glass you are real source of great information! would you know which test is the most sensitive?

lilyholdin20 · 11/01/2013 21:43

Oh i do hope so !! Thankyou :D Could do with a glass of something to calm my nerves but ill give that a miss just incase! :D
One more quick question if anyone knows, if you did have a MC after doing a pregnancy test would you not bleed? Not to sure about that one as you would be so early! Hope iv not had one :( :(

Sainsburys ones are also made at Unipath in Bedford using the same robot machines as Clearblue. It's just older tech that's all. There is no way that there can be a trend to have false positives wit Sainsburys ones for the reasons ive already said. HCG is ONLY produced when you're pregnant. So if you wee and it makes a stick have a line, you must have HCG in your wee. so you must be pregnant.

fiddlemethis · 11/01/2013 21:36

ooo, how exciting! I hope you are and congrats if you have already tested again!

GlassTrees · 11/01/2013 21:35

In which case, I can confidently say, having worked for 6 years at Unipath in Bedford (google it!) that you are DEFINITELY pregnant. That are NO SUCH THINGS as any false positives. (Unless someone very sadly loses a pregnancy very soon after doing the test).

Hurrah for you and your baby! I will offer you a virtual Wine!!! Xxxx

I just did some searching online and saw that the digital Sainsburys test are known for false positives and that's what I used. Poo

I guess I kinda expected this as when I had DD I had strong positive on every test even before AF was due. Sad glad I didn't tell DH.

good luck Lily update when u know!

lilyholdin20 · 11/01/2013 21:27

Really!? Oh i do hope so !! iv just heard a few people on these forums saying they have had fake positives! i know my tests arnt evap lines as they are perfect blue lines! GlassTrees

Hello! I I used to work for the company that makes Clearblue and also the hospital and supermarket brand ones.

I can tell you an Actual Fact. You CANNOT make a test turn even ever so faintly positive if you're not pregnant. The hCG hormone which is the hormone detected by the test is ONLY produced if you're pregnant, never at any other time, ever.

So regardless of whatever test you've used, if you have even a slight line that suggests positive, then you ARE producing hCG and therefore YIU ARE PREGNANT. FACT.

Yay!!! Congratulations!!!!GrinThanks

Ginshizz · 11/01/2013 21:22

Yes, I got a positive on a FRER at 9 DPO but BFNs on clear blue until 16 DPO. I fell pg with IVF so I know my dates!

Could you have ovulated later than CD14?

lilyholdin20 · 11/01/2013 21:20

ah i see! maybe you should leave it a few days than! im a bit iffy about these sainsbury tests! i have heard of false positives with them although my doctor said you will never get a false positive. Dont know what to believe! TTChristmasstyle i'll be testing inthe morning, got one cheapie poundland one left! If still negative ill just wait it out !

OP posts:
lilyholdin20 · 11/01/2013 21:18

oh really? that gives me some hope! soo frustrating all this waiting!

OP posts:
TTChristmasstyle · 11/01/2013 21:17

I'm not sure to be honest, maybe only a day so I really might getting getting my hopes up falsely-. I haven't said anything to DH just in case the positive . one was an error.

when will u test again Lily?

Ginshizz · 11/01/2013 21:17

Hmmm. I think you need to give the hcg at least 4 hrs to build up if you are not POASing in the morning.

It does sound like you are pg I reckon!

FWIW I had bfps on FRERs for days before I got one on a clear blue!

lilyholdin20 · 11/01/2013 21:14

i did the digi blue in the morning, 7:20am and the poundland one about 3clock in afternoon!

OP posts:
Ginshizz · 11/01/2013 21:13

Oh, and if you peed on the poundland one straight after the digi one, then you may well have used all your hcg in the digi one so there might not have been enough to register on the poundland one.

Smile
