No use shoving the sausage up there viv. It won't get you pregnant!

Aquarius1 · 23/01/2013 22:54

Thanks for that twinkle hope it's helped you feel a bit better too Wink

Thundercatsarego · 23/01/2013 22:53
Pipbin · 23/01/2013 22:47

[runs in, hoys pavlova, runs off giggling]

Boodle9 · 23/01/2013 22:46

Can that be our new, extended name? The Elderly Sausage-Pavlova Wangers? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?

Boodle9 · 23/01/2013 22:45

Bunny, I think we just may have! We're getting close to the end of this thread now...I wonder if we can fill the remaining 84 slots with sausage wanging!?

Viv Grin at marrow!!!

Thoroughly intended on spending this evening doing some reading around thyroid and fertility issues so I could go to the doctor tomorrow armed (and dangerous) with knowledge. Instead I shall go, sit in her chair and start tittering about sausages, growling captain and viv's prize marrow.

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 22:40

The Elderly Sausage-Wangers.

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 22:40

[jots down 'must buy marrow' on to-do list]

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 22:39

I am laughing my fucking head off..

Bunnygirlie · 23/01/2013 22:34

All this sausage wanging is making me peckish

(wonders if we've all lost the plot now)

Boodle9 · 23/01/2013 22:31

Lol, viv! You've actually just made me google 'large sausages' to see if I can come up with a better suggestion for you. (Makes note to delete browsing history...)

Boodle9 · 23/01/2013 22:27

Oi, Viv! I was eating that! Hang on...solo sexy time you say? You may keep it.

Right, I'm off to steal a pavlova off Pip and then I'm bringing it back for a food fight!

captainmoll · 23/01/2013 22:26
viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 22:25

[returns shame-faced...Cumberland sausage too small for Viv's wizard's sleeve] Blush

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 22:23

[runs in and retrieves mangled, carpet fluff-ed Cumberland sausage and slinks away for some solo sexy time]

twinklestar2 · 23/01/2013 22:16
Aquarius1 · 23/01/2013 21:36

[ducks to avoid sausage wanging]

Viv that advice about not being jealous of a whole pregnant lady (so to speak)... That's some really helpful stuff. I wouldn't trade my life for my pg friends' but I do get so jealous.... Probably also need a good slap round the chops [stands up and gets in the queue]

twinklestar2 · 23/01/2013 21:30

Thx bunny, it's very very tough.

twinkle sorry to hear you are feeling down, I feel like crap after 8 cycles so it must be so tough for you and everyone who has been trying 12 months+

Trying to look at the positives here today which isn't like me as I'm usually little miss negative! Our house is so very nearly finished after 5 months work, yay maybe no house stress will help me and DH. Also it's my birthday sat so deffo having a few drinkies, maybe an appletini or two Wink

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 19:41

[twats Boodle around the head with a cumberland sausage]

Boodle9 · 23/01/2013 18:45

Happy birthday Rumple!

Viv, I quite like the idea of having a weight Nazi around here. I've been raiding the biscuits today and I need someone to slap me for it. Come on, give it your best shot please!

Twinkle, I know what you mean about a 'fading dream'. I feel like that a lot at the moment, but I'm quite numb to it all. It's like I don't want to confront that possible reality at the moment so I'm just shutting off that part of my brain and waiting for it to erupt in spectacular style during a performance management meeting or at some other equally inappropriate time .

Hoping this time tomorrow I might have a referral and that this knowledge will perk me up a little bit.

viviennewestwould · 23/01/2013 18:42

Rumple, very sage words. It's so easy to forget just how blessed we are to have love in our lives. Someone very recently helped me immensely when I was feeling pathologically envious of other pregnant women. She said something along the lines of, if you are going to envy that woman her pregnancy, you have to want everything about her: her family, her husband, her job, her personality, her friends, her life. You can't simply want her bump. This really made sense to me and helped shift my perspective a little: do I really want to be that pregnant woman in the supermarket aisle? Would I swap with her right now and step right into her shoes? I'm not entirely sure I've paraphrased very well, but I hope you get my drift..

Twinkle, it comes with ttc package, that irrational feeling that it's never going to happen to us. Only positive thinking - and staying out of the future, which is, thankfully unknown to us - will banish these pointless and damaging thoughts. The way I see long-term ttc is this: it feels like I am waiting at a bus stop with loads of other women whose buses keep coming along. On they get, then the next one and the next until, finally, I am on my own, waiting for this fucking bus that I begin to believe simply isn't coming. But then, just around the corner...
