Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

Hello ladies, i'm in on this too. I'm 28 and DH is 31. Quite new to this whole cycle and fluid thing, but am willing to learn. Married for 5 years and possibly the only couple in our circle of friends for whom condoms have worked.

WannaBeAMommy · 12/05/2013 23:46

Springchicken, I feel the same way, the the odds, AND Tesco babygros...lol!! Fx, and at least on here we can all moan/vent/grumble-then CELEBRATE when we get our BFPs!! Smile

LadyBoom · 11/05/2013 20:42

Hi everyone!!
Very first time posting, and even being on Mumsnet...
Can I join in too, please...?

DF and I have been "unofficially trying" for the past year and a bit; now I'm getting a bit antsy...EVERYONE is getting up the duff, lol!!

I'm 35 and DF is 30...I've had hormone tests etc, and everything's fine...just want it to happen now lol...and so help me God if someone else says "it'll be you next..." Angry

Have started using an iPhone app for ovulation now, so fingers crossed it'll happen soon...will be nice to be able to vent on here when if it doesn't...

BroodyTroody · 05/05/2013 21:03

Hi everyone :)

I've been watching this thread for a while, and now I've been brave enough to join and post!

I'm 22 & husband is 26, we've been ttc for a few months, but I've been on the pill for around 7 years, so I'm not really sure when to count as really trying, as I don't know when my cycles count as normal.

I literally can't stop thinking about babies, and seeing as we've not told many people I need somewhere to vent!

Tigglettchic · 05/05/2013 17:46

sorry hello cursive aswell

Tigglettchic · 05/05/2013 17:45

welcome springchicken!! i am gla i am not the only one who gets mushy at babygros at tesco!!!

so much gardening today! trying to keep my mind of planning next dtd!!!

CursiveLetters · 05/05/2013 16:56

Hi everyone! I just moved to London a week ago and my husband and I have decided to start officially trying. I am 28 (will be 29 in a few months time) and he's 35.

I am trying to relax about it just let it come naturally! I have been off the pill for about 3 years now so I'm pretty in tune with when I'm ovulating/high fertility. (Which happens to be now!) Trying to not constantly wonder wether or not I am preg but it's hard not to think about!

ImaginaryHat · 05/05/2013 16:17

Oh hi notspringchicken, overlapped with you there!

I can't say I know much about ttc in your late 30s but I'd bet there's a thread on here somewhere with people in a similar situation. My SIL and workmate have both had babies at 40 in the last couple of years though so definitely not uncommon.

Sending you positive thoughts x

ImaginaryHat · 05/05/2013 15:18

Haha I have had my hubby mowing the lawns today too!

notspringchicken · 05/05/2013 15:12

Can I join too?

I'm 39 and trying for No.1. I'm slightly weirded out by the fact that I'm giving it a go this late in life. It was never the plan. But I spent a lot of my younger years acting as carer for my Mum who has several serious and debilitating health conditions. So the long and the short of it was, I wasn't in the right place to be taking on more responsibilities.

Anyway, despite saying that this route simply wasn't for me for so many years, here I am obsessing about pee sticks, basal temperatures and trying not to get all mushy when I see babygros in Tesco. On the one hand I'm excited by the idea of becoming a mummy - on the other, I'm aware that the odds for me are not great. I've left it very late and it simply may not happen. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

It'd be nice to have a few buddies to share this journey. TTC is like learning a whole new language. Hopefully we can all keep each other sane.

I sincerely sincerely hope that we all get healthy happy babies at the end of this. Sending my most positive thoughts to all of you. :-)

Hi,

I am due to Ov on Wednesday so AF/BFP around the 22nd.

The gel is so funny, I thought there would be more than there was!!

thank you for your kind words though, I am 28, as is DH and we are starting to feel very grown up with TTC and gardening today!

xx

ImaginaryHat · 05/05/2013 14:02

Hi Tigglettchic. Congratulations on your wedding, its such a lovely time! I've not tried tescos conception gel, were trying preseed off Amazon to see how that goes, too early to tell yet though.

When are you due your bfp/af?

Tigglettchic · 04/05/2013 19:38

Can I join?? We have been married 2 weeks and we are in our second month of trying (although the first was half hearted, £9 drinks package was a big factor for the wedding!!)

Anyone else tried the conception gel you can get is Tescos?

FX everyone!

ImaginaryHat · 03/05/2013 21:04

Ah fantastic news, congratulations. What a lovely early birthday present!

TheSlug · 03/05/2013 18:43

Imaginary, thank you for your reply, you were right he is great!!!!

TheSlug · 03/05/2013 18:42

Oh my god, I only got a BFP didn't I!!!

ImaginaryHat · 03/05/2013 17:29

Ooh exciting Slug, fx for you! I have another week to wait and its doing my head in!

I think with blokes their excitement will probably kick in once you have your bfp. From my experience (and admittedly that's not much as we weve just started trying recently!) my dh isn't obsessed with ovulation dates (been tracking for a while before starting ttc), counting down the days to test etc as I have immediately become! That's a massive generalisation of course but I wouldn't over think it at this stage, it'll only stress you out!

Enjoy your BBQ and best of luck for your test x

TheSlug · 03/05/2013 16:24

does anyone feel like their OH doesn't put much emphasis on the whole POAS thing? We had agreed that we'd do it today, I said last night shall we pop to the shop and get a test so we can do it in the morning? He said no, we'll do it in the evening, after he's come home from work, done his run, had a sunbed session, then we'll go to the shops and get a test?? And now I've just got a text saying 'bbq at [his best friend's] tonight'

I know it only takes a couple of minutes, but I feel like he should care more? Or am I over thinking things? Help! X

TheSlug · 03/05/2013 10:19

testing this evening... eeek!! anyone else this weekend?

TheSlug · 02/05/2013 09:51

Bikey I feel the same, I'm close to my mum too, and she keeps asking! We just say, 'oh, soon maybe' and hope that puts her off enough! I do wonder how long I'll be able to keep my gob shut if/ when we do get a BFP!

Bikey86 · 01/05/2013 17:55

I find it really difficult not to tell anyone...especially my mum as we are quite close. My friend is now 5months preg with dc#3 (unexpectedly)and keeps asking me when we are going to start our family!! Pressure!!

ImaginaryHat · 01/05/2013 13:00

I think you've probably got the right approach Slug, and I admire your patience! I'd definitely test a couple of days before your birthday though if you'll be a week past AF due date - if its a BFP you'll be so excited and won't mind reining in the party celebrations!

We were 'casually trying' (not monitoring ov and not dtd every other day) for 3-4 months before Xmas, then stopped just because of our personal circumstances. We've started again this month using opk and dtd more frequently, and in my head this feels like the first month of 'properly' trying. Got to wait til around 11th May though to see if AF makes an appearance! Good luck for Friday!

TheSlug · 01/05/2013 12:20

I'm the same Imaginary, I didn't want to tell anyone, I didn't want everyone constantly asking me 'how's TTC going?' how long have you been trying? xx
