Hello ladies

I would like to start a thread/bus/merry-go-round to meet, get support and share with ladies in the same boat as me:

TTC baby no 1!

Will you join me and see it through to the BFP?!

A bit about me - I'm 29, DP is 35. This will be our first child.

Bartlet when are you testing, I'm on the 12th if AF doesn't appear before that.
How are you keeping your mind off it? I have one of those iPhone apps but it tells me I'm 11 days late for AF as my cycles haven't been full since I started. Only Ov'd on cd23 which would seem to make this cycle 37 days so almost the same.

Bartlet4America · 03/03/2013 21:40

I am. Not feeling confident though, what with a 40 day cycle and all. :(

WakeyCakey · 03/03/2013 21:33

Well time is going slow! Who else is in the 2ww at the moment, I keep losing track

Bartlet4America · 03/03/2013 10:37

madratlady I wish!!! Got terrible back pains as well, I just know I'm going down with something. That or AF is going to be a bloody horrible one this month!

Bartlet4America · 03/03/2013 10:35

Hi everyone Smile hope you're weekends are going well and that you're relaxing!!

jaffa sorry about AF Sad keeping my fingers crossed for you for next month. It is frustrating as hell when it's all you can think about. Hope you start to feel a little more relaxed.

ticktock it WILL happen!! Smile I don't even consider an alternative, I find that helps when my mind leads me down certain roads... You shouldn't feel like a child though - sounds like you and your DH have built a very stable life for yourselves in terms of affording to have a baby, and I'll bet your relationship is strong and wonderful too. Not an easy thing to do and worth feeling good about!!

Juhannus · 03/03/2013 05:16

Jaffas thank you :)

you've helped me on one that was bugging lol Aunt Flo won't ever forget now haha

ticktock1979 · 02/03/2013 23:50

jaffas - I'm with you on the 'thinking everything is a symptom of pregnancy'. I think it's definitely a better idea to relax & see what happens - all this stress does our bodies & our minds no good.

My DH & I had an abortion 8 years ago after some pressure from family members as we'd only just got together. I am so worried that I have missed my only chance for being a mother. My friends & other family members are popping babies out left, right & centre & I feel like a child. Women around me are experiencing pregnancy & motherhood &, although I'm older than a lot of them, I feel young & inexperienced in that I haven't had a child.

Sorry if this is abit morbid & tmi for a Saturday. I feel so content now that we are TTC, I guess I'm just a little worried & impatient.

Smile keep smiling ladies, we'll all get there soon enough xxx

jaffas2013 · 02/03/2013 23:06

@ Madratlady.. Yes if you can keep that up all month then well done ;) I used them as it was my first cycle after being on the pill.

@ Juhannus, I'm fairly new as well but let me know what your confused with & i'll try to help.

Update... AF (aunt flo) has got me this month so back to square one :( But this time I think I need to forget about all the potential "symptoms" and just let it happen. I think I got myself in a bit of a mess thinking everything I felt must mean I'm pregnant. I started testing far too early which didnt help with my stress levels.

It's taken us 10 years to be financially stable enough to support a child and now I just want it all to happen yesterday! Fingers crossed next time is in our favour :) Good luck to all those testing soon

Juhannus · 02/03/2013 18:46

I'm new to mumsnet and am finding all the abbreviations really hard. Half the time I ain't got a clue what people are saying :(

I looked up the abbreviations list on here but it doesn't help.

Could someone kindly list a few so I can enjoy mumsnet at least

barkingtreefrog · 02/03/2013 17:49

Madrat - yes, that would work. For me though, it wasn't until I started charting that I realized I ovulate very late in my cycle and have a very short luteal phase. This could mean that I'm not producing progesterone for long enough to support a fertilized egg as AF comes too soon. The blood tests I had showed that I still hadn't ovulated on day 21 but I had by day 28. However this alone doesn't show when I did and how long my luteal phase is, so all the temping and ovulation testing I'm doing is to gather evidence for the fertility clinic. Hopefully they will then help me ovulate earlier in my cycle by giving me drugs!!

Madratlady · 02/03/2013 15:30

Sorry for my terrible ignorance ladies but am I right in thinking that as long as we DTD every 2 days then ovulation tests etc aren't really necessary? It wasn't until I found this forum that i realised that it was likely to take a few months at least Blush

Bartlet fingers crossed that your nausea and dizziness is something to get excited about and not just a bug!

jaffas2013 · 02/03/2013 11:53

@ WakeyCakey AF due today! at least I think it is... very confused with my cycles at the mo. I used the clear blue ovulation sticks (7 pack) got right to the last one before I got my smiley on the 16th of Feb but noticed I had EWCM the day before.

Today (sorry for TMI...) I have yellowish CM but no signs of AF at all. Had a horrible pressure headache for the past two days but seem's better today. I'm so tempted to rush out today and spend proper money on a test! I've just been using cheap ones so far but dont want to be dissapointed with another BFN.

Bartlet4America · 02/03/2013 10:15

Hi all Smile hope everyone is doing well!

I've woken up with really bad nausea and dizziness this morning, am hoping it's not a bug or something. That would throw my TTC mission right off ugh!

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 23:29

(Also copious amounts of choc and vino helped!!)

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 23:28

pistachio oh no, I feel for you. I found mine were bad after I came off the pill (a few yrs ago now) but it does get better x

PistachioTruffle · 01/03/2013 22:07

Bartlet, all the reviews I've seen have been very positive, I'll share my own mini review here after I've read it myself too!

This AF is horrific, they seem to be getting worse Sad I don't remember them being this bad before I went onto contraception. Horrid.

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 21:07

wakey I don't think I'm going to be able to resist testing! I'm just trying to pay attention to any symptoms of AF and keep a level head so that I don't get too carried away. I usually get all the headache-y nasty shit at least a week or so before she shows up, so we shall see!

WakeyCakey · 01/03/2013 20:37

And thanks barking I was pretty sure but it didn't seem long enough to test.
Mind you when I get pregnant before I tested after 6 days and got BFP! Strange how things happen! Alot has changes since then mind!

WakeyCakey · 01/03/2013 20:35

Yep bartlet looks like we are, exciting stuff. Hoping I can last the full 2 weeks before testing. I have a load that I bought online so there here to pee on making it even harder to resist!

barking I've been off the pill since new year and so far had cycles of 13 and 19 days and now this one where I know I ovulated on day 23 so totally irregular but I'm just putting that down to the pill and coming off it

Madratlady · 01/03/2013 19:09

Thanks barking I feel a bit better now :)

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 18:42

barking well fingers crossed that a BFP shows up for you soon!!

matradlady am envious of your regular periods!! Ugh mine are here, there and bloody everywhere!

wakey it looks like we'll be testing around the same time, that's if AF doesn't show up first! Fingers crossed

Madratlady · 01/03/2013 18:36

barking I've only been off the pill since December but I came on bang on time in jan. And I was regular before I went on the pill.

I hate the 2WW, I start imagining symptoms!

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2013 18:36

Barlet I'm currently on my 15th cycle of ttc and I've learnt quite a lot since I started!

Madratlday I've just seen on your thread that you only came off the pill in December. It's probably too early to know what your average cycle length is yet. I was anything from 24 to 28 days on my first few cycles after stopping the pill, then I was 37 days on the next cycle and was convinced I must be pg despite the BFN. It was torturous!!

Bartlet4America · 01/03/2013 18:29

sorry for seeming so stupid but it's so bloody confusing - added to the fact that my periods are not particularly regular anyway! Slim chance this month methinks! Thanks again barking

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2013 18:24

Hence lots of people on here referring to the dreaded 2ww....
