Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

Hello! I want to join you guys on our common mission for this year.

We are TTC for the first time, I am 34 and dh is 31.

I have been off the pill for years, doing temperature charting and mucus monitoring.

Hope to conceive consciously, though tried for first time last night and mister was a little, shall we say, reluctant!

ELA88 · 08/02/2013 06:52

Just poas and got a bfn :-( not very happy! Especially after having a dream I was pregnant! Need to try and stop thinking about it so much but it's hard! Also not even sure where I am in my cycle as never got AF? If your cycle is really long do you still ovulate at some point? Xx

LoveLaughingLots · 08/02/2013 06:20

Good morning ladies!

I'm still symptom spotting every moment of my life! Lol definitely feeling something going on! Cramping on my right side every now and then and then a more dull pain there too. Feels like OV pain, but I'm quite sure I'm 4DPO...not obsessed at all! Lol Smile

How is everyone? Any BFPS???!

LLLx

Ariel21 · 07/02/2013 20:05

It's hard to know as I don't know the length of my cycle yet - I've only had one period post-mirena (none at all whilst I had it - 2 years). If my cycle is 28 days then it will be next Wed/Thur. Valentines!

ELA88 · 07/02/2013 19:58

I'm glad it's not just me that peed all over the thing! Especially after reading on the instructions it can affect the test! Best be more careful next time! ariel when is AF due? Xxx

Ariel21 · 07/02/2013 18:04

Excellent, thanks for the advice... Much more likely to pee all over myself I'm sure... eww

Might have a go next week. Excited much?!

DailySliceOfGato · 07/02/2013 15:15

Thank you lovely people for your good wishes! I haven't been congratulated by anyone so far apart from you (because we haven't told anyone...and obviously DH hasn't 'congratulated' me, which would be weird). Still a bit paranoid that it won't stick.

Hope the 2WW is going by fast for those in it. All the symptom-spotting was great fun for us as we approached it as a bit of a light-hearted game! I definitely noticed some clearly imagined symptoms on the cycles when I wasn't pregnant - sore boobs, strange tastes in my mouth etc. The one clue I had this cycle was that I was suddenly really exhausted a few days before my BFP.

Ariel, POAS-ing (especially if it's first thing in the morning) can be a bit of an acquired skill so don't feel bad at all if the first time you do it you miss the stick or pee all over it (not that such a thing has ever happened to me) Shock

P.S. If anyone is taking the ridiculously expensive Pregnacare Plus tablets (the ones that include an Omega 3 tablet), they are currently half-price at Superdrug (online and instore). I promise I don't work for Superdrug! I spotted them yesterday and stocked up!

LoveLaughingLots · 07/02/2013 06:16

Morning All,

Ariel as well as what you've said, I'm experiencing break-outs as well! Argh! Lets hope these are genuine symptoms! FX

Let's be positive poppy!

LLLx

Ariel21 · 06/02/2013 22:49

Yes LOTS of imaginary symptoms! Boobs, cramps, hunger, fatigue, tingling belly, bloating... Who knows eh? Might just try and forget about it until next week. I've never POAS before even! Such a novice.

Poppy79 · 06/02/2013 21:40

Congrats daily!
I'm on my 2nd 2ww, had a few symptoms but don't really trust them after I had so many symptoms last 2ww and got a bnf & AF arrived!
Bought a bulk pack of the strip tests on the net which arrived today, might be trying them out over the next few days! Trying to convince myself it'll be a bnf though so as not to get too obsessed and not be too disappointed if its another bnf. So easy to get obsessed! lol
good luck to all xx

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 21:33

Ariel the 2ww! My first since using OPKs (although I can't tell when I O'd) but if I go off of most O Calendar predictions I O'd on 3rd...? Not 100%, but I'm cramping a bit, so something is going on! Any symptoms??

wakey soz!!! Got it wrong, that must be a sign that its you next! lol congrats daily all the best! Xx

I got my new super sensitive O sticks today, praying I won't need to use them in this cycle!

LLLx

PistachioTruffle · 06/02/2013 20:05

Yep WakeyCakey, I justified it to myself by thinking it was just for one month, and I could try and use them to pinpoint other symptoms of ov and learn more about my cycle for future months (although i'm hoping I won't need to!)
I considered the cheapy line ones, but it sounded a bit too complicated with the lines/lines getting darker thing, so I thought smiley faces were an easier bet. At this rate, it could become a very expensive habit though Grin

Ariel21 · 06/02/2013 19:27

Congrats Daily!

