Hi Mrs BC!

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 21:04

Hi MrsB

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 21:03

no worries thunder well it sounds like it is gradually fading so it sounds right I guess, i think people vary and some get darker lines than others, it may be that your second line will always be quite dark, I think it has to be darker than the control to show the LH surge. Or maybe you are just uber fertile this month? Ive only been using OPKs for one month so im afraid my knowledge is pretty limited. Confused

Mrsblackcar · 08/01/2013 20:52

Hi,

Also a newbie, really excited at the ttc idea.

I have been reading Mumsnet on and off for over a year, waiting for the right time to start trying!

Here hoping it goes well for everyone and we get our BFPs soon

Mrs BC

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 20:49

Thank you moc. So every day the second line was super faint. Then on sun it was really dark, but mostly on the edge- darker than control definitely. Mon was similar, with a darker edge (marginally fainter than sun) and the rest about the same as control. Then today it's about the same as the control line. So a bit fainter than yest but definitely a much stronger line than before the weekend.

Am I being stoopid here?! Maybe I really am still in wtfville?

fl0 do it!

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 20:45

good luck fl0 Smile fx

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 20:44

Hi Thunder no worries, you should always have 2 lines on an OPK, you are waiting for the faint second line to turn darker than the control line, that shows your LH surge. The LH surge happens 12 - 48 hours before you OV, mine peaked on day 14 last month when the line suddenly got hugely dark then over the next 3 days it dropped back to a faint line. How does your second line look? Is it still darker than the control line?

fl0b0t · 08/01/2013 17:45

Woah, I blinked and look how busy this thread is! block sounds like a rollercoaster, will you stay in touch from America?! Sounds like sunny (i think it was, blown away by blocks news!) And I am having similar wtf af (great phrase) with limits brown discharge but no af proper! Prob not due til tomorow (i seem to have a v short cycle), had awful sore boobs for over a week and feeling very laid low today. Could be a cold and bad gas....? But feeling crap. Might poas tonight as we've got guests from tomorrow and I.want to get it out of the way.....

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 16:57

Can anyone shed done light with opks again- sorry I know I'm demanding...

So I got my line on Sun, hooray! Kept testing though every day, presuming that line would disappear and it's still there! It's a bit fainter but def still there. Got mixed messages from google sesh- does anyone know what this means? A lot of discussions on google said ov likely to happen shortly after first line and that many packs advise you to stop testing after this to avoid this confusion.....

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 15:03
Sad

Arse, sorry block

Not sure about dr- do they do any tests with long cycles or are they likely to send you home and tell you to wait it out?

Blockette · 08/01/2013 14:54

:( -ve

ah well, one lot of excitement is enough for one month I suppose.

How long should I let this WFT cycle run before going to a doctor though? a week late (so 38 days) is a bit long with a -ve test, nothing has been different over the past few months ... my last WTF cycle was in October 43 days ...

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 08/01/2013 13:59

Wow Block!! That's huge news and a lot to take in and think about. But it sounds like an amazing opportunity!!

Have u poas yet?!!

I'm not going to poas until next week - in a way it's been quite nice waiting to ov - the 2ww has turned into a 1ww!!! (not that I'm any more patient but I'm going with the positives!!)
I don't think it has worked out this time - I've not been feeling 100% over the last few weeks, and cbfm says I didn't ov - BUT it could have missed it and I could be wrong clinging onto hope

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 13:08

And, block?!!

Ps super bonus not having to work. Can I come?!

Elektra83 · 08/01/2013 12:13

Ahh Block that is fantastic news! Congratulations...it's scary but will be a good move. I lived in NY for just over a year and loved every minute of it. The health care system was fantastic - if you have insurance that is. Really expensive if you don't (I imagine you will have insurance though!)

Have you POAS yet?

Smile
Blockette · 08/01/2013 12:02

TBH with the pay rise I wont have to work! - Bonus! Wink

You know what - I think I will! I'll just get a cheap one .. cause they don't count right?

  • I do feel a bit sicky today, but then I haven't have time to eat anything yet after that shock!

