Yeah block that sounds sensible, and at least if it is a bfn (fx not of course), you can answer the doc's first question when you go.

Sorry, hon, I don't know either I'm afraid. In all my time googling I have read a lot of women get ovulation spotting so could be that? Maybe you missed surge or something?

Blockette · 11/01/2013 16:21

Hi Honni could it not be linked to the bladder infection? - apart from that I'm not sure as it does sound too early even for implantation. - go to gp about the infection and mention it while you're there?

Thunder No Symptoms, and yes I had a 46 day cycle, but that was after coming off the pill and I've been normal ever since? I think I'll test this weekend, and if its still -ve I'll go to the doctor, see if he can kick start AF or something?

HonniBee · 11/01/2013 16:03

Hi guys. I really need some help! I have no idea what is going on so I need suggestions please...
I'm on day 16 of my cycle. My cycle is usually about 27 days- always between 25 and 28. I've been using
opks but not got a positive yet - I'm not sure when I ov'd. Today I've started spotting- nearly two weeks early! Could this be implantation? Isn't it too early even for that?! Wtf is going on?!
To top it all off I've got a bladder infection today and man does it hurt! What is my body doing to me?

Thunderthunderthundercats · 11/01/2013 15:54

Hi all. block, have you got any symptoms? I'd say test again but you've had weirdly long cycles in the past haven't you so if a bfn will be awful then maybe not? test again test again!!

raspberry, aren't you due to test soon?

Welcome trop

Advice for ttc, there's loads of it online- about being healthy etc. I ignored all of that but did start taking supplements + the folic of course. Oh and to prepare mentally for the madness!

arghhelpme · 11/01/2013 11:17

Hi, my friend is about start ttc. I've told her to get some folic acid, but is there anything else she should be doing to help?
It's been a few years since i was last pregnant and can't remember if there's anything else she should be doing.

Thanks

Blockette · 11/01/2013 09:59
  • test again on Saturday!!! - don't know where Wednesday came from!
Blockette · 11/01/2013 09:58

Morning!

Well there has been an issue with the Visa so your stuck with me till October! hope im still not on this thread in October! HA! Grin

AF still not here! I'm getting rather annoyed now! might test again on Wednesday - or do we think 2 -ve's is pretty clear? Saturday will be 10 days late?

Welcome Tropicool hope you don't stay long!

Raspberry How are the boobs? When are you going to test? (Fx'ed!)

MoC I have light AF's only last 3 days, and very little pain - they where slightly heavier when I was on the pill though.

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 10/01/2013 21:36

Hi and Welcome Tropicool Grin

I hope your stay with us is a short one (in the nicest possible way!!)

Opk are good, I think the easiest ones are clear blue where u get the smiley face (smiley face meaning ov and go dtd!!)

I use a clearblue fertility monitor, but only due to it being on offer when I brought it & dh was loving the tech!! Lol!!! I tried temping but I really couldn't get on with it - I needed something easier to use!! Peeing on a stick is much easier!! Grin

Tropicool · 10/01/2013 13:26

Can I join this thread as a newbie poster ? I'm 32 and this is the 1st month TTC #1. Not telling friends about this so I need somewhere to chat! Regular cycles at about 31 days, but cannot work out when ov is! Tried all the usual tricks including temping and the more intimate things! Never used an OPK, but would consider it if I don't get a BFP this month.... AF is due 30 Jan. Fingers crossed for all!

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 10/01/2013 10:58

Sorry, posted to soon, I don't know if it's good or bad?!!

OP posts:
RaspberrysAndIcecream · 10/01/2013 10:53

Moc since coming off the pill I've had much lighter and shorter periods.

OP posts:
MotherOfCleo · 10/01/2013 09:59

Hi rasberry everything crossed for you!

Hi Guys, can anyone help me? I have a question, I went to the docs yesterday for my bloods results, he said everything was normal, including my progesterone levels...phew. He sees no reason why I shouldn't conceive fairly easily, he suggested using OPKs as I have slightly irregular periods normally somewhere better 26-29 days, which I started using last month. I usually have very light periods though, usually 2 - 4 days, with (sorry for TMI) very few clots, I think they seem light to me as I am used the heavy withdrawal bleeds you get when on the pill. Do any of you ladies know if light periods can be a negative sign?

Blockette · 10/01/2013 09:16

Oh Raspberry that really does sound promising!!! FXed

When are you testing?

