Hi! I am due my period in the next few days (I hope! that's a first ;)) then I will officially be ttc! Very exciting times...

So I thought I would start a nice friendly thread so we can go on our ttc journey together!!

I have been taking folic acid when I remember the last few weeks or so and came off the pill a few months ago.. I'm not entirely sure of my cycles yet, but think I'm due thurs or fri..

So come say hi! x

LondonSuperTrooper · 08/01/2013 21:01

And I am of now to purchase some preg tests from the fab offer that bridget shared with us the other day.

LondonSuperTrooper · 08/01/2013 20:59

petitfromage I have got the dates of my next predicted ovulation. 95% of the time I ovulate on Day 13 of my cycle... and on this day I am meant to be in Oman!!!

bridget nah no chance of BFP in this cycle. I'm so upset about this oversees trip as it's one month longer till I TTC again.... and I'm rapidly approaching 40 Sad Plus i tested with my trusted Clearblue brand.

Thanks MrsSpencerthank you, lets hope so too.

babythank you for your BFP vibes. I'll keep you all updated if AF shows her head on Friday. I bet knowing my luck this will be a freaky cycle that carries on to CD35!! Once every 6 months or so my cycle lasts for 35 days - what's that all about?!

111007kbaby · 08/01/2013 16:25

Lol sOrry on spelling stupid spell check on I phone well wat I ment to say was u may have tested to early. X

111007kbaby · 08/01/2013 14:35

Hi London you may have tested to wary I was using first respone and was getting nothing then I left till a day before af I think and used a creepy and the lighted pink line came up so don't loose hope. Let's hope af stays away an it turns around x

MrsSpencerReid · 08/01/2013 12:07

London, sorry to hear about your bfn but with DS I was over 10 days late before i got a bfp, so as long as AF stays away...

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 08/01/2013 11:53

Oh London, that's utterly pants!

I'm truly not one to give false hope but there is always a chance you've just tested too early.

As for the overseas trip, it may not scupper next month's opportunity. Just make sure you get a good 'dose' from Mr London before you go...those swimmers can have a pretty long life span.

petit - I'm only being stricter these days out of desperation..started out a lot more relaxed. Don't think it really makes a difference, just feel I have to do something... (oh, and leave those poor boobs alone!)

petitfromage · 08/01/2013 11:28

Look through your diary and put dates in when you know you are mid cycle and in UK....?

If it helps I keep impulsively grabbing my boobs and trying to guess whether they are senstive/bigger/tender etc - I don't even realise I'm doing it. It's a really good job I work from home.... Smile.

LondonSuperTrooper · 08/01/2013 10:35

Thanks petitefromage. I'm actually at work but just can't concentrate :-(

petitfromage · 08/01/2013 09:47

Oh London, gutted for you. I just checked on before starting work to see if there was any good news... And doubly annoying that you are away next month. But still try around the time - you never know - I got BFP with #1 at a time when I was fairly sure I wouldn't get one, 5 days after peak. Apparently you are more likely to get a boy if you conceieve late - and I did!
Still planning to wait until Sunday am. Got DS 5th birthday party sat pm for 35 kids (aaargh!!!) and there is no way I can cope with that while contemplating my test result whichever way it goes. Also it did cross my mind that I will probably feel the need to put my feet up with a Wine post party so at least I can have it almost guilt free....!!! I'm just not a very strict person when TTC I don't think - I'm taking vitamins but not doing anything else really - not drinking during the week but that's as much to recover from Christmas as anything else. Once I get BFP I'll be really quite strict but I don't want to jinx it by assuming I can't drink, have coffee etc. if nothing happens after a few months then I'll start cutting out the naughties. Is everyone else being really good? Is it just me??!
Right really should get some work done....

LondonSuperTrooper · 08/01/2013 08:59

Hi all,

Well I tested first thing this morning.... I was up at 4am and made myself wait till 6.00am before testing. I got a flipping but not unexpected BFN. Felt OK about it until I found out this morning that I am going overseas with work right in the middle of my next cycle- feel absolutely gutted now!

bridget reading your last post made me giggle... thanks Smile

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 07/01/2013 15:45

Was going to mid-stream test (OPK) but changed my mind at the very very last minute and decided to dip-test instead (scared of splashing wee on the digital holder bit).

So I grabbed the nearest thing to me that could hold wee. This just happened to be one of Mini B's bath toys.

Was so engrossed in waiting for the result that I forgot to get rid of the evidence. Oooooopps! Blush

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/01/2013 15:16

bridget I just have to ask this..... why on earth do you have a toy boat full of wee?!!!!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 07/01/2013 14:11

Doh! sorry London - me being dense.

Just been upstairs and realised I'd left a toy boat full of wee next to the sink! Had a "look what ttc has done to you" moment.

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/01/2013 13:50

Sorry for typo errors. I'm on my phone.

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/01/2013 13:48

bridget thanks for your good luck vibes. Many thanks also for sharing the first response offer. It is a great deal. If I get a -ve results tomorrow then I'll definitely buy a packet if these tests.

I knew what pelvic floor exercises are - I was being cheeky that's all. After I had my DS I was told that I needed an op to put everything where ahem it should be. I declined the op as it meant not having children after DS - as a second pregnancy & birth would negate the op benefits.

