Hi! I am due my period in the next few days (I hope! that's a first ;)) then I will officially be ttc! Very exciting times...

So I thought I would start a nice friendly thread so we can go on our ttc journey together!!

I have been taking folic acid when I remember the last few weeks or so and came off the pill a few months ago.. I'm not entirely sure of my cycles yet, but think I'm due thurs or fri..

So come say hi! x

Hi blue, mine came back at 6 weeks AngryAngry and my friends have come back randomly since except one lucky person!! Our babies are all 9m all bf (well I'm not but was when AF returned) hope that helps Smile

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/01/2013 23:47

Sorry Blue it's not something I have any experience of as I formula fed from early on and my periods returned very quickly. I hope someone else can help.

BlueCrane · 12/01/2013 22:26

Hello all...well, we're not yet at Ttc number 2 stage but I wondered if I might pick people's brains about return of af after number 1? DS is now 7.5m and I'm still fully breastfeeding though have obviously started weaning onto food. For the last week I have been feeling very bloated and af crampy and lots of Ewcm and I have had heartburn again (only had before when pregnant!). Sooo...question is what are your experiences of Af returning and does this sound like I might ovulating as also had bad crampy pain in the nit a few days ago. NB possible but v v unlikely that I'm pg and tested last week and came up negative...only possibility that I would be would mean I was 7 weeks which would surely show up on a test by now!! All a bit confused!

Congrats froot all the best xxx

LondonSuperTrooper · 12/01/2013 19:43

Congratulations froot! What fab news :)
Hope that it'll be a sticky one for you.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/01/2013 19:14

Looking good fr00t! - keep us posted x

fr00tbat · 12/01/2013 18:51

Hi all!
Tested again today- dilute lunchtime wee- instant strong positive- woohoo!!!! First time since bleeding stopped have had strong positive.
Now panicking it wont stick. Early scan not for 3 more weeks- wanted to wait until hb potentially visible.
Petit- my bleeding sounded just like yours- lasted 3 days with strong cramping which went on another few days- was convinced was out- will keep fingers crossed for you.x

LondonSuperTrooper · 12/01/2013 17:29

No worries bridget I know that you meant it with the best intentions.

Well AF has arrived and I'm now started calculating when I ovulate. Need to make sure that we can catch the egg! My GP said from cycle day 8 we should DTD every other day. It'll be such a chore but needs must. Must confess we really haven't been following the advice that we have been given. So this is what I'll be doing different this month. Is anyone else trying anything different this month to increase their chances of getting pregnant?

petit must have missed some posts. What's happening tonight then? Anyway, it sounds like fun. Hope you'll have a fab time!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/01/2013 09:52

Oooooops - sorry to put my foot in it London! We will all definitely be up-duffed by April (we will, we will, we will)

Well done on the weight loss too.

Petit I hope Master Fromage has a super day and enjoys the riot party!

cantrememberanynurseryrhymes · 11/01/2013 21:02

Thanks for the welcomes.
Petit - your bleeding sounds like it could be implantation bleeding? I had it with dd and it was very like the dark/browny blood you get when your period is starting/finishing...

LondonSuperTrooper · 11/01/2013 18:43

Oh please don't say that Bridget! The house needs a lot of work and we won't be moving in there until mid-end April. I've told DH that should I fall pregnant before we move we must get a cleaner to clean the house for us as I'm not willing to exert myself too much.

AF still not here & my 1st Response tests arrived..... another BFN! Luckily I'm trying to look at the positive side of things. I've started exercising and I've been focusing on the slimming world plan and I've lost some weight! I guess that I can do with another month of TTC in order to lose some more weight.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/01/2013 17:02

Hi London, glad work is keeping your mind off this ttc business and very exciting that the moving house stuff is progressing. 2013 is shaping up to be a very memorable year for the London household! I know you've always said ideally you'd be in the new place before conceiving. Call me a superstitious old fool but maybe it's all going to happen at the right time.

Starting to warm to the digital OPKs but still not entirely convinced -
maybe it is going to be a slow-burn love affair. There is something so much 'friendlier' about my cheap and cheerfuls from Morrisons.

petit - hee, hee, that sounds exactly like the school boy error I'd make.

LondonSuperTrooper · 11/01/2013 15:12

Bridget I love my digital OPK and look forward to the results. I usually do the test and wait for the test whilst brushing my teeth.
I only test on day 13 and 14 of my cycle as I usually ovulate around then. I'd hate to do it from say day 10 though....... They are so blooming expensive. Which reminds me, I need to stock up for next month!

LondonSuperTrooper · 11/01/2013 14:48

Hi Sorelip & Cantremeber, welcome to the thread.

Charmaine I am so sorry for your loss. How far along were you?

Kbaby I hope that the nausea eases for you. I used to manage on plain crackers in the early months of pregnancy with my DS.

Bridget thanks for thinking of me Smile. Still no AF but this isn't unusual as I tend to have a long cycle every few months. I'm eagerly expecting AF this month so that I can plan my fertile dates etc and make sure that i get up earlier in the morning so that we can DTD. Romantic, huh?!

petit I'm a bit like you in that I'm looking forward to my AF and start again soon. And LOL at your version of POAS Grin

At the moment work is keeping me very busy so I find myself with little time to brood or berate my body for failing to get pregnant. Furthermore, the probate on the property that we are buying may be through by end of this month and I'm busy getting quotes for all the electrical & gas work.

