We've filled out thread - I do hope you all find your way here. I can't add a message on the old thread to let you know it is here...Smile

This new thread, will no doubt have its own set of bfp's and babies. I am excited to see what it brings.

Drwho (virtual hug to you hun)...up and downs seems to follow ttc does it not???

Green I don't have any experience in ivf but just wanted to say hi and I can totally sympathize with the need to seat down with the high price!!!

Back to bed after many herbs for the bruises...when I put my nightie last night dh saw the bruises and for a moment I thought maybe should have it checked at the hospital???
But decided otherwise, as nothing is broken just bruised...hence herbs ...and because I am left hand I can still type here ( albeit with typos!!)

If you have a vaccum cleaner kick it for me!!! Lol

DoctorWhoFan · 05/02/2013 09:25

Thanks honey. It's just been a long road, and I haven't yet conquered my anxiety to go and sign on at a new doctors. So no tests. I need to make phone calls today regarding the water rates etc., and it's sending me into a panic. I feel so sodding pathetic - you can tell my hormones have taken a dip, can't you? Right, I'm going to make those calls while I still can

greenlizard · 05/02/2013 09:17

Sorry you are feeling so down about it drwho it is so tough. Sending you a virtual hug. x

DoctorWhoFan · 05/02/2013 09:11

Morning green. No theres no need for me to test as I can feel af arriving, the bitch. But to be honest, I didn't think for a moment I was pregnant this month as no symptoms whatsoever. It's so unfair, cos I was ovulating.., and we had so much sex that I thought my lady bits would never recover, and now we have to do it all again this month. This will be my 25th cycle. I'm wondering whether I should just give up to be honest. But the idea makes my eyes prick with tears. I just want one child with my beloved DP, that's all... Sad

greenlizard · 05/02/2013 08:53

Morning all

14DPO and still a fecking BFN!! No additional signs of impending AF as I am still cramping away, can't tell about my EWCM yet as dtd last night. Temps dropped to 36.65 which is still well above coverline but could be the start of the drop. I was getting quite hopeful yesterday but I feel less optimistic today Sad If it is coming I wish it would just get on with it....this waiting is painful (and time consuming what with all the knicker checking going on!)

Had a chat with DP about where we are going next ahead of my docs appointment this morning and we have decided to go for a consultation at a fertility clinic to see what the next steps might be for us. He is very nervous about assisted conception (his BF and wife split up over the stress of their IVF treatments and ended having the worlds most bitter divorce - so he is not keen!) Obviously being old folk we will be paying for this so he was looking at the price list and nearly had kittens! The success rates for IVF in my age group (43-44) are a woeful 3% and one total cycle will cost about £3,500 Shock I worry that he is going to get cold feet about it.

Has anyone tried IVF? What are your experiences of any other assisted conception? Any advice?

Did you test this morning drwhofan or are you disciplined?

Hopeful yesterday sounded like a very stressful day for you and you LO...you know that in no time at all he will be running into kindergarten without a care in the world but I can't imagine how difficult it must be him to see him so upset. Sorry it sounds like this isn't your month.

notsoold my mum has a fridge magnet that says "Housework never killed anyone but why take the chance?".....there might be something in that! Hope your bumps and bruises are not feeling too bad.

Well done calibee for surviving your first day back at work, I am sure it will get easier from now on.

Isabeller still got everything crossed for you. xxxx

Hello to everyone else..

DoctorWhoFan · 05/02/2013 07:19

Ouch notsoold, hope you're ok? That sounded painful.

Gum, it aint over until the fat lady and all that...well, I'm warming up my vocal pipes (I was actually a singer once!) for myself, cos clear watery cm notwithstanding, I can feel af gearing up for today is the day the witch comes to break my buzz yet another month. If I ever get a bfp, I think I may just die from shock!

Happy Tuesday all...

notsoold · 04/02/2013 22:35

Calibee xxx
Isabeller xxx and fx for you

Saphire and deige...hi there

notsoold · 04/02/2013 22:33

Gum fx for you tomorrow!!!
I know what you mean being the older mum at the playground...i stress about that and other social things...

Calibee...can't kick the thing as foot is hurting. At least ds made my a cup pf the most sugary tea( 2 heaped tsps of sugar) and a kit kat. He said that I needed it. Lol....
Dh and I dtd when possible around ov ( cbfm played up, but still...)
I never ever in all our years of marriage shagged that poor man as much since ttc...

