Hi everyone,

Originally was waiting to ttc in Dec but we've agreed to start now...currently on cd19 with no pos on opk but still keeping fingers crossed!
Will poas around 9th Dec anyone else?

Yay, thanks Purple - decision made - the hairy baubles are staying! I shall let them proudly dangle.

purpleaura · 06/12/2012 13:11

Hi London! Welcome! I couldn't agree with Bridget more- I think it is indeed best to get cracking. There will never be a "perfect" time, and you just never know how long things will take- moving house, or getting that bfp!

Oh, and bridget, your new name is very rude, but I love it!!

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 12:30

Oh bum, really thought I'd got these smiley/emphasis thingies cracked. Obviously not, so it's back to the preview message function for me.

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 12:27

Oooh LoveYouForeverMyBaby, how do you fancy LoveYouForeverMyBauble?...

I'd give up my bauble for the greater good...

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 11:57

Hey London, great to have you with us, but do wish it wasn't under such sad circumstances. I know the poor vendor couldn't help it, but how gutting for the sale to fall through at this late stage.

I think - if you feel strong enough - then it's best to get cracking with ttc. There'll never be a perfect moment and time keeps ticking by.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep my new talk nickname - not sure if it is a bit too rude Blush

LondonSuperTrooper · 06/12/2012 11:53

loveyou I hope that you will feel better soon. Please be positive. Going back to work will be hard at first as you need to get a routine established. Once that is done it will get easier.

I will now need to read this thread to catch up!

LondonSuperTrooper · 06/12/2012 11:51

Hi Ladies!!

I think that I will join you if that's OK? We were planning to wait till we moved house but that has fallen to the wayside as the vendor has sadly passed away earlier this week Sad

I think this has hit home that I shouldn't waste time and TTC NOW. So here I am Grin

I can't wait till i start my period so that we can get on with it!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 22:54

bridget yes have xmas off at least...thank you for the hug much needed.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 05/12/2012 21:12

Flowers I think the first post-pill period can be a bit of a shock to the system if you are used to just a light withdrawal bleed. I'm glad you are now feeling brighter. I can definitely relate to the "loving the caffeine and booze for a few days" - I felt blissfully guilt free as I made my morning cuppa this morning.

My phone app is telling me that my next BFP is due on New Year's Day - strangely enough this has made me feel a bit pessimistic - seems too perfect to actually happen (if that makes sense!) This ttc business is bringing out a superstitious side of me that I didn't know I had.

LoveYouForever have a huge hug. Are you taking time off at Christmas? Can you focus on that as a very short-term strategy to keep you going?

I hope your DH is being supportive - returning to work after maternity leave is a hugely stressful and emotional time for the whole family.

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 18:59

Still hating work constantlyin tears in the loos...dh told me very sternly he would be f-ed off if I quit as we need the money which is true.

Tempted to poas tomorrow as its 4 days before af is due but know seeing a bfn and going to work will really upset me..trying to hold out til af is due (and no doubt arrives).

OP posts:
flowersfortea · 05/12/2012 18:16

Hello everyone, I'm beginning to feel a bit more human now (AF came with serious intent to destroy my entire being, painful and exhausting!). Bridget I'm with you on the whole is it AF or not issue, was nearly 24 hours before I knew for sure! Sorry for TMI... So if all goes well next fertile period will be in the lead up to Xmas, think it will be a bit better this time as I have more idea of what's going on and also now realise what everyone meant about the 2WW!

Anyway, loving the caffeine and booze for a few days. LYFMB how was today at work? I realised that if I have kids in childcare I will not be able to stay 3 hours late like I did today Xmas Angry

So what's with all this snow I'm hearing about? Just blimming cold here! Good to see some familiar names joining... here's to the first BFP come on girls!!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 13:31

Had to do it bridget I was starting to say things were pountless in real life lol!

OP posts:
BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 05/12/2012 12:49

Oh LoveYou - tsk, tsk, you spoil sport! The thread title has gone all, well, 'normal!'

I'm about to do some household stuff but I'm just enjoying a quick coffee with a glug dash of Baileys now that I know there is definitely no baby on board to get pickled.

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 11:44

Lol I cringe at the sp errors(!) I wonder if MNHQ can correct them for me? Cringe cringe...!

Am 7dpo today still no symptoms and certainly no bfp...hate the tww!

mythreekings I'm starting to feel pangs of jealousy when I see films or tv progs with families who have more than 1 child...i only want 2 come on bfp!!

