Old Fred here

Here we go Brookers, it's been a long year with lots of BFPs and newborn snuggles for the Brookers. We're just a sleigh-ride away from 2013, when the rest of us will get our get our 12 week scans (because of course we will all have BFPs under the christmas tree this year!)

So come all ye brookers, it's tinsel and baubels all the way!

Sparks forgot to say, glad your nan is ok too

SweetieTime · 03/01/2013 08:59

Beedle well done to MrB and his JIAJ at least he got there in the end. Fx the appointment comes through soon or maybe that ironic BFP arrives first Wink

Solars - new clothes = DIFFED for sure or is that only with new undies?

Cleo so sorry AF has arrived. We have all been there, convinced this is the month, then wham she arrives. You are a brooker now so take no crap, onwards my dear to the lovely shiny BFP Smile

I just checked in the grads thread and didn't realise so many got agreeable pee sticks at the same time BlushBlushBlush the stork is going to busy for a few weeks yet then the thread will be very lonely so we all need to up our brooking game and get moved over there to keep boo & sparks company

keepitgoing · 03/01/2013 08:48

Hallelujah to mrB's jiaj!!!! bout freaking time Do you know when your appt will be at the Hosp?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 03/01/2013 08:15

Hi all, thought it was about time to return after a little no-mumsnet holiday. sounds like everyone had a nice Xmas and new year - shame about the arrivals of AF for some.

Good news here MrB finally at long bloody last JIAJ yesterday, so now we should have another appointment at the hospital, where they will put us on the waiting list for IVF. I've been reading the Swedish equivalent of MN and it seems that there was 6 month waiting time for IVF this time last year, but they were hoping to try to reduce it.

its also the 1st day back at work for me today, luckily most of my colleagues are still on holiday so I won't have to work too hard (sounds a bit odd, but we all have our own stuff to do, so i don't have to cover for anyone else. And we don't have desk phones just mobiles, so I don't even have to answer other people's phones) Xmas Grin

Will now pop over to the grad thread to see who has sneezed out a new year baby

Withalittlesparkle · 03/01/2013 07:00

solars new dresses hey?!! Diffed this month for sure!!!

First day back to work today!! Yawn!!

My nan was doing much better yesterday when I saw her! She'll be in hospital for a while but it's the best place for her at the moment! Visiting will be tricky now I'm back at work!!

keepitgoing · 03/01/2013 05:39

Er, solars, she won't be arriving...? Glad you're feeling better after the op. When are you thinking you'd do if?

So we've been told we shouldn't do stimulated iui the month before ivf. So new plan is stimulated iui in Jan, natural iui in Feb, ivf/icsi in march. Then see. The more I think about it the more I think iui isn't worth it, and would rather just get on with ivf.

Solars · 02/01/2013 21:35

Oh yes and I'm back onto the yoga after nearly 3 weeks off, easing myself in gently with only a half hour session, I felt all creaky especially where the stitches are but felt so much better for it afterwards! Just need to get back into running sometime soon.....

Solars · 02/01/2013 21:30

Thanks for the heads up Boo Grin

Solars · 02/01/2013 21:23

A bit late to the party but, Happy New Year!!

Keep I'm Xmas Envy of your Xmas on the beach! Have everything crossed for this months iui! How are the drugs going?

Kicks AF in the nuts for Cleo first day of AF is always the most emotional, I prescribe chocolate, wine and a good movie!

Hope your nan is doing better Sparkes it's always worrying when they're in hospital.

Face nice to see you back but sorry you're feeling the post wedding blues, I was lucky that I didn't feel it as a few months after our honeymoon we flew out for our year in oz. I do however often catch myself thinking I'd love to do the wedding again as it was such a lovely day and correct all the things that didn't quite go to plan

I'm actually already in bed Shock feeling shattered! I was quite emotionally up & down yesterday, I think the thought of having to go through ivf again this year and still having to face ttc took its toll! However I have bought some lovely figure hugging dresses & skinny trousers in the sales thus ensuring my inevitable ironic BFP next month! Waiting for AF to arrive which should hopefully be in the next few days!

NewYearNewBoo · 02/01/2013 21:18

Grin there is news over on grads Grin come and see, you will all need to mark your places over there anyway :):)

cartoontrickster · 02/01/2013 13:43

thanks jen they look good.
I know sparks but i hate the thought of it sat there all dirty! its absolutly black along the bottom.