I've just calculated that I need to lose 2.5stones to get to a BMI of 25 - yikes!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 07/01/2013 13:08

Hello ttc-ers. fr00t I'm hoping that no news is good news, and that you are being kind to yourself however things are panning out.

London I need to lose a stone and a half to get to a healthy BMI. My problem is plain old over-eating as my crazy mutt ensures I get plenty of exercise. I'm sure your two-pronged approach will work and realistic targets are definitely the way to go.

One of the reasons I'm ditching coffee completely is because I'm trying to break some of my eating patterns too. For me a cup of coffee too often = a biscuit and/or a cake too.

Pelvic floor exercises are sometimes known as Kegels? They are the ones where you repeatedly squeeze your wee-stopping muscles? Soooo, very, very, important for any woman hoping to prevent a prolapse. I'm a lost cause Sad

l will keep my fingers firmly crossed for you petit and London Let's hope your boobs are giving the game away petit and that London's hubby's pregnancy radar is working.

I am now sworn off early testing but there is a great deal on First Responses if you order directly from their website. You can get a 5 pack for a really good price and they are definitely my pee-stick of choice. (Rather shocked to realise that I have such strong feelings about what I wee on....)

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/01/2013 11:11

Thanks petitfromage. It seems that my AF is due 1 day earlier than yours.

Which tests did you buy from Boots? The early preg tests or the ones that you can test on the day? I've read good reviews about poundland tests and tesco double early preg packs.

I've currently got the Clearblue early preg digital tests and according to my packet, testing 3 days early is 86% accurate. Testing today would have been 55% accurate - I didn't like the odds so I skipped testing this morning. And now I'm impatiently waiting for tomorrow.

Interestingly enough, my DH is convinced that I'm already pregnant!!! At TTC cycle 1....... I told him that with our track records.... umm I don't think so!

petitfromage · 07/01/2013 10:36

Morning all,
Sat in Starbucks so obviously my caffeine reduction plan not going that well (I did think after I'd ordered that I should have got decaf - oh well .....)

London I've just bought more tests in boots! Thinking I'll wait till the weekend as then I'm much nearer AF date (12th) and also as its DH first baby (my second) thought he'd rather hear news either way in person rather than a phone call to his desk. No aches at all yet and normally I feel my AF coming a mile off so feeling slightly curious now. Also boobs feel like that they have gone up two cup sizes! That can't be all mince pies - can it???

Will check back tomorrow to see how you get on London! Everything crossed....

X

LondonSuperTrooper · 07/01/2013 08:56

bridgetI have only one new year?s resolution and that is to be more active. My aim is to walk for 10mins a day. I now it doesn't sound like much but that should indicate my lack of exercise! I joined Slimming World in mid-November and I?m hoping that combined with my increase of activity should speed up my weight loss. I really do need to lose weight as my BMI is around 31.
Wow at you having so many resolutions?. And pelvic floor exercises? What?s that?!

111007kbaby best of luck with your scan. What is this scan for? Also, I?m with Bridget about the milk thing. I completely went off milk when I was pregnant with DS.

Fridge are you following any particular plan for losing weight? And it?s great that you had a lovely childhood being an only child Smile

Froot I?m slightly confused ?.. are you waiting to do a preg test? If so, what is this bleeding then?

petitfromage AF is due on Friday and I?m testing tomorrow morning. It?s been all I could think about. So I?m with you in that once you've bought the tests it?s hard not to test. When are you planning to test again?

Hi & welcome to the thread Francesa

I?m not giving up coffee but reducing my intake. I?m only allowing one cup of coffee & tea a day. It hasn't been too bad so far (today is my 3rd day of this new regime). Oh and I?m testing tomorrow morning (3 days early). I?m super excited even though it doesn't feel like it?s my month and I?m suffering with the usual pre-AF symptoms.

111007kbaby · 06/01/2013 20:03

I no I feel the same tbh but read a lot of posts and milks ment to help anything just to feel ok 4 abit, hold my nose and drink it lol x

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 06/01/2013 19:34

Eeeeww, don't think I'd want milk if I was feeling really sick (but I went completely off anything creamy). I'd be reaching for plain stuff...like a rich tea biscuit or some toast.

111007kbaby · 06/01/2013 19:23

It helps I agree but what gets me is the thought of food urghhhh!!! With my dd I couldn't even drink water with out throwing up, was do bad but now I can't even drive as the motion of driving is making me so sick. I hate milk but I've heard it lines your stomack do you think that could help xxx.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 06/01/2013 19:14

Oh good idea Francesca, will pop out for some fruit and/or mint teas tomorrow - don't know why I didn't think of that before. I don't even have baby brain as an excuse.

Absolutely luuurvve the name Francesca. We can't use it for a DD2 (family reason) but under different circumstances I'd pop it on the birth certificate in a flash.

kbaby, I found eating helped (but, unfortunately for my figure, that's the story of my life!)

111007kbaby · 06/01/2013 18:50

Thanks Bridget I'm starving but can't think bout eating :-( xx

Francescarose · 06/01/2013 18:29

Thanks Bridget! Good luck with the coffee thing... When I gave up caffeine I found peppermint tea and camomile tea helped- better than having nothing at all! Did you know you can get an organic decaf coffee?
