Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

Any tips on how to recognise ovulation without a tester?

firsttimekat · 22/01/2013 20:53

2ww here and having lots of fun symptom spotting... feeling bloated, peeing all the time, and sore boobs, of course that could just be AF (AF due 25th to 30th). Had been on the pill for ages so still getting used to whats normal for me!

I feel like we DTD plenty so really hoping it works. Plus everyone at work seems to be pregnant and I can't wait for it to be my turn!

WakeyCakey · 22/01/2013 20:03

Thanks for the welcome Smile
At the moment DTD is a problem, DP finds my new found periods (none for 3 years due to B2B pill) very strange.
He isn't sure anymore whether to instigate DTD as he doesn't want me to refuse Hmm
But we are getting there. Until I know my cycle he's definitely not going to have a clue!
Tempted to get some ovulation sticks so we can plan a bit better but don't want to make DTD a chore!!

Iheartcrunchiebars · 22/01/2013 18:55

Hi ladies can I join? I'm 31 and am ttc baby number 1. Terrifying but very exciting. I am convinced I'm pregnant although most of my symptoms are more likely to be from my cough!

bluefreckles · 22/01/2013 16:19

I seem to have quite a few sore spots. Mainly around my mouth, along my jawline and a couple on my cheeks Angry
I normally get one, maybe two, just before AF arrives but now I have about 6 and AF finished over a week ago! Grrr...

Anyone else?

kd83 · 22/01/2013 13:57

bluefreckles i also struggle getting enough DTD, and feel in a similar position to you. DH works long hours in the week and doesn't always feel much like DTD when he gets home.

Am in 2ww now, due AF around Feb 2, but tbh think we missed the slot this time as only dtd 3 times in last 10 days :(

SeriousStuff · 22/01/2013 11:17

I think I may finally have given up this month...we managed to DTD every other day from CD8 - CD23. I hope this was enough! But worried about putting too much pressure on my DH so may leave DTD for a few days now.

AF is due on 28th, only 6 (long) days to go. I wish I could hibernate before it's time to test (or face AF).

purplefairies · 22/01/2013 09:24

I'm on CD7 of an equally unknown cycle length. To be honest I'm hoping it's a long cycle again as DH is away from Friday until a week on Saturday with work, so I'm praying I don't OV then as it would be a total waste of an egg. On the other hand, even my "normal" cycles are longer (35 days), so I'm hoping we'll still be in with a chance afterwards.

I think it is hard to "fit in" all of the DTD that is required to give yourself a good chance, to be honest. We both work really long hours and during the week my bed is definitely mainly for sleeping.

I think nature probably intended us to have babies as soon as we met a partner and were still in the "this is all new and exciting" stage :)

Wow, lots of new members!
Welcome to liquorice, wakey, sparkle, Marshall, Poppy79, grizzly, firsttime, lovemycats and Frizz
I hope I got everyone and didn't welcome anyone who had already been welcomed.
Right, we need updates. Where is everyone in their cycle. How has it been going this month?
2ww'ers - any news?

Update from me - I'm on CD11 of an unknown cycle length! I'm not using ovulation sticks or anything so pretty casual with the TTC. Through one thing or another we have actually only managed to DTD once in the last 11 days Sad. Going to up my game now and aiming for every 3 days. Also keeping an eye on cm - nothing to note at the moment.

Does anyone else have spells of struggling to DTD?

Please can I join? Ttc for the first time from 1st Jan. I am 28 and dh is 30- I thought a 3 week holiday would be perfect but af has just reared her ugly head. I am not using any opks etc but tmi alert I do experience spotting every month about 3 days before af appears so I would be interested to hear any similar experiences. I didn't ever think it was an issue but having looked on here a lot of mners worry it means you cannot conceive?

WakeyCakey · 21/01/2013 17:53

Hi can I join.
TTC my first (dp's second)
AF has just been for the second time this month! Came off the pill on NYE after 3 yearsl back to back so I have no idea about my cycles.
Not using anything to track my ovulation just seeing what happens for now, I am a serious impatient person so the 2ww's will be awful!