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 02/01/2013 13:24

I used these to clean and box my dress. It was very easy, they collected from my house on the day I chose and delivered it back the same way.

Withalittlesparkle · 02/01/2013 13:06

How organised are you? Mine is still hung up on the spare bedroom door and I've been married two years!!!

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 12:38

i cant decide who to trust with dry cleaning my wedding dress, the shop i got it from will do it and box it for £140! i have no idea where they take it though. timpsons will do the same for £85. but ive never used timpsons before so im a bit nervous.

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 12:31

argh not nice! poor you. i bet a lot of brides lose some last minute weight through nervous. i had a bit of a poorly tummy in the morning too. i was terrified!

Withalittlesparkle · 02/01/2013 12:17

face I would've been emotional after the wedding of I hadn't caught norovirus 2 days later!!! We also had a 'mini moon' to a family members apartment I'm Cyprus but then mrsparks got poorly!!

Oooooh and my dress was too big as well, but you can't tell on the photos!!!

You'll be unable to wear that dress, hope you kept the receipt!!

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 11:23

Hi cleo nice to meet you, sorry are having a rubbish time of it, but everyone here will help you along and cheer you up, they always have me!
i was so tearful those first few days after the wedding worrying that everyone had a good time, if my dress looked ok (it was slightly big on the day) if we had enough pics done etc etc. sparks we will hopefully have a delayed abroad honeymoon also. im considering booking one actually anyway because that will surely guarantee my diffedness. i also brought a size 8 dress at the weekend to wear to bro in laws wedding in april which clearly i have no hope of actually still fitting in it.
where is everyone today?

Withalittlesparkle · 02/01/2013 10:52

Keep Did you like my use of monkey balls? Im so good with words arent I?

Face I was the same after our wedding was all done and dusted, except we had a delayed honeymoon (about 7 months after the wedding) so the deflated feeling hit much later!! find yourself something else to focus on..... like the fact your diffed!!!!

Cleo Im so sorry to here about AF, remember you are just waiting for the perfect egg to meet the perfect swimmer!!! It took me 12 months to find the absolute perfect combination, you'll get there, you're a brooker, and brookers can overcome everything, fact!!!

Not sure who else I shouldve name checked, I really need to get ready to go out, last day of freedom before being back at work! Seeing mummy sparkes as its her birthday, then visiting nanny sparkles in hospital, she was rushed in just after christmas with pnuemonia and they think she'll be in for atleast another week, stressful few days!!

keepitgoing · 02/01/2013 10:22

Face I was v down when I got back from honeymoon. But you have an imminent successful pregnancy and morning sickness to look forward to, and
I'll

keepitgoing · 02/01/2013 10:21

It's early days Cleo, don't panic. I've had swimmers there at the right time for 18 months and it's not worked, it's not an easy thing, this conception. But it sounds like a chemical pregnancy, so sperm and egg did meet. Welcome to day one of your pregnancy!

So it is of course bfn, but I could be a smegs one of those periody pregnant lady keeps dreaming of popping out a baby unawarees and imagine how guilty and stupid I'd feel having taken hard core drugs. Onwards and upwards.

2013 do your thing. 2012 sucked monkey balls, to take sparks' lovely turn of phrase.

MotherOfCleo · 02/01/2013 07:42

the witch has arrived Sad Sad Sad

im so so so sad Sad an to top it off today is my first day back at work after xmas hols...crappy all round!
I dont know how my egg can have missed 6 lots of swimmers Sad I thought we'd done enough this month. DTD the four days up to ov day and twice on ov day.....gutted!
So depressed right now Shock

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 07:16

not crazy, sensible. always best to check I think.
yup massive blues! I will probably hang around here all day so u can all cheer me up. not sure if there'll be much to do at work or not.

keepJinglingThoseBells · 02/01/2013 06:51

Yes, tonight. I'm going to poas first, despite having a period because I'm crazy

That's only ten days ago, and you might have ovulated two days later, so it's def not over for you. Since you need to start new drugs if you're pg i'd probably test every other day till AF or bfp, so you'd catch it early!

You must have big post wedding and Christmas blues...

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 06:33

do u start ur meds today, keep?

cartoonface · 02/01/2013 06:32

I had a positive opk on the 23rd Dec. I take the steroids for 10days starting when I ovulate. so I've finished them until the next cycle. unless of course I get a bfp, in which case I've got a whole bag full of other drugs to make a start on!
