I hope nobody else has started a May conception thread; April isn't going to be it for me, so onwards and forwards ladies!

iya all :)

nope no news yet debsie, not holding my breath waiting, but tbh I still feel "pg" and dh even reckons I look as if I'm getting a bump! although that could be all the chocolate that I've been comfort eating lol.

Do have one more test left, but am resisting the urge to use it as am sure I know what the outcome will be. have joked that if there is a baby in there, the first positive I'll get will be when it kicks me in the ribs, lol.

Debbsy · 10/05/2006 17:54

anymore news yet wannabe?

coggy · 09/05/2006 18:53

Sorry that's it's still being dragged out for you wannaBe. I do hope you get your results asap.

Debbsy · 09/05/2006 18:07

when do you get your results?

trace2 · 09/05/2006 16:14

maybe think of going privte to a gyny, you may get your answer there

wannaBe1974 · 09/05/2006 14:46

thanks trace and decafgirl. tbh, it's not fact I don't know whether I'm pg or not which is bothering me now, after all if I am pg then that will become apparent soon enough test or no test, but if I'm not, then there's something else wrong and gp doesn't seem to have even considered that. I'm still very much of the thinking that if I'm not pg then this is it for us really, but it's the not knowing what else is wrong, and whether it might be something serious, that is starting to do my head in now.

trace2 · 09/05/2006 13:50

oh wannbe so sorry, i wish i could help

decafgirl · 09/05/2006 12:50

That's so annoying! It must be so frustrating for you - I really do hope they get back in touch soon xx

wannaBe1974 · 09/05/2006 11:48

well, back from gp, she did a blood test to check for hcg, but apart from that said, "well we'll determine now whether you are or not, and if not then we'll investigate further. no wiser now than I was an hour ago.

wannaBe1974 · 09/05/2006 09:31

hiya all :)

Decafgirl sorry to hear about af.

Debsie have apt at 11 this morning so time will tell. Same gp as I saw previously so .. hmmm, what sort of hat to take, I'm opting for a large top hat with plenty of feathers in it, lol.

trace2 · 09/05/2006 08:39

decafgirl sorry about af

wannbe good luck at docs today, dont come away until you have some answers.

decafgirl · 09/05/2006 08:03

Hi guys, AF arrived this morning so I'll be off to the June thread!

Trying to be philosophical about it but am obv. a little disappointed. Never mind - there's always next month. Good luck to everyone who's still in the running for May.

Debbsy · 09/05/2006 07:54

wannabe how did you get on at the drs ?

flowertot · 09/05/2006 06:50

I got pregnant with DD1 the minute I came off the pill. Its very common apparently so fingers crossed! Were you trying in the 7 months you were off before?
I have very odd feelings here. There is absolutely no reason I should be pregnant, but somehow I feel it. I am not getting my hopes up because on paper it is unlikely. Will be interesting to see though.....

maazaa · 08/05/2006 20:00

Well, I have no idea on my length of cycle as I have been on the pill (albeit for 2 weeks after a 7 month break). I think it's usually around 21-28 days, so to be late I would have to wait at least a week. Don't "feel" pg, just pre-menstrual. We bd'd every other day between day 6 and day 14 or so and then haven't since as we've been too tired (and i felt so PMTish). As it's our first month of ttc, there isn't too much pressure at the mo. Where are you up to?

flowertot · 08/05/2006 19:53

How long is your cycle normally Maaza? When can you get testing? Very exciting. Did you bd over the right times?? We missed it this month but its such a pain to hang around waiting for dear old AF so you can start again. However much you try not to think of times and dates its pretty impossible

maazaa · 08/05/2006 19:34

Hey Guys - anyone around? Been offline for few days - Take That were wicked, Flowertot, thanks for asking!!! Really good concert, even if you weren't a mad Take That fan! Am knackered though!

So am on day 21 and still got crazy PMT symptoms. Tummy bloated, boobs saw and painful spots on chin. I had a cup of tea at 7am and an inch of coke all day, yet went for a wee 4 times, when usually I don't go at all and end up with cystitis! But, like you Tidy/Celou, I am probably imagining it!!! Not feeling mad angry like I was last week, so at least that's a relief!

Apparently those first response tests are only accurate 4 days before AF in 60% or so of women. And that is only if you have a high level of hormone.

Wannabe - I am so so sorry that things are not going well for you. I admire your philosophical attitude, you are obviously such a fab person. I hope it all gets sorted.

Congratulations, Skerriesmum! Wonderful news!!! How is everyone else?

TidyJane · 08/05/2006 13:48

Guys it's me again (Celou) I've changed my name.

Celou · 08/05/2006 13:43

sorry tuttifrutti I've just missed your post. Thanks, and you'll hopefully have more luck than me this month Smile

Celou · 08/05/2006 13:40

Thanks Wannabe for your advice. You're right about those so called "early response" tests, I've read something about it and they may not be as accurate as they like to claim.
More to the point. I followed your advice: BFN. Sad
I just don't understand it. Do you think I might be having a phantom pregnancy? I know your mind can play tricks on you to make you "imagine" simptoms but this is just ridiculous. If I'm not pg what's wrong with me?

TuttiFrutti · 08/05/2006 13:36

Test again in a day or so Celou. Those early pgy tests are often wrong - I did one last time and was gutted when it was a BFN, but 2 days later it was a BFP!

Am on CD21 now, but not optimistic as dh was away for 5 days at the crucial time this month. I should have totally written off this month, but there's a little glimmer of hope lurking... I just know that I won't be able to resist doing a test in a week's time.

wannaBe1974 · 08/05/2006 10:40

Celou if you did a test last monday then you were on cd27 then? Although the tests claim that they are accurate several days before af is due, I think the reality is actually far from it, and generally tests are accurate from a couple of days after your af is due. I would do another test, you've got nothing to lose apart from the cost of the test, if it's bfnthen you can consider yourself potentially not pg, but a bfn befoe af is due is by no means indicative of no pregnancy imo. good luck

Celou · 08/05/2006 10:11

The pressure's on girls. What would you do in my shoes? I'm on cd35 today, I've got sore nipples (which I only ever got when pg with dd), heartburn and nausea every day at about 5pm especially when hungry, quite a lot of normal couloured cm, and I had period type pains on wednesday but no af. The thing is I did a first response test last monday, and it was negative. Surely it would have been positive as you can test a few days before your period is due.
In a way I'm convinced I'm pg but the other way I'm terrified of doing a test in case it's negative. What do I do?
Sad

trace2 · 08/05/2006 08:53

sorry i missed yoy too, sounds looking good putcat, you dont get sore boobs with af due , do you,

keep my fingers crossed for you both

decafgirl · 08/05/2006 08:35

Hmmm, think I might be coming on too... ugh, this is horrible. No real signs as yet except I feel a bit crampy this morning. Not going to give up yet though.
PCM hang on in there with me - you never know it could be a sign of implantation -0 fingers crossed xxx