DailySliceOfGato · 21/01/2013 17:32

Thank you for welcoming me blue, and for starting the thread! I have lurked for yonks on various bus-type threads, but not dared to join anything for fear of getting over-obsessive about TTC. This has now happened anyway, so I can't get any worse!

Hello to everyone who has joined! Poppy, I felt the same way when my AF came on first cycle. I knew it was ridiculous to be disappointed, but nonetheless...

Hey blue
My first af since coming off the pill in december seems to be lasting forever.
It caught me very offguard a week ago and hasnt completely gone yet. I fear the spotting could continue for a while.
I am hoping to get my cycles in some form of routine before we actually start ttc tho so i have time to get settled.
I went to my gp before coming off the pill to see what the best things to do before ttc were.
My gp advised to dtd every 2-3 days all the time. The little swimmers can live for a few days so if you dtd every 2-3 days you wont miss ovulation and it takes the pressure off if u are just doing it lots instead of only certain times of the month.
I read somewhere that u shouldnt dtd every day for too long as it actually causes deterioration in the little swimmers as the man cant make them fast enough (dont know if thats true tho)
I am struggling waiting now though as feel as prepared as i can be. Am trying to get my dp to decide when he wants to start. We will def start ttc April at the latest but I am too excited!

MarshallJ81 · 20/01/2013 10:42

Hi Ladies, can I join in? TTC #1 and very excited! Came off the patch in September and had an early MC in November. Now using OPK (I find superdrugs own brand to be the best!) but its tricky as my cycles are all different lengths, argh! Now on a 2WW fingers crossed and good luck everyone else! X

Poppy79 · 19/01/2013 21:14

Hi all, I'd like to join to join this thread too please. I came off the pill mid-december and we started ttc straight away. Had some strong symptoms; cramps, constant hunger pangs, headaches, dizzy spells but bnf when we tested and Af turned up last week. Tried not to get too excited but we were disappointed, silly we know but fingers crossed for next couple of weeks. Good luck all x

younggrizzly · 19/01/2013 19:49

Hi ladies, please can I join too?

I'm new to mumsnet. Been TTC our first since early May 2012 over 10 cycles so far with no luck. AF due on Wednesday but think I ovulated early this month so who knows!

Just had CD21 progesterone test and got to have LH and FSH done on CD4 as well as thyroid as have suspected pcos due to short luteal phase, bad skin, weight gain - so all in all its getting me down!

Been temping and using OPKs for 4 months which is how I found out LP is short.

And that's me! Hoping reading everyone's stories will get me excited about TTC again.

kd83 · 19/01/2013 19:25

bluefreckles I'm in the 2ww too. Imagining every tiny twinge is implantation cramps. Really not trying to get excited as I don't think we DTD enough this month and prob missed my ovulation. Still keeping my fingers crossed cos you never know, it only takes one lol!

Fingers crosse for everyone.

firsttimekat · 19/01/2013 16:15

I'd like to join too. also ttc no. 1, been trying since July. I'm 27, DH 28.

My cycles are all over the place so finding it difficult to predict when things are going to happen. DTD every other day or trying to but does lose the magic sometimes when you aren't in the mood.

roofio87 I've also cancelled plans tonight and blamed the snow, but also about not drinking and feeling a bit weird today. Haven't told friends we're ttc so thought I'd blame the snow!

setayharas · 19/01/2013 13:39

im in the 2ww 5dpo at the moment and nothing to report here. just willing the next 9 days away.

i have got quite creamy cm which i havent notcied before but google tells me thats just the progesterone building up.

ILoveMyCats · 19/01/2013 13:27

Hello ladies! I too am in the early stages of ttc for the first time. Just to mention that I have managed to buy clearblue digital ovulation sticks from Amazon without having to buy the whole kit again. Hope that helps.

roofio87 · 19/01/2013 12:52

Nesswalk · 19/01/2013 11:55