OP posts:
Mythreeknights · 05/12/2012 11:08

Hello everyone, how are you all this cold and frosty morning? So, I was watching "15 kids and counting" last night, and I said to DH..."look! - all I want is 3 kids, not 15...so surely we can, you know..." and he grunted into his lasagna.

Bridget I agree - my first feeling was also that of jealousy...!! Although my overriding feeling was of absolute joy that they haven't had fertility issues as having a media invasion into why they haven't yet had a baby would really be the pits. At least we can suffer ours in private (or on MN!!)

So, I haven't managed to read every single post, but have we got any BFPs from our 'elite' (love it!) group yet?

Crossing my fingers for lots of shagging for everyone this month and for that errant stork to bring some bundles our way. xxx

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 05/12/2012 10:20

LoveYou I wish I could give you some advice but I don't know what to say - I just hope everything sorts itself out, and I'm happy to listen in the meantime.

It is great that DD is adjusting well and - although it is probably little comfort now - the women I know that did manage to juggle motherhood and work are definitely reaping the rewards now that their children are older

Today is cycle day 1 for me. AF, the cheeky minx, decides to start properly and with full-on cramps at 4am this morning after toying with me since the weekend. The Meanie Moo had even got me hoping my spotting could be implantation bleeding after all.

But - YIPPEE - it was snowing when I woke up - that has got to be a positive sign for this cycle hasn't it? Grin

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 06:16

bridget I was wondering if I should test later...i think I'll test around 9/10th when period is due and if af hasnt arrived test again a couple days later.

Dd seems reasonably settled but dh wont even discuss me quitting work, I do understand we have a hefty mortgage a toddler and ttc but I cant bare it.

mrs welcome! Are you in the tww at the moment?

OP posts:
MrsWajs · 05/12/2012 02:32

errr...got to* That's what I get for being cheeky!

MrsWajs · 05/12/2012 02:32

Ahh so this is where you pountless lot have get to!! Great thread title LYFMB Wink

I guess I should join here then since I am now on cycle 2.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 04/12/2012 22:47

Oh LoveYou sorry to hear work is crap. What does your DH think? Has DD settled ok with MIL? Do you think it is 'teething troubles' or more fundamental?

As you ovulated quite late, are you planning to test a bit later than normal?

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 04/12/2012 19:11

I know what you mean about kate middleton, shes going to be skinny with a perfect bump and show us all up Grin I was a whale last time!

The waiting to test is doing my head in!

In work news I want to quit and be with dd Sad

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 04/12/2012 19:04

Thanks Purple unfortunately the ironing pile is still quite big!

Yes, "tww" and "2ww" both stand for "two week wait". As a general rule you should be able to test for pregnancy 2 weeks after you ovulated (hence the 2ww)

You'll soon get the hang of the mumsnet lingo - think there is a list somewhere explaining most of them.

purpleaura · 04/12/2012 15:14

Evening all and thanks for the warm welcome :)

Hope you can at least see over the top of the ironing now bridget! Sorry to hear you've had a bad day loveyou The next good day will be just around the corner, just put the kettle on and hang on in there Brew

I can't believe Kate Middleton stole our thunder!! Still, it might raise profile of hyperemesis which sounds truly truly awful.

I have to admit to being a MN newbie... can someone please tell me what tww stands for? is it the same as 2ww? thanks Thanks

I'm not sure when i'm gonna test... I'll be ovulating around the 16th, and I read somewhere that it might take 2 or 3 weeks to show on a test. Does that sound about right to you? Good luck with your test loveyou- the 10th isn't very far away.. exciting times!!

x

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 04/12/2012 13:50

How is everyone today? Work is shit Sad not feeling v.pg today but as bridget pointed out its still early days so trying to feel positive.

OP posts:
LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 03/12/2012 22:27

bridget positive and enthusiastic is amuch nicer way to describe my ttc journey, I would say I'm more insane and obsessive(!) it's terrible as its sets me up for a fall. I too must admit that I feel a bit jealous at the royal news too....(not the extreme morning sickness bit to be fair).

purple are you in the tww now? When will you test? I'm testing around 10th dec unless AF shows up by then (BOO!)

flowers good luck for next cycle, in the meantime enjoy your Wine am sure it's not going to be too long a wait.
