We've filled out thread - I do hope you all find your way here. I can't add a message on the old thread to let you know it is here...Smile

This new thread, will no doubt have its own set of bfp's and babies. I am excited to see what it brings.

sorry i didnt come on here last night but had a banging headache and had to go to bed early Angry

oohhh diege massive congratulations! Grin it IS good news, we always make the best of things - and i also believe things happen for a reason. Aaaand it is textbook that you and DH had decided that you were 'taking your eye off the ball' so to speak. Its like all the annoying fecker grannies say 'oo once you relax it will happen'

CaliBee · 19/02/2013 11:41

Lovely news Diege...so pleased for you.

Lots of BFP's for now. Its lovely...x

TinaO99 · 19/02/2013 11:30

just popping on to say congratulations to Diege fantastic news!! And really sorry to Isabeller for the bfn, hope the frozen cycle goes well

Diege · 19/02/2013 11:22
Grin
calendargal · 19/02/2013 11:18

Grin I'd be hammering on your door for them!

Diege · 19/02/2013 11:07

Thanks for the flowers and thanks guys Grin. Calendargirl I agree that if your temps are high 18dpo you are almost certainly pregnant. It's a shame you don't live next door too or I'd be hammering on your door with my bag o' tests Grin

calendargal · 19/02/2013 11:04

greenlizard, yes I temp - that's how I know I am 18dpo. For my last two pgs I have tested at 18dpo and known that I was pg before getting the +ve test. As soon as I go over my LP I know I am pg - although LP has been a bit weird lately. I would def be testing now if I had tests in the house - as it is, I have a fatalistic feeling about it...

greenlizard · 19/02/2013 10:38

Ps. calendergal I really don't know how you can bear the suspense waiting for tests in the post!! You are a stronger woman than I. Do you temp at all?

greenlizard · 19/02/2013 10:37

Stupid phone! I was responding to your post about going to test and after I posted it updated the news!! Massive congratulations - I am so thrilled to you! Clearly was meant to be x

greenlizard · 19/02/2013 10:33

Oh good luck diege I have every thing crossed for you.

JBrd · 19/02/2013 10:25

Diege Thanks Thanks Thanks

Congratulations, great news! I'm so happy for you!

Well, then gum and calendargal eyes on you next Grin!

calendargal · 19/02/2013 10:21

Congratulations Diege - I'm glad the first response was Grin It's like that flip a coin thing isn't it? Whatever the result, your heart will know what result you wanted. Somehow I knew yours would be a bfp. Lol at your ds drinking dirty water in the bathroom Shock

I would be testing today too (18DPO for me, which is when I've tested in the past) but my sticks are in the post. I am certain I am pg now - unless someone can come up with another reason for being 18DPO and no AF?? I am actually goggle-eyed with panic, because the timing is really poor - I'm aware of the irony of joining a conception thread and then reacting like this to a potential pregnancy, but I honestly expected that it might take up to a year to conceive and that we had no time to lose.

Jbrd - commiserations on your sinuses. I am full of cold too - though nothing like as bad.

Diege · 19/02/2013 10:20

Thank you Gum!!! I will have to try hard to keep this to myself. Of course there is a very high chance that things will go wrong (I'm being realistic) but I would prefer for dh never to know if that were the case I think. So I will just wait it out, see if my symptoms increase, STOP temping and weeing on my 49 sticks, UNLESS I see spotting. I'm so glad I have you lot Grin
Have to say Gum it did feel odd to think that there's a woman in Australia who was waiting for me to wee on a stick - I really wish you were next door! Fingers crossed for bump-buddydom Grin
Calendergirl I think you are due to test too?

hopefulgum · 19/02/2013 10:14

OMG! I can't help it, Deige, I have to congratulate you! If your first response was Grin then I think everything will be alright, won't it? Of course you feel panicky. You weren't planning it, but I think babies have a way of finding us whether we are planning it or not Grin.

I am grinning from ear to ear, and crossing my fingers that all will be well, and that your DH will be happy too.

Oh..and I bags the next BFP so that Deige and I can be bump buddies Smile Smile Smile

Diege · 19/02/2013 10:08

Ok, the results are in...it's a bfp ShockConfused Shock. The line is fainter than the control but definitely there, even if held at arm's length. Came up in about 3 mins. First response was Grin but am now feeling a bit panicky.
Have to take dds and friend to cinema now so I can think it through in the darkness with Wreck It Ralph as background!

hopefulgum · 19/02/2013 09:54

Hurry up Deige's dd!!! I want to know, I want to know...(stamps feet)

OP posts:
Diege · 19/02/2013 09:54

jbrd be careful as the greenish stuff signifies an infection, although it does seem that your body is sorting it out anyway...
dd nearly done, so will go and wee!

JBrd · 19/02/2013 09:49

greenlizard Good luck with the 2WW! Will be following with interest, we need more bfps on here! Smile
And I'm also very Envy at your Bermuda trip! We used to do nice and exotic trips all the time before DS came along (wistful sigh). And now... ah well. I'm still looking forward to our Centre Parks break next week, I intend to make full use of their spa facilities! Surely, having massages and sauna and facials etc will help to get rid of the illnesses, right?! Wink

Diege Has the postman been?!? Hopefully, your DH will be able to cope with whatever the news. Wouldn't it be ironic to have an accident, after you decide to officially stop trying ttc...?

