TTC for the first time

Hi all. I haven't been on for a bit because of such a busy week.

So I'm 11 days late for AF. BFN, BFN, BFN. So fed up! Feeling so rubbish.

Just want her to show up so we can start again. I've got terrible lower back pain and sore boobs, but no AF. WTF!

I'm still not due on AF for another 9 days but am symptom spotting like nobodies business... lower back pain, sore boobs, acid reflux/ heartburn... need to keep myself in check otherwise I am going to go mad! my DH even said to me yesterday 'Well maybe my stuff works fast and they're swelling already' when I said my boobs were sore!

Hello all, may I join? I'm 30, hubby 35 and we have been ttc since September 2012 for our first baby. According to my cycle am ovulating now, and AF will be due/ will be testing around 7th April. Is anyone else at a similar point? And is anyone else terrified of having a baby? X

Hi Pistachio, seem to be around 30-32 day cycle, and was regular as clockwork until my early period in February, so I suppose I'm day 37 today...And negative. Think i might have to give up hope for this cycle....but still no period. This really is such a roller coaster!

Boogles, perhaps if you ovulated late in your cycle there wouldn't be enough hcg to register yet? How long are your cycles normally?

So I'm now 5w since AF and still no show. Neg test yesterday. Bit low back pain today, never have back pain with AF. Do feel a little bit nauseous at times but suffer bit from IBS so not sure if its related or not. Anyone else with neg test at 5w and tuen out to be pregnant?! Really clutching at straws here, would love some stories to help.....:)

Poppy - no idea, I wonder whether you should ask a nurse or doctor?

I spoke to my GP about the cancelled referral to the fertility clinic and it was just a minor admin error. They've resubmitted the referral and I'll keep you posted as to what happens.

Hi girls, I am completely new to the forum, and not familiar with some of the abbreviations, so bear with me! I'm 32, hubby 34....off pill for well over a year now, been trying ie being careless for couple of months before Christmas and trying hard since Christmas. Previously 30ish day cycle but last one started almost a week early on 13/2/2013 and nothing since. Negative preg test again today....so disappointed

Hi all, I'm after some thoughts/advice please; firstly I apologise for tmi!I'm on cd15 and experienced some bleeding on cd13, it was bright red and enough to mark my knickers but no-more after that, cd14 I had a pink tinge to cm but woke up this morning to more red stuff and a min-period, seems to have dried up through the day and gone brown now &just a little when wiping. I'm charting and the chart reckons I ovulated on cd11 but from my temps I think it's more likely to be cd13. I've never had inter-cycle bleeding before, so I'm wondering if it may be ov related or bd related? (Bd'd cd 9, 11, 13 & 14). Googling far too much and not really finding a straight answer! I work shifts too Pistachio , I find the best time to did when i'm on nights is when DH gets in from work as we have a couple of hours together before I go out.

I really hope it happens for me this month. I took a cardigan I made for my friend's 4mo DD yesterday and it made me even more broody! My last cycle was 7 weeks though, 3 weeks late and getting bfns was so disappointing.

Got watery cm today, really feel like it won't be this month as I just can't see how we can dtd enough while I'm on night shifts - our work pattern jut doesn't cross over! I can see now though that I must ov later in my cycle than I thought, which makes sense as they are 36ish days. Ho hum.

I'm on CD11 and I'm having crampy feelings on one side of my tummy. Could they be ovulation pains?

Ticktock I'm not using OPKs because as I see it they won't make any difference to what I do (how often we dtd) and will just be something to obsess over. I plan to try them if we aren't successful in a few months though.

AF arrived yesterday - bang on schedule

I think on the positive side, this means that I can confidently say that they are back to normal after around 16 years on the pill (on & off).
I was just wondering if its enough to just count days to figure out when you are ovulating or if I should be using opks if I want to be serious in TTC? My SiL is due end of May/early June & I'm worried that I might not cope if I'm not pregnant by then!

Thanks Sairwa. I've been avoiding mumsnet since sfp arrived! I've had a busy weekend which hasn't given me time to think about it or be sad. That arrived today :-( We've been trying for what feels like forever but is only (!) 7 months. I've come to the conclusion that when it doesn't happen, I need to just let myself be sad (and disappointed, and jealous and angry) for however long it takes, then dust myself off and start again!

I'm 99.9% sure I was pregnant very briefly earlier this year; 5 days late, bfp, bleeding, bfp, more bleeding, bfn. So I'm holding onto that, at least it means it's possible for us.

Am more determined than ever to do it right this time and I'm getting conflicting advice about when and how often to do it. So I'd be grateful if anyone could give me their personal opinions. When and how often should we dtd? There's so much info out there online but what better than asking actual people?!

I know that silicon lube is bad but also read that spit is too. Is that true?!! We've got some special baby lube but OH isn't too keen on it.

Does lying flat on your back afterwards, doing headstands etc actually make a difference? If so, how long should you do it for? Thanks.

I've always knitted stuff for friends' kids in the past but haven't been able to face it in my state of obsessional broodiness!

I'd like to join you please. I'm 35 and ttc #1. This is our first month of trying and I am currently cd16.

I got a positive opk on Saturday so have estimated that I am 2dpo and in my first 2ww

We have been dtd frequently over the last 10 days but unfortunately didn't manage to dtd on sunday which i think is the day i actually ovulated but my cycles have been fairly regular (i've been tracking them for the last 9 months) so have estimated af is due 30/31st March so will test 1st April if no af and keep my fingers tightly crossed for a bfp!!

according to my cycle calculator, I Ovulated yesterday, and am due on in 13 days, so it's my first ever 2ww! exciting! X

Any time before when I have convinced myself of the slightest pregnancy symptom & trawled through endless videos on the Internet, they always go for the 'missed period' route - sometimes it's hard to wait that long!

I work shifts and night shifts ( actually just finished 7 horrific nights) and I have found that I've ovulated pretty much as I would expect to have done. Not sure the OH was massively impressed with waking him up at all hours though just to dtd at the right time! ;)
Sure it's overall pretty bad for us but I don't think it directly affects cycles too much.

I'm now 5dpo and feel totally normal. Does anyone know when any symptoms would start? I'm guessing once implantation has happened?

I think I'm due to ovulate next week, while I'm on night shifts. Working around that should be interesting! DoeS anyone know if night shifts would interrupt/delay ovulation at all?

That is very useful information, thank you! I'd been avoiding drinking completely during 2ww and everyone has been getting terribly suspicious (not too suspicious however, because I've been doing it for a year now which would be a very long gestation period).

Today I had a letter from the NHS Choose and Book service because my GP has referred me to the fertility clinic. It is a very cryptic letter saying that my appointment has been cancelled but they can't tell me why and I need to contact the person who referred me. Since they hadn't contacted me and therefore I hadn't booked an appointment in the first place, it's quite cryptic. The mysteries of NHS admin! Will keep you all posted.

Still no AF!! And still BFNs. If I've not started AF by next Friday, I'm going back to the doctors to talk about Clomid because with cycles like this, I'll never manage it!