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 20:51

meant ro say 'shouldnt conceive easily' doh

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 09/01/2013 20:45

Moc that's good news!! It's lovely to have a fab doctor. Fx for u!!

I'm on day 30. Don't know when or if I ov'ed as monitor didn't pick it up, although I think it may have been between days 17 - 20. Dtd everyday between weekend before Christmas to new years day - wanted to make sure i had every day covered for swimmers!!! Lol!!
Is implantation such a small amount of blood? My boobs are really tender as well and I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up but .........
And then I think back to the crushing dissapointment everytime AF arrives and I'm trying not to set myself up for a fall.

OP posts:
Thunderthunderthundercats · 09/01/2013 19:48

Nice one, moc! Grin

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 19:34

ohhh sounds like implantation....what day are you on?

i have good news, i went to the docs today for my blood test results done after I thought i missed a period everything is within normal ranges and my doc was lovely, he said he saw no reason I should conceive easily but said he would be happy to refer me if i ever felt the need Smile feel good to know in some way im normal lol

Thunderthunderthundercats · 09/01/2013 19:22

Implantation, raspberry?

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 09/01/2013 19:19

Oh hell!! Help please!!

I thought AF had arrived - TMI ALERT - tiny amount of red blood when wiped after going to the loo, really pissed off, thought oh crap, here we go again. Put a new liner in & got on with the afternoon. Manic afternoon, didn't get to go the loo again till I got home. Go to the loo & theres a tiny spot of brownish blood - more like cm than AF?!
What is going on??!! Hmm

OP posts:
Thunderthunderthundercats · 09/01/2013 16:45

(to the tune of olé olé olé olé)

One line, one line one line one line, one line, one line!

(I won't be singing if its one line in 2 weeks' time....)

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 09/01/2013 13:40

Hi MrsBc

Sorry about the bfn block and flo fingers crossed you're both out of limbo land soon.

We dont have a list up on this thread yet - who's next to poas - I've got my cheerleading pom poms ready!!! Grin Grin

Hope you're all having a nice Wednesday! Halfway to the weekend!!! Grin

Thunderthunderthundercats · 09/01/2013 13:09

Yeah thanks moc, we shall see. I did start doing it slightly earlier in the day (bad scientist having too many variables) so it may not go back to totally disappearing- just as long as it gets fainter than the control as you say. I was just feeling gutted as I'd SO hoped that it meant I was mended, but I might be ok eh? Hopefully even fainter today.

block if you were tempted you could always try the cb ones as you can use them with fmu so it could fit in with the routine!

Sorry about the bfn fl0, glad you Re feeling ok about it though. I reckon you should give some opks a go, mostly because learning about when you ov might be really helpful. Perhaps you ovulate really late or early and are not dtding enough at the right time or something? I don't think I'll use them long term, just a few cycles to get an idea of what's going on.

Hi mrsbc, and welcome to the world of madness

Blockette · 09/01/2013 09:58

Sorry about your BFN fl0 :(

TBH I don't bother with the OV sticks as I found myself obsessing about how dark, the 2nd line should be, and when to start using them, and what time of day - (leave home at 7am, get back home at 8.30pm) do I do them at work, cause if the cleaner sees anything in the bin, he knows its me cause I'm the only girl on this floor, and our cleaner is the biggest gossip ever!

soooo I decided not to bother. Each to their own and all that. sometimes wish I did though ...

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 09:31

Hi fl0 so sorry for your BFN, could it still be too early to register? OPKs (Ovulation predictor kits) aren't that scary fl0 honestly. You basically pee on a stick for a few days, if the second line is darker than the first it is a good sign you are about to ovulate and you have lots of sex. It helped me as I just wanted to be sure that I ovulated and I wanted to know what the different cramps and twinges related too. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and out of control, now I feel more centered and in control. also it was nice to see 2 lines on a pee stick for once Everyone is different though, do what makes you happy and helps you feel comfortable. Smile

fl0b0t · 09/01/2013 08:45

Hi mrsbc and welcome!

I poas last night and got a bfn :(
haven't got any pms cramps etc but have got a stinking cold! Rubbish! Been ttc almost 18 months, but last 3 months I've had a proper cycle. Not too worried (and not too depressed this.month) but sick of waiting!

Not sure if I'm brave enough to delve into the confusing looking world of ovulation stuff! Opk? Lh? Lines?! All sounds very complicated......