Thanks everyone for their well wishes - I am feeling a bit better today, and my sinuses have stopped hurting. Instead, it appears now that (sorry for the gross tmi) they are expelling everything. I cannot believe the amount of bright yellow-green snot that I have been producing! It's disgusting, but at least it's coming out.
I'm back at work today, will have to see how it goes. I can cope much better now that the pain has gone, but will keep a close eye on it. I agree with everyone that the last thing I want now is another infection!

Diege · 19/02/2013 09:47

Postman has arrived and they are here - all 50 of them! Have about 2 hrs of wee saved up (tmi) so will give it a go when dd gets out of the bathroom. Wish me luck!!!!

Diege · 19/02/2013 09:09

Hi! Greenlizard I often get delayed temp rises after ov - I think Toni Weschler (?) calls it a stairway pattern? Do you temps/monitor fit with dtd?
Thanks for the advice about dh everyone - I'm sure he will be ok,though I'll have to let it sink in for him. If pregnant I do feel a bit responsible as I assured him we were safe (I hadn't imagined I would ovulate on cd9 after it being cd 16 the mth before!) but I know it happens (friend of mine had her 3rd at 48 and dtd once that mth on cd 8). The fmu was ready and waiting until I got a shout from dh in the bathroom - 'S (ds2) is drinking some dirty water in a cup under the bath - can you get his drink cup!!!' Shock Most of it had spilled thankfully but will have to make do with a later wee!
Thanks for advice of waiting Gum - it does make sense to wait a bit, plus dh thinks I'm having af (had some spotting last week which I had assumed was af) Confused.

greenlizard · 19/02/2013 08:05

Morning all

Well my temperature was up this morning so obviously a delayed temp rise after O? Still using my CBFM as instructed to do so by the machine but still getting highs. Will keep using OPK's until confirmed temp rise after 3 days but I can see from the sticks (IC's) that the surge is well and truly passed. So looks like I am into another 2WW Hmm I will not be obsessing extra vigilant this time round, no ladies I will be an oasis of calm, quietly humming que sera under my breath ......

hopeful seems like we are still lined up on our cycles if you O'd yesterday? Will you be encouraging joining me in this approach? Grin Sounds like perfect DTD timing for the fellas being lined up and ready for your egg(s)....fingers crossed!

calibee I had those tests done as part of my overall fertility check up at my GP....she tested me for just about everything under the sun but I remember those in particular (as well as the regular FSH, LH etc) - didn't give it much thought at the time. Sounds like a good idea to get everything checked out if you can - I am definitely the school of you can't know too much!

jbrd definitely you should see your doc....that sounds horrifically painful and you really don't want to get a nasty infection!

sparkly thinking of you and hope you are ok and remnant hope you are ok as well - such difficult times for different reasons. Hope you are taking care of yourselves and are getting some support.

Diege I will be checking my phone at work today to see your update (hurry up postman!!) If you were actively trying until recently, I bet your DP will be thrilled (once he gets over the Shock!) ooooh, i am very excited for you!

Have a great day everyone...

hopefulgum · 19/02/2013 07:54

Calibee, I had those tests after my second miscarriage and both were normal. It can't hurt to get them checked because they are easily sorted out I think.

Deige, I see what you mean about your DH. I also completely understand waiting it out a few weeks before saying anything. I don't think it is mean, just sensible.

Hasn't the bloody post come yet....(finger tapping on the desk)...

CaliBee · 19/02/2013 07:40

I forgot to say...I have booked a gp appointment to check my thyroid funtion and blood sugars for diabetes etc. I was advised at EPAU at my last appointment that it can be a good idea to get these levels checked when ttc as they can have a detrimental affect on fertility. Particularly hyperthyroidism which can interfere with cycles making them longer or shorter. Has anybody else had these done?

CaliBee · 19/02/2013 07:36

Hello to all.
diege that must be quite a dilemma. However, maybe faced with what you both strived not so long ago DH will have a change of heart? I hope so.
gum I think your monitor is still getting to know you. At least you are getting peaks...not just endless highs. Good luck for those little fellas being in the right place at just the right time.
lizard..very Envy of your Bermuda trip. How lush. I wonder if maybe your body geared up to ovulate but didnt make it on this occasion. Keep an eye on cm and maybe do more opk's if you notice any ewcm (or even imagine you do)...your body may have another go at it.

Stats Calibee aged 43 (just) DP 23 Blush ttc 10months for our first together. #1 for DP #4 for me. First round of clomid =bfp in Dec sadly mmc at 10weeks. Tentatively dipping toe back in....

Diege · 19/02/2013 06:56

Morning Smile. Don't worry gum will update when I have news. I am a little worried about dh's reaction as,although we were ttc until quite recently, we both decided we had enough (dcs) and felt happy with our lot. He has been quite excited about when our nursery fees will reduce, etc etc and recently said he was glad about the decision we made to stop. I think (if it was a bfp) that I would sit it out for at least a few weeks in case it comes to nothing - is that mean? Anyway, better get the test first Blush
jbrd I was in hospital a few years ago with sinusitus as I had let an infection fester without treatment (I was pregnant with ds1). I have never felt so ill,so please get you to the gp and some anti bs if you think it is sinuses xx
Gum your dtd timing seems spot on - very excited for you. You are still ovulating so very much game on, just a case of that golden egg xx
remnant thought of you when I woke this morning and wondered how you were getting on? It's a really awful time, the waiting it out Sad.
Love to all, and will be back later x
