I've started the new thread - how exciting!!

I hope this thread will bring lots of BFPs, good scan results and healthy new arrivals.

I meant to say welcome to LCR too. Am sure you'll find this thread really helpful and a great support.

beans really great news on the scan. I couldn't believe the difference between the 8 week and the 10 week scans. Where did the arms and legs come from?

I think brave and yikes may be on the thread in the pregnancy section. I haven't dared tempt fate by joining that one yet.

snorkmaiden congrats on passing your milestone. I can understand your reluctance to see a midwife until after your scan. My MCs always seemed to happen just after I made contact with the midwives - i've had to cancel 3 booking appointments in the past year.

iqkate so good to hear from another graduate.

Hope everyone else is doing ok too. Good luck to the 2wwers

Hi everyone,

Amazingly, I am 8 weeks all of a sudden! Someone warned me this would happen and it has! Passed the time of the first mc last week which always cheers me up even though there was never any particular possibility of me having another mc at that stage. I have told my best friend and DH has told his. I was totally set on not contacting the midwife until the start of Feb when I pass 12 weeks but my husband was very insistent I did. Not often he insists on anything so I did as I was told. Spoke to receptionist, telling her I didn't actually want a mw appt until after I'm 12 weeks so she has arranged for a GP to give me a call on Monday night which seems like a reasonable compromise. I'll ask him to refer me to my 12wk scan.

Feeling okay with it all really, not too mental. Actually, I've done that head in the sand thing and am totally ignoring the situation. Feeling crap enough to not worry but not so crap I can't cope. Not back to work until Monday though so will see how I am then!

Not remotely feeling confident yet, all still feels unreal but very happy to see time ticking by

HJBeans · 04/01/2013 19:12

Another good scan for me today - now measuring 10w3. Lots of moving around! Really surprising it can be that active without my feeling anything.

Wondering how brave and yikes are doing?

HJBeans · 04/01/2013 19:09

Hi lcr and sorry to hear of your loss. Know that being pg again after a mc is a mixed blessing and hope your test tonight brings happy news and not too much anxiety. You don't need worry about doing all you're not meant to have - have to believe the old wisdom of anything you do before you know you're pregnant is very unlikely to effect the baby at all. Sad truth of it is that we have very little control over whether we have a happy or sad outcome with any given pg - and it's this lack of control over something which effects us so deeply that I find perhaps hardest of all to cope with.

Lots of great stories to keep spirits up and worries in check on this thread, and when that fails lots of hand holding and support. Wishing you all of the best.

Fingers x'ed for u lcr77. Hoping I'm ovulating at th mo n gona drag hubby for cuddle time later.lol.xxxx

LCR77 · 04/01/2013 11:20

First post alert...Had a very turbulent few months and very nervous newbie. I had a suspected ectopic miscarriage in November with first pregnancy at 7 weeks. Then found out my sister was also pregnant and our due dates would have been only a few days apart. She has now also miscarried so trying to help her through it.

We're now TTC again as doctors told us there was no need to wait. After a very over-indulgent Christmas consuming everything you're not supposed to - excess alcohol, mouldy cheese and pate think I could be pregnant again. We conceived first month of trying last time and think it could have happened again. Preparing to take a test this evening and bricking it - reassurance and support needed.

MrsHerculePoirot · 04/01/2013 09:11

Jolly so glad your scan went week and that lots of you have lots of movement! Good luck with the stitch coming out moomin.

HJBeans · 03/01/2013 19:05

So glad to hear your scan went well, jolly, and that there may be an innocuous explanation for the bleeding. Will they be monitoring the placement of the placenta as you go along, or is it a wait for symptoms then scan sort of situation?

I'm well, thanks. Back to the UK last Saturday, though travelling to see friends over New Years since Sunday and only get back home a few hours before my scan at 10w2. Starting to get a bit anxious, though far less so than I would have been without that scan to investigate spotting at 8w. Know what you mean by 'getting into scan mode', cheese.

Has been good to see friends and keep my mind off the scan to come, though have been discussing pregnancy with lots of optimism and, I realise, beginning to believe it might just work this time - and that in itself makes me anxious.

Rubbish internet connection here, so apologies for no name checking, but best of luck to all on the 2ww and congrats to those taking concrete steps to get ready for a new arrival. Roll on a happy 2013.

Clairey2012 · 03/01/2013 18:18

Hi ladies.x
I finaly had my af on the 15th of Dec, only 3 days long tho. Hoping to get my BFP this month Jst not sure when I will ovulate. Do you rekon I will have to wait another 7 weeks to get my Af of will the time decrease. hoping I will ovulate soon, jst gota persuade the hubby to do the deed every other nite. HMMMMMMMM. lol.

lotsofcheese · 03/01/2013 13:20

Great news jolly and perhaps an explanation behind the spotting.

dorita good luck with your appointment. Hopefully you'll have some options to consider after.

I had my 20 week scan yesterday (nearly a week late). I am feeling increasingly less neurotic about m/c now (thanks to bubba's frequent movement) & had to get back into "scan mode" again - preparing for the worst. I guess m/c leaves you with fear & uncertainty - I am taking it 1 day/week at a time. The concept of a take-home baby is still a long way off....