Got to get back to work, but I will keep an eye on the thread. We need some BFP on this thread to keep the rest of us going!!

petitfromage · 11/01/2013 13:56

Bridget I'm totally unsure what to think - in my head I'm ready to start again next month (sort of happy I can definitely go skiing when we go away next month!) but a tiny part of me is thinking 'but everything is weird - your boobs are huge, you body aches and you just don't feel right' - and where the hell is AF? To be fair not due till tomorrow so I'll just try to patient till Sunday as planned.

Oh and just for those of you in need of a giggle I bought some more tests, nipped home and did one yesterday without telling DH as I was feeling curious and couldn't help myself...and didn't read instructions so did it wrong. Error message, no result. Apparently had to put it in holder first not just wee on it....Serves me right!!! Will wait till Sunday now.... Tut tut.
X

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/01/2013 13:27

Wow - very Envy at your cake making/decorating skills petit. R2D2 would be far too ambitious for me. I'm sure your DS is going to absolutely love it.

I am truly not one to peddle false hope but I do think what you describe sounds promising..Tuesday would have been very early for your period to start wouldn't it? I constantly felt like AF was about to arrive with DD.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...

petitfromage · 11/01/2013 12:50

Hello all! Sorry I've been away for a few days - a bit like fr00t I'm very confused......I thought I'd got AF tuesday and was properly gutted. Made me realise how much I want this... Then it stopped. Slight bit last night but apart from that nothing. Loads of cramping though and feel aches so guessing its coming tomorrow or day after but still very weird. Could be to do with my coil being taken out last month maybe? Was very like bleed you get at start or end so I'm guessing it's just not started properly.

Still planning to test on Sunday if nothing shows just so I know what the hell is going on with my body!!!!

I'm in the middle of making an r2d2 cake for the party tomorrow which is helping take my mind of it....

Xx

charmaine10222 · 11/01/2013 11:08

Sorry Bridget that was meant for kbaby Shock. You can tell I have a rough night Brew might wake me up Smile

charmaine10222 · 11/01/2013 11:05

Bridget,

Running out of the scan because the baby is a boy is just bizarre. Suppose some people build dreams around the sex of the baby where most of us just want a healthy baby. Smile

The sun is out today and things are always better when we have sun Grin

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/01/2013 09:21

Good morning cantremember, nice to have you with us. I gave up trying to catch up on past posts as I just got in a mental pickle, and I think some of the earlier posters may have dropped off the thread too.

Sorelip - thanks for explaining....phew, that those results really are a relief.

Hi London - hope you're ok today and AF is keeping her distance.

cantrememberanynurseryrhymes · 10/01/2013 22:22

Hello! Have just started ttc #2. Have a 19m dd and just about feel ready for another. Have only just found this thread so will start reading from the beginning. An currently on the 2ww (af due sometime around the 16th).

111007kbaby · 10/01/2013 22:22

Loosing a baby It never come in to my head again, I wonder what my little one will expect a bro or a sis. I do think some ppl obsess over the fact of trying to conceive a certain sex, my sister told me one of her clients the other day actually ran out of her scan crying because she was having another boy. I thought it was bizarre how ppl can really be upset about it. And I sufferd really bad with Hyperemsis first pregnancy I was hospitalised for nearly 4 weeks, and tbh I feel it coming again :-( xx

Sorelip · 10/01/2013 22:21

Bridget I can't remember what the abbreviation stands for exactly, but it's basically to do with how many abnormal cells there are in the cervix, and how deep they go. It goes CIN 1,2 and 3, with 1 being the least serious. A lot of CIN 1's go back to normal after a while, however they can develop. I had CIN 2 before and was supposed to have LLETZ to remove the cells, but before I could get the treatment, I found out I was pregnant with DS. In other words, I've got the green light to TTC.

111007kbaby · 10/01/2013 22:14

Hya Bridget's done one asked ne the same question and I didn't really have an answer so I thought I'd ask some one else, I rember with my 1st I didn't really understand how precious falling pregnant that easy was and I always used to say Ud love a little girl. But after l

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 10/01/2013 21:45

Hello Sorelip I'm pleased you've found us. I have to confess I don't really know what your test results mean but I'm glad it is good news and gives you the green light to ttc. Let the SWI commence!

London and petit any sign of AF? I'm hoping the old witch is staying away. How is the party planning going petit? The big 'do' is drawing ever nearer..

kbaby sorry you are feeling terrible but I am slightly Envy of the reason why. As for your question..

First and foremost I'm just hoping for a viable pregnancy and, approx forty weeks later, to be leaving hospital with a take-home baby.

However, when I daydream about having a second child I do tend to imagine another daughter, but I think that is purely because I already have a girl. I think it's my brain's default setting rather than any real gender preference IYKWIM?

Sometimes I deliberately make myself imagine life with a son and it's always lovely too.
