with her!

DisneyDiva87 · 22/04/2013 15:33

Thanks Bikay, here is a list of all the abbreviations as well (in case you hadn't found it already)

Bikay · 22/04/2013 14:09

Hi DisneyDiva

Yep it does make it easier to talk to people in same situation...cant really talk to family and friends until you have the good news :S

DisneyDiva87 · 22/04/2013 12:34

Hi

First post on here! Yeeeeiiicccck!

Hubby and I have also decided to throw caution to the wind and try for our first baby, I've been wanting to start trying for about the last 2 years and I've been so broody it's a nightmare, can't believe it's finally happening though.

I'm 25 (hubby is 31) and I've been on the pill for about 10 years but most recently I was on cerazette and had no periods at all with it. Haven't been taking it for about 2 weeks now and still haven't had a period! I know that with the mini pill your body can regulate nearly instantly but I was expecting to have some bleeding shortly after stopping like I would have when on a combined pill.

I haven't told anyone that I'm trying so it will be great to have some people to be excited/share disappointments with

Bikay · 22/04/2013 12:26

Hi Ladies,

My hubi and i are trying to get preg since dec but no luck till now. Thought id see who else out there is going through similar situation and came across this thread..

errmm..info overload!!! Seeing so many abbreviated words, making me feel abit like an amateaur even though been looking into this for weeks! if not months...

again apologize for the this stupid question...what in the world is TTC, BFP? :S

Since when was getting pregs so hard? :( lol

Love and kisses
B

Thisisfreakingmeout · 22/04/2013 08:50

3littlebirds - I know you're right. I never understood why people tested early until now. It seems to do weird things to your brain because now I totally get it!

CJP350 · 21/04/2013 19:57

Hi 3littlebirds, how funny that you guys are in the same situation. I'm similar - healthy, don't smoke etc. Love a vino every now and again but have cut back massively since we started TTC. I'm on day 34 of my cycle which is my average day for AF but still nothing and a BFN on the test this morning.

I was using OV tests but didn't this month because of the pressure but I've just bought some CB ones which people seem to recommend on this page.

How's your DH managing with it all? Mine's getting a bit fed up of me going on about it all the time. It's taking up WAY too much airtime!

3littlebirds · 21/04/2013 17:06

Hey thisisfreakingmeout, apparently they do work but don't waste your money would be my advice. Wait till your late, the amount of times I've tested and its turned up later that day, makes it harder to deal with as for three mins you have all the hope and excitement building up :-)

3littlebirds · 21/04/2013 17:04

Hi there, newbie alert! Almost exactly the same boat at cjp350, I'm 31 and Dh is 37, been TTC for 12 months. Wasn't on the pill, eat really well, get plenty of exercise, don't smoke and barely drink. I honestly thought it would happen straight away. Had blood tests at gp last week which were "borderline" so need to go back next month,dh off with a sample tomorrow too. Used the clear blue monitor for 8 months but was putting too much pressure/focus on things so have stopped. Trying not to worry, but trixy!

My advice to any newbies, don't start testing till your at least a couple of days late. I cannot tell you how much heartache and skintness this has caused me!

Thisisfreakingmeout · 21/04/2013 09:14

I see a lot of people on here use Clear Blue. Any experience with First Response. Says you can test 6 days before... Really???

CJP350 · 20/04/2013 18:49

Hi ladies, it's so good to read all your posts and realise that we're in this together! I'm 31 and DH is 37. We've been TTC for 12 months after me being on the pill for 12 years. No luck at all so far and it's becoming pretty stressful. My cycle's all over the shop from 30 - 44 days which makes it impossible to know when I'm OV. Any tips on how to make this happen....don't say lots of DTD, I'm already trying that ;o)

Tayme · 19/04/2013 19:09

Hi! I would like to join in.
I was on BC pills for about 7 years, on and off. And since I went off of them 3 years ago, I have been ttc. I have yet to have any success. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Tayme · 19/04/2013 18:48

Hi Ladies! I am 26 and also TTC No. 1, however I have been trying for 3 years on and off due to hubby's job travel, but nothing has happened yet. I am nervous about doing fertility testing. Does anyone know of any methods to help increase the chances? Thanks!