Yes LLL am in my first ever 2ww, finding it ok but v aware of any symptoms, however psychosomatic they might be...

How are you getting on?

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 19:21

That's how I feel pistachio I don't want to waste the money if I get no smiley face. But I still want to know what's going on. If only they could be super cheap

PistachioTruffle · 06/02/2013 19:10

Congratulations daily!!

Has anyone else tried the Clearblue digital OPK's? I'm on cycle day 15 and so far no smiley face, but then I do have a longer cycle so perhaps that would explain why. I hope I get one at some point, or i'll feel as if i've wasted £20 Blush

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 18:59

Yeah I think I'll just wait and see what happens for a month or so, ill end up spending tons of money on opk and tests! Ive downloaded a cycle tracker app on my phone! At least I have my little cat to keep me company tonight while my husband marks test papers :-(

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 18:46

Ela I'm not using a monitor. Decided not to waste ovulation sticks because I have no idea how long my cycle is or where to begin. May do this month

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 18:44

LLL It's congratulations daily Grin

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 13:31

DailySliceOfGato I intend to continue with the yoga during pregnancy so I thought I'd step it up whilst TTC! I feel so much better when I exercise!

Wakey congratulations!

I can't wait until we all graduate and are on the Pregnancy board! Grin

Who else is in 2ww?

LLLx

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 12:42

Aww thanks daily I think I'll invest in it! Give me something to read! And congrats :-) very exciting! How much was the Superdrug test? I bought 2 early response boots own that were £8.99 for 2 but DH was moaning at the expense! May secretly buy some!!

wakey i came off my pill the beginning of jan and I've only had my withdrawal bleed so far! I don't even know where I am in my cycle as my AF was due Monday?! Are you using a opk to try and work out ovulation? Xxx

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 11:36

Wallowing in AF self pity at the moment. Bulk buy of PG test arrived this morning which means I'm all set for next month. Lets hope for a nice early ovulation. Although I went to the DRs yesterday for something else and she said as a side note chart my cycle for the next 3 months to get a better idea of length etc being as I've had 3 afs (one just as coming off pill) since New Years so to count them until April and not get too consumed until then.

WakeyCakey · 06/02/2013 11:31

Congratulations Daily !!!!

DailySliceOfGato · 06/02/2013 10:36

Greetings rach, BookWorm and SmartDoodle. I lurked for ages on the Conception board before finally investing in this thread! And I'm glad I did! Like most people TTC, I have been trying hard and pretending outwardly to be calm and rational and living life normally, so it's great to have an outlet.

ELA, we did read the first few chapters of 'What to Expect' when we started TTC (there's a 'Conception' chapter) - and we found it very detailed and readable. It felt very naughty buying it because we weren't actually 'expecting'! The layout is a bit strange, but it has a comprehensive index. I expect that people who prefer a laid-back TTC process might not want to read it, but DH and I found it answered lots of our questions.

LLL, no yoga for me, but it sounds like a great idea. Pilates helped me feel that I was preparing my body and not just killing time before a BFP.

rach don't worry about your age and a glass of wine.

So, as an update, after my virtually non-existent faint line on Monday morning (about 10 DPO) I re-tested again today and got a proper BFP on a Superdrug test (which I would fully recommend - really sensitive and cheap as well) and a Clear Blue digital! Shock So fingers crossed hopefully this little one will decide to stay.

I'll hang around a bit on this thread because I'm too scared to move across to pregnancy board at such an early stage (as I've tested early, who knows, it might be a chemical pregnancy...), but nonetheless THE VERY BEST OF LUCK to everyone!

LoveLaughingLots · 06/02/2013 09:38

ELA I'm trying to be "at peace" with the waiting..otherwise I'll drive myself mad. Everyone says that you should relax and it will happen, so I'm TRYING to behave like that...Have you had any OV pain?

Ariel I was spotting within a few days of having it taken out (late September) and AF has been as regular as clockwork since then. But January she was here for two weeks! But Dr said everything was ok, just an odd month. Apparently as soon as you remove the Merina the hormone is gone, which is v reassuring.

ELA88 · 06/02/2013 09:25

I'm not sure love ! I did a test last Sunday morning because I thought AF was due on Monday (that's only when it would've been due when I was taking the pill) so maybe my cycle is later and I didn't ovulate till after? Hmm I might wait till Friday and if still no proper AF ill poas on Saturday morning? I hate waiting and not knowing! But I'm so glad I've found this site because I have no one else to talk about TTC! Xxx