I don't know how I feel about the TTC bit, but it makes sense I guess, as it will be quite stressful anyway and we don't really know how the heath care system works over there yet, so need to think about that too.

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 11:41

That is SO exciting then, block. And you can move jobs ok? What an adventure! How do you feel about delaying the active ttc?

Sure you shouldn't Poas today after all just to be sure Wink

Blockette · 08/01/2013 11:28

Thanks Mother - Still in shock really, and more complicated as I have a horse that would need shipping over too, If we stay for the long haul.

Thunder - It was always on the cards for about 5 years time, but not this year and not this quick!

It could be 2 years or it could be permanent, depending on how we like it (I've only ever been to Disney land when I was 7! I've never seen "real" america).

Payrise is lovely though ... double what he is on now + they would pay for us to rent over there on top, and they pay for flights to come back home 2wice a year, so we get to keep our house here for when we come home. - It's exciting, and the best time to do it really - If it is going to happen, its best to do it before we are too old, or have children in schools I suppose - It's just the shock about how quick its all happening - 2 months!! wow! Going to speak with his family tonight, as that is his biggest issue (only child/grandchild), my family have my brother, and we have always moved around a bit so although I would miss them, they wouldn't stop me going, or make me feel guilty.

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 10:56

fuls POAS is never daft in my humble opinion, it helps me stay sane(ish) and not over analyse.

Block wow that is HUGE news, how do you feel about it? Or are you in shock? I would be excited BUT it is a huge adjustment, I don't take change well fingers crossed he gets a HUGE payrise to go with it! Grin

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 10:11

Oh goodness block that's huge! Is this completely out of the blue? How long would you be going for?

Blockette · 08/01/2013 10:03

Well - DH has just called and put a spanner in the works - He's been offered a Job in America, to start in 2 months! WHAT!?!

So he's now told me that he thinks we should stop actively TTC and just "see what happens" at least for the next few months while we sort out what we will do about America, and if we do go, he would want time to settle in and know how things work there first, without the added stress of TTC.

Will find out more later this week when he's back. - but that might mean I'm out, and not for the good reasons :(

In the meantime ... still no AF so will re-test tomorrow. Although not feeling any symptoms so don't have my hopes up -just a wtf cycle I think.

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 10:03

Yeah just test, fuls. And speaking of just testing.....block....?!

Blockette · 08/01/2013 09:42

Fuls Just do it! - If you feel silly, then don't get your hopes up and laugh at yourself if its a -ve, but at least you wont have that nagging feeling any more at the back of your mind.

It's unlikely that its +ve but you just never know!

Fuls · 07/01/2013 17:43

quick question

how early can you get pregnancy symptoms?

I cannot possibly be pregnant I'm CD13 and since having implant removed in August my cycles have been 27-35 days but the last 2 days I have felt sick, my boobs really hurt and I'm just so tired! could it be ovulation symptoms because I've also had cramps and sharp pains in my lower abdomen. I don't want to poas cuz I feel a bit silly and maybe I'm just reading into things and I've probably got norovirus!!!!!!

Thunderthunderthundercats · 07/01/2013 15:09

It may be a bit cheeky, block, but I would have to do it- I'd just need to know! But if you will be really gutted by bfn, maybe wait? Personally I just like to know either way and I will be rooting for you if you decide to test!

First cycle for me since mmc and wtf bleeding since Nov, and first time using opks, got a line last night- was so excited! Will poa opk again today, but really hoping that it is ov and I'm getting back to normal. Yesterday was CD14 since last bleed, so could even be a proper cycle..!!! Didn't dtd enough in the few days prior to +ive so prob not much chance this month but am just pleased that I might be working again. plus I'm about to start a new job so in theory shouldn't be ttc again til I start, but I can't help it- for the sake of my own sanity

Blockette · 07/01/2013 15:02

I'm normally 30/31 days so pretty regular, apart from the first month off the pill, but that's to be expected.

I know, DH is away till Wednesday so need to wait for him.

Although I am so tempted to do one and just not tell him - then if its +'ve do another one on Wednesday and be all "surprised" - is that bad? lol

When are you due to test this month Thunder? are your cycles back to normal yet?