CaliBee · 04/02/2013 22:17

Awww gum it sounds like your having a bit of a downer just now. Just flying in quickly before bed to wish you a lovely day and hope that you manage to fit it all in. You strike me as one of those people who performs better whilst busy....."if you want a job doing, ask a busy lady " comes to mind.
By the way...I hated the playground, even when I was a young mum...should I ever be priviledged enough to stand there again I will be keeping myself absolutely to myself.
notsoold oh my...hope you're ok. Give that hoover a damn good kicking....

hopefulgum · 04/02/2013 21:59

Ouch notsoold, bugger about falling down the stairs, but clumsiness in pregnancy - I definitely believe that one.

Greenlizard and Drwhofan, the EWCM thingy sounds promising. I hope you both get BFP's, how nice that would be. I'll be insanely Envy but I'll also be really happy for you Smile.

So, I am 9/10ths definitely not pregnant, the only thing that hasn't sealed the deal is I haven't got my period yet. But there's not the slightest tenderness in the Biscuit Biscuit's and temperature has dropped below cover line. C'est la vie,a there's nout I can do about it.

Besides I have enough stress going on this week what with juggling half kindy days, daycare and teaching. DS's first afternoon at kindy was a bloody nightmare. He was the only child who gripped tightly to his mama, screaming bloody murder when I tried to leave. Two teacher's assistants had to claw him off me. It was harrowing to say the least. The worst of it is I have to teach period one this morning, and DS's school is a 10-15 minute drive from my school. I start teaching at 9.50 and I can't leave him before 8.30. I am really worried about having to do the drop off in a hurry with a reluctant child. Hence I was awake at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I can see my first day of teaching will be a struggle. And to top it off I have been given (thanks a bunch admin team)a year nine health class and I am teaching them reproduction Blush I know it is going to be excrutiating. What did I do in my last life to deserve this???? At least I do know a tonne about ttc, but I'm not sure that we need to get into the likes of what supplements to take, how acupuncture might help etc, when it is all about teaching them to use contraception so those young spritely sperm stay the fuck away from their sparkling jewel-like eggs....It is going to interestingGrin

Oh, and waiting to pick up DS yesterday, I felt positively ancient - every other mama looked at least 10 years younger than me and there was a fair share of baby bumps too. I felt like the proverbial fish...Sad...(out of water)

Deige, glad to hear everyone is well again, and as for the marking...you have my sympathies, but I know how lovely the extra cash will be.

Ieabeller, that was so pretty, what you did for calibee - well done. And cali - glad you survived your first day back at work.

Right, I'm off to peruse some of the other threads, as I have mountains of time up my sleeve having gotten up at sparrow's fart Grin

Drwho...holy moly indeed...lol

notsoold · 04/02/2013 21:03

Congratulations Calibee...
Dr who...hi again!!!
Hi everybody! I went upstairs to write my little piece earlier and decided to go downstairs with the vacuum cleaner and fell half a flight of stairs As I am round as a gorgeous ball I bounced everywhere bruising both arms and a ankle! My right wrist is also bruised and in bandages. My ribs hurt a bit and my back has black marks...and my bottom is bruised...
Should have stayed upstairs on mumsnet!
DH reckons I am pregnant as I always have a bad fall when pregnant. But although I wanted to write here that we are dpo9 and symptoms galore ( minus boobs- therefore bad news...) I could not resist and poas and got a fat fat fat bfn!
So lesson for today...leave the vacuum cleaner alone and go shagging or stay on the thread

Sorry not namechecking but always reading the posts

CaliBee · 04/02/2013 19:44

Giggling at drwhofan....personally I miss it like hell. I think I send DP back to barracks more worn out than when hes arrived home for r&r....oopsie

DoctorWhoFan · 04/02/2013 19:16

Oh Diege, thanks love. Glad to hear everyone's getting better in your household. You've had more than your fair share of illness lately, haven't you?

Thanks for the nice words Calibee. I keep hoping it might happen for me. Frankly, much as I adore my DP, all that shagging....holy moly! Phooey!