Good luck to all the ttc ladies & to those in the 12 week wilderness - will be keeping everything crossed for you! Xxx

Moominsarescary · 03/01/2013 12:36

That's good news jolly

It's odd, I've spent all these months hoping for it to stay in and now it's getting so uncomfortable I can't wait for them to take it out!

Jollyb · 03/01/2013 11:42

Phew scan fine. 10+3 now. The edge of the placenta was quite close to the cervix and the Sonographer thought it could be from there.

moomins great to hear how you're doing and that the stitch has done its job.

lurcher congrats on the pram purchase.

dorita fingers crossed for the 2ww

Hello all, hope everyone had a good Christmas
jolly good luck with the scan, hope all is ok x

Just over 34 weeks here, stitch comes out a week Friday. I packed my hospital bag yesterday and finished buying what we needed over Christmas. Still can't believe he will be here in the next 5 weeks though and maybe as soon as next week! Shock

InsomniaQueen · 03/01/2013 01:04

Hello moshpitters!!!! Long time now metal!!!

Glad to see so many of you are doing well since my last check (DD is now 9 months old) and that we have a few more mosh pit graduates!!

Keeping fingers crossed for all of you in the TTC phase, scan panic stage and kick counting madness. Hoping that all your metalling is worth while and we have lots more positive news on the the thread for 2013.

Love and hugs from casaIQ xxx

Dorita75 · 02/01/2013 19:19

Fingers crossed for you jolly though sounding hopeful that red bleed is stopping, glad you've got a scan to reassure yourself.

How are the 2ww-ers? AF due here on Friday...been symptom spotting ever since my boobs hurt running down the stairs 10 days ago though that didn't last so probably just one of those things. It's turned me into a right metaller this month though which I hope doesn't equal bigger let down than normal if AF turns up. Got next appointment at Liverpool women's next week though to see if we get put on an IVF list or not...

Happy New Year to everyone!! x

lurcherlover · 02/01/2013 18:37

I bought my double buggy today pebs - got a bargain (I hope) from eBay. That feels like a real "up yours" to Fate - I'm looking forward to collecting it but also a bit nervous...

Everything crossed for you tomorrow jolly - how many weeks are you now? Still feeling nauseous is a good sign so I'm sure all will be fine.

pebspop · 02/01/2013 13:29

funny you should say that jolly my friend is selling a barely used travel system for a bargain price so i might be getting it! just need to see her to find out more about it. that will be scary!

Jollyb · 02/01/2013 12:00

polka glad things are moving forward for you. It's interesting that your consultant recommended the progesterone - mine was quite adamant that it wouldn't help. From other forums it does seem to be fairly commonly used though - so who knows!

pebs. Babygros - well done you! Next you'll be buying a pram. Glad everything is going ok though. Am sure your movements will become more pronounced soon. I had an anterior placenta with DD and never had the 'keep you awake at night' movements that my NCT friends had but I worked out what was normal for me. I had to go in for monitoring a couple of times but was never made to feel I was wasting anyone's time.

hj are you back home now? How are you feeling?

No more red bleeding here - very light brown spotting so not too worried about scan tomorrow. Still feeling very nauseous so fingers crossed all is ok.

polka my wft cycles have always lasted for at least 6 weeks - the longest being 12 weeks. i don't think i ov in that cycle either as i never get EWCM. i wait for first af before ttc.

jolly hope you are ok and managing not to worry too much before tomorrow. these babies don't like us to relax do they?!

I am 26 weeks now. had a scan last week which was fine. i am feeling movements but mainly when i lie down with my hands pressed against my stomach. i think this is due to my anterior placenta. i was starting to relax but the old anxiety feelings are sneaking back in. starting to worry myself about the kicking even though i can feel it. i am crazy! my midwife is coming on monday so will speak to her about it.

i bought a few baby gros last week so maybe that is what has got me worried. i should have waited.

HJBeans · 01/01/2013 23:37

Happy 2013, all. Hope it's a good year for you all.

Sorry you've got continuing stressful bleeding, jolly, and that you need to wait so long to have a scan. Hope its some comfort that it's happened before in this pg and all was well, but can well understand that's not much help until you can be checked out. Will be thinking of you and hoping for the best.

Polka2 · 01/01/2013 21:18

I'm day 42 not 32(!) and tested day 38 previously! Duh!

Polka2 · 01/01/2013 21:17

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

jolly hope the bleeding/anxiety settles down, I'm sure Thursday seems a fecking long wait!

wilde and lurcher I can't believe how the weeks have flown by, YEY to viability, keep those positive vibes going Wink

AFM had my appt with the NHS specialist who's going to fudge things so I can have the investigative tests done even tho we've 'only' suffered two losses, which is good news. Confused

She's also told me to take baby aspirin all thru' TTC and as when I get a BFP thru pg too, she's also said at BFP stage to take progesterone pessaries throughout pg too, that's scaring me a bit as reflexologist reckons I mc cos my body doesn't cope with progesterone surges traditional or alternative? Who knows best?

I'm day 32 of the WTF cycle, I weakened and tested on day 28 and it was bfn so god only knows what's going on! Confused

I hope 2013 beings lots if viable pgs and BFPs for one and allWink
