Hazle that's awesome news! So sweet of the sonographer to do that as well Xmas Smile

Must be a relief!

HazleNutt · 07/12/2012 10:13

so news from my side - had the 12 week scan this morning, the sprog was actually kicking and seriously jumping around, I never would have though they are so active at this stage! Was really funny to see. 2 hands, 2 feet, everything looks normal, nuchal 1,2 mm. Should get the blood tests back in about 10 days.
The sonographer even made us a couple of special pictures to put in grandparents' christmas cards, where she typed on the scan: Merry Xmas, see you in June! Baby. Smile

So, happy when is the big day going to be? Any ideas already what you want to do?

BraveLilBear · 07/12/2012 10:07

Wow! Congrats Happy tell us more! What wonderful news. To think, the lengths some DP's go to to cheer us up after TTC disappointments Xmas Wink

Aqua trust me, you're not out til you're out. I had an Elderberry posse screaming at me to test when I was convinced I was about to come on - five days of AF pains and no sign. And they were right. Xmas Blush

captainmoll · 07/12/2012 09:48

Oh sorry, and Rache a lot of pg ladies get cysts during the pg that just clear themselves up. We all get cysts during regular AF cycles too that similarly disappear. Chances are it's a temporary blip. Mine is totally benign, though slightly less common, (and just little freaky to think about on account of the hair etc!)
Englebert would be funny Wink

captainmoll · 07/12/2012 09:44

Congratulations Happy!! That is brilliant news!

And thanks everyone for your very reassuring stories of cysty friends who have conceived, so good to know it's possible.

BelissimaLol · 07/12/2012 07:22

How did he propose? When do you plan to get hitched?
I have a MN friend who got her bfp 2 days before her wedding in oct! It was sooo exciting!

happylass · 07/12/2012 00:08

Aww thanks ladies. It's been a crazy day! Definitely going to carry on with the TTC Bunny I'm not giving up now! Quod we'd talked about it obviously but been so preoccupied with TTC lately that it hadn't even crossed my mind. Was totally Shock

Quodlibet · 06/12/2012 23:21

Massive congratulations Happy! We want the full story - were you expecting it at all?

Pipbin · 06/12/2012 23:17

Congratulations Happy.

Captain a friend of mine had a large cyst on one of her ovaries. She had it removed and got pg about 5 years later (she wasn't trying before that).

No real news here. I've got high on the CBFM so I guess it's shag fest for the next few days.

Rache1S · 06/12/2012 22:36

Wow, massive congratulations Happy, what a wonderful end to your day Xmas Grin

Aquarius You are very much still in the game until AF rears her ugly head. I think most of us PG ladies on here were convinced AF was imminent when we got our BFP's Xmas Smile

Captain you have filled me with fear! When I got my scan last week the Sonographer lady told me I have a cyst on my left ovary but I couldn't have cared less at the time because I was too busy being relieved that there was a heartbeat, but I hope it's not one of those mo fo's!! Xmas Shock I will interrogate further at my scan next Friday but if I have one mine will have to be Englebert Xmas Shock

navis176 · 06/12/2012 22:29

HazleNutt · 06/12/2012 21:27

awwwwww congrats!!!!

happylass · 06/12/2012 21:22

Thanks ladies. Well the day ended a lot better than it started because DP proposed this evening Grin Grin Grin. Almost forgotten about arrival of AF!!

Quodlibet · 06/12/2012 20:55

I heart Humperdinck. It's a fantastic name.

captainmoll · 06/12/2012 19:01

Happy sorry about AF - I was too freaked out by the discovery of my hairy toothy internal ball to say so earlier. FX for the next round.

BLol Crikey! A stone! It must have been huuuge! I don't think I'll be losing that much - mine is, it turns out, only small compared to many Dermoid cysts.

I won't get to see the doc til Friday week at the very earliest, and that's only if I call on the day and see if they have any cancellations. Otherwise I'll be looking at an appt end of the next week. Ridiculously, even though the ultrasound person told me the results, I have to wait a week for the same results to get to my GP, and then wait for her availability to see me to discuss them.

I think the cyst will only be causing fertility issues if it is restricting the fallopian tube (which is looks like it might be), but even then, the other ovary looks fine and many many many women conceive easily with just the one functioning ovary. So it's freaky and interesting, but probably not the main answer behind our fertility problems.

I think I'll call it Humperdink.

BelissimaLol · 06/12/2012 17:26

Sorry happy. Af can be a bitch.
Captain my aunt had a massive cyst a few years ago, similar to yours from what you described and after the op she lost almost a stone!! Silver lining and all that. At the time she was past conceiving age but I remember doc telling her it would have no impact. When do you go back to doc?
Nothing much happening here. Had a meeting and managed to forget I'm pregnant for a whole three hours!
Have an overwhelming tiredness. Will it end?

Purplemonster · 06/12/2012 16:22

Captain, my friend had a similar massive cyst (size of an orange!) which was only discovered when they investigated why she was bleeding during pregnancy so it's not ALL doom and gloom hopefully?

happylass · 06/12/2012 15:56

So sorry to hear that captain hope you get it sorted soon.

navis176 · 06/12/2012 15:52

oh no, bad news day Xmas Sad
Captain - sorry for your bad news and hope you get an appointment sorted soon. Quod's post sounds reassuring though...
Happy - sorry AF got you

BraveLilBear · 06/12/2012 15:36

What? No docs for two weeks? That's madness! Is that a consultant or something?

Don't get too downhearted - you might not have to put off TTC. Fx you'll be on the road to babyhood and cyst-free health really soon x

captainmoll · 06/12/2012 15:23

Quod very reassuring to hear your friend conceived whilst having one of these monsters. I'm quite tempted to give mine a nickname too..
Brave looks like I can't get a doctors appointment for about two weeks!

Independent is definitely the word! Silly impatient ovum..

Still, I have reassured myself that these Dermoid cysts are fairly common, and almost always harmless. Does look like surgery though (keyhole), and also putting off any more TTC until it's been dealt with, which is the biggest disappointment really. Could be a couple of months or more before I'm back on the TTC wagon. Sad