CaliBee · 04/02/2013 18:49

Drwhofan..ah well I cant say I blame you...the offender appears to have scuttled off, tail between her legs lol. Silly silly person. lol. Hey...never say never. Somebody is due a BFP ..it could just be you x

Ooh that is pretty isabeller Grin. May I add my congratuations too calibee Thanks - you've got a good-un there - and also pleased for you that the dreaded first day is over and done with x
Fingers crossed for everyone waiting to test - anxious/exciting times. I have a feeling there'll be a bfp in the next week or so - we are due one!
Ok here - all dcs finally well and I'm in the process of getting cleared to mark for the exam scripts I'm doing on top of usual job. Very stressful but oh so worth it for the money Grin
Love to all x

DoctorWhoFan · 04/02/2013 18:33

Hey Calibee. Glad to hear you survived your first day back.have decided to avoid the larger ladies ttc thread as it just seems to be a magnet for people with body issues to come and bully others.

I'm usually dry just before my period, never had watery cm, or anything approaching it before. I'm pretty certain I'm not pregnant though (unfortunately). I just don't think it's ever going to happen for me :(

Isabeller · 04/02/2013 18:13

Thanks Calibee Thanks
BiscuitThanksThanksThanksBiscuit

CaliBee · 04/02/2013 18:07

Thankyou so much for all your congrats...you are all so lovely. Blush I will of course update you should anymore be said.
As far as work was concerned...I survived...that is all!!!!!
To those experiencing ewcm after ovulation...as far as I know its quite normal. It is one of the effects that the hormone producing corpus luteum has on our bodies. I actually noticed more of it during two of my pregnanancies. In fact with the recent one, fertility friend only said "possibility" of ovulation on cd16 due to the appearance of fertile cm after temp rise etc.

NewPatchesForOld · 04/02/2013 17:45

Calibee...I have just logged on to catch up on the news and saw yours...congratulations! That's a lovely thing to read, so happy for you.

Sorry, haven't had time to read all the posts, but will catch up later, but a big hello to everyone, and will name check later when I've caught up.

As for me, I am now on 8DPO and AF is due on Saturday so we are getting into the 'testing' time period again. I have managed to escape symptom spotting so far, but I will be back to POAS for the next 6 days!

Anyway, hello and a big wave from me to you all.

x

sparklysapphire · 04/02/2013 15:42

Wow isabeller, how exciting that you have a little embryo on board. The 2ww must seem like it'll last forever though!

Calibee, excellent news that the m/c seems to have resolved itself without intervention. I hope work has been better than anticipated, your colleague sounds quite unplesant. But a proposal from your lovely DP, how lovely, even if you decide against it for now.

Miasmum, lovely to hear from you, and glad to hear Finn is doing well. I hope you're able to ttc again soon - I have no experience of c-section so can't advise.

Good to hear from blackcats as well, even though you feel your ttc journey is over, it's good to know that you've found peace without a LO.

Hopeful, the schools here get a break in summer for 6 weeks, but it's just that time flies. I have no idea what happened to January. I hope you're first day with the kids is ok (I have many teachers/former teachers in my family) and DS's first day at kindergarten has gone well.

Smile at morien's DSS coming to say hello in the middle of the night, I sympathise, DD comes into see us occasionally because she's decided she doesn't want to be on her own. This usually ends with me going back to her room with her, falling asleep on her floor and waking cold and stiff at 5am.

green, there's still hope for a BFP, yes? I fully understand your rant about medical receptionists, they're not always the most sympathetic are they? I haven't been to the doctor's today because I'm ill Hmm, I've got a horrible cold which it didn't seem fair to spread at the doctor's which would already be full of ill people. I'm hoping for a better night tonight and will definitely go tomorrow if I'm feeling better. But increasingly I feel that this pregnancy is so similar to my first one, symptoms-wise, that I'll be very surprised if it's viable Sad.

Hi to irish, calendar, drwho, and apologies to anyone I've missed.

DoctorWhoFan · 04/02/2013 13:52

Wotcha notsoold...how's you?

DoctorWhoFan · 04/02/2013 13:51

Hey greenlizard, I've been like that (almost - it's been the clear watery stuff I get when I ovulate, I don't get ewcm) for the last almost a week! I know I ovulated on cd13. I'm due to start my period tomorrow, and I rarely have any cm coming up to my period...no feckin' idea what's going on!

notsoold · 04/02/2013 12:36

Morning all...can't not name check but just to say hi to tou all...xxxx
