Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

Yes, the two week wait is the wait between ovulation and when you can take a pregnancy test.

WakeyCakey · 01/03/2013 18:18

bartlet I was wondering things along those lines today.
I ovulated on the 26th so am 3dpo. Does that mean I test 2 weeks from the 26th? So do I test on the 12th if AF doesn't arrive before then?

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 18:17

pistachio I've heard that book is fab. Am going to order a copy too - god knows I need it.

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 18:16

thanks barking - so if I don't get my period before the 13th March, test on the 13th?

PistachioTruffle · 01/03/2013 18:10

Hope everyone is having a good Friday and looking forward to the weekend!

AF arrived yesterday so out for this month. Have ordered taking charge of your fertility in the hope it will help me understand my cycles a bit more.

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2013 18:04

madratlady how regular are your cycles?

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2013 18:04

If you've ovulated this week you won't be able to test yet. You can test at 2 weeks but that's 2 weeks after conception (ie ovulation), not two weeks after the first day of your last AF. You can test on the day your AF is due, or with a sensitive test up to 4 days before. Hope that helps.

Madratlady · 01/03/2013 18:03

Hey I haven't posted since the start of this thread but I'm feeling a bit down and worried. AF is now 8 days late but still bfn and no symptoms :(
Should I be worried?

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 17:57

Hi everyone :)

I'm just wondering (am a complete idiot with all things to do with conception), is it possible for a test to give a BFP just two weeks into a pregnancy? The tracker I used (webmd) predicted I'd be ovulating this week, and I think I've had some signs of ovulation. The tracker reckons I'll be due my period this month on the 13th. Seeing as we've only DTD this week (3 times), would a test even be accurate that soon? I'd only be 2 weeks preg? this is so unlikely but never mind!!

WakeyCakey · 01/03/2013 17:06

Hey jaffa good luck for testing on Sunday!
I'm 3dpo so long 2ww to go!
When is your AF due?

jazzcat28 · 01/03/2013 16:57

Can I join you ladies? I'm 27, recently married and I took my very last pill this morning and now am starting the wait for AF to arrive, following which DH and I will be starting TTC in earnest!

Am hoping to just go with the flow and not get into charting and ovulation tests etc, but who knows how obsessed I'll get!

I'm a little worried about regularity of cycles as before I went on the pill (when I was 17) I could go 2-3 months without any period, but not sure if that was me being irregular, or just because I was young and my body hadn't settled. Have been on the pill ever since so no idea what my cycles are like.

jaffas2013 · 28/02/2013 23:53

Welcome all new peeps :)

Well yet another BFN this morning. Had constant sore boobs since OV but the queasy feeling has gone as has the (sorry for TMI) CM. I think I'm 12DPO today so still a chance yet but not going to bother testing again til Sunday.

Hopefully I'm one of those people that cant get BFPS early!

Bartlet4America · 28/02/2013 20:18

Thanks Wakey! My GP is great, very to the point ("you were born with PCOS, you're guna die with PCOS, you've just got to learn to manage it and get over it" - Grin), but really knowledgeable and keen to help out! Aaah the 2ww! Have been lurking on MN for a while now, and have seen how much of a rollercoaster it can be. Hopefully you might be one of the fortunate ones who gets pregnant straight away. I keep thinking that it could happen to me, but the reality is a fair few months of BFN for me yet!! GOOD LUCK!!

WakeyCakey · 28/02/2013 18:52

Welcome Bartlet you sound like you have a very down to earth GP it's good to have support from all angles!

This is my first 2ww as cycles were so messed up. This one has been 24 days so far, so gone from 13,16,19 days to much longer. We shall see if AF shows up in the meantime.

I won't be devastated if I don't get a BFP as I still feel that I am getting into the swing of my cycles so don't mind if it takes a few months to get more regular

Although saying that having bad endo pain whenever I do come on so the quicker the better I guess!

Fairydogmother · 28/02/2013 12:44

Thank you!

Def just DTD as much as you can all month round and dont concentrate too much on when you think you are ovulating - the wee wrigglies hang around in there for a good few days!

123234345 · 28/02/2013 12:01

Grrr! Why couldn't I ovulate last week, when we had sex three times? Why does it have to be now, when my husband has been working silly hours all week, I've been out every evening and we've both had stinky colds?

In other news... Oh wow! Since I've last been on I see congratulations are in order Fairydogmother! Sorry to be a bit slow noticing.

Fairydogmother · 27/02/2013 22:06

Thank you!

ticktock1979 · 27/02/2013 21:52

Wow Fairydogmother that's terrific news.

Lets hope some of that good luck has passed onto others on this thread! Smile

Bartlet4America · 27/02/2013 16:45

Hi everyone :) hope you don't mind me joining you!

We have just started trying for a baby and I'm so excited! Probably a long road ahead (I have PCOS), but I can't help but feel excited anyway! I've got a pretty good GP who diagnosed me and said that when I want to conceive, just to go after three months and go on Clomid. Want to see if I can do it myself first!

My cycles are pretty out of wack so for the next couple of months I'm just going to DTD as much as possible and then, if BFP is still evading me, get serious!

marie456 · 26/02/2013 22:41

Our 4th cycle of ttc #1. Me and husband both 30. Came off microgynon in October 2012 and luckily got pretty regular cycle back straight away! Currently 6dpo. Am thinking I should somehow feel different if I was going to get a BFP, but so far nothing!! Am wishing the days away to AF/hopefully BFP!! Good luck ladies!!

WakeyCakey · 26/02/2013 21:54

Fingers crossed for you Jaffa!
DP told me last night after we DTD that he is sure we just made a baby, I was laughing until I used the ovulation stick and saw the smiley face.

He would love to be right! Not for the baby, just to be right Grin

jaffas2013 · 26/02/2013 20:56

Hehe, it is exciting but I'm also quietly panicking!

My hopes are starting to be dashed as my "symptoms" appear to be gradually going. Last weekend I was absolutely postitive that this was our month but i'm not so sure today :(

2xBFNS so far the last being today. Probably still waaaay to early tho. Just have to cross every that AF stays well away!

WakeyCakey · 26/02/2013 18:06

It's so exciting now. This is the first time it's felt real that were TTC

PistachioTruffle · 26/02/2013 17:02

Wakey, I would do it today, tomorrow and the next day just to be sure!

PopsceneBrooke · 26/02/2013 16:50

Hi everyone, may I join?

@Jaffas2013 i've been doing the same!

I'm 24 as is OH. Had implant removed in early Jan, had first AF on 19th Feb.

Looking forward to sharing all your journeys with you!
