Hi all and sorry for the long radio silence. Had a nice catch up post several days ago which was eaten by my browser (grr) and haven't found the time to retype.

I, too, have been thinking of you someday and hope you're as we'll as can be in the circumstances. Thanks

Welcome to kerry and redbird - sorry you find yourselves in the thread but hope find it as much a comfort as I have.

How are things for you, jolly? Charging into the second trimester with confidence and feeling well, I hope?

And good luck to all those on the ttc/2ww buses at the moment. :-)

As for me, many belated thanks to the folks a while back with useful suggestions about my backache. It settled down after a week or so, but am booked in with antenatal physio in case it returns and will speak to the rheumatologist, too.

Had my 12 week scan at 13w2 today and all looking good so far. I think I'm finally beginning to believe this might go ahead and my 'this is a pregnancy, not a baby' defence mechanisms are melting a bit. Still feel immediately nervous following any happy/hopeful feelings, but it's getting better.

Redbird12 · 24/01/2013 19:42

Hi All, thanks for the welcome. Buzzybeetop looks like we are about the same number of weeks then as I am now 6 weeks pg. You were right about the NHS scans though, despite the GP saying I could get an early reassurance scan, when I received the letter from the hospital, they had booked me in for the start of March when I would be 12 weeks. Called them today and they said they don't do any early scans except in medical emergencies!
So we have decided to pay privately for an early scan, I just can't deal with the anxiety of waiting until March. So booked in for start of Feb. if anything has gone wrong, I would rather know sooner than later rather than have another month of thinking I was pregnant and making plans in my head.
So hard to stay positive though and really don't want to get my hopes up yet.

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/01/2013 13:23

Hi someday, hope you are still taking care of yourself. Hope everything went as well as it could.

Redbird - I am so glad it is you with a new BFP!

Dorita glad you have cracked the morning sickness malarky.

I think my cbfm will ask me to start using the sticks tomorrow, so here we go again.... I did also find out recently that my diabetes hasn't been nearly as well controlled as I thought, or perhaps was kidding myself that I thought, so I am back being careful with that with a venegence too. I have my review tomorrow and last time they recalled me in three months and then withint that three months I fell pregnant so I am hoping for the same again...

Dorita75 · 22/01/2013 21:38

Hi Redbird I remember you from mc thread last year, congratulations and well done on new bfp!

I don't want to speak too soon but think I've cracked this morning sickness lark, I just eat every 30mins. Even though I still get pukey feeling waves it's not as often and not as bad. Hoping it's not going to get worse, we're away for a week next week and our hols usually involve us walking for miles each day, I think exercise makes my sickness worse so not sure I'm going to have the best time! Will have to modify our plans a bit...though, not complaining, just glad I'm pg!!

How are you jolly how far along are you now? Doesn't seem that long ago you got you bfp!

Hope you ttc-ers are keeping yourselves bd busy!!

lurcherlover · 22/01/2013 21:11

HI someday - have been thinking of you and wondering how you were doing. Hope you're resting and taking things very easy after everything you've been through Thanks

Jollyb · 22/01/2013 20:32

Meant to say hello to kerry and redbird too. Welcome to this lovely thread.

Hi SomeDay! Hope your op went as ok as it could, and that your body gets itself back to normal ASAP. There's a nice little group of us now...might make the whole thing less terrifying!

Jollyb · 22/01/2013 20:23

yikes/someday have been thinking about you. Hope you were well looked after yesterday and that you are taking it easy. What a blood roller coaster this TTC/pregnancy business is.

SomeDaySoon74 · 22/01/2013 19:55

Hello everyone. (Yikes here, with a name-change to reflect my less-giddy state of mind post mc & TFMR). I'm officially back joining the TTC gang (boy, kerry, mrsHP, etc) after having had my op yesterday. I'm planning on waiting til AF arrives before starting again though as I'd like to give my body a break first and need to get over the shock of what's just happened. But I thought I'd nest/lurk here for a while in the meantime if that's ok. Smile

buzzybeetop · 22/01/2013 17:52

Hi redbird I also had 2mcs last year at 8 and 12 weeks and I'm about 6 weeks pregnant now. I totally agree with trying to be positive, during my second pregnancy last year I was so negative but this time I think that although there may be more heartbreak in store why not be happy to be pregnant. That said I'm not letting myself think more than a week ahead yet. Hope you manage an early scan on the nhs, unfortunately I didn't but maybe as yours were mmc they'll do one.

Dorita I'm also at nearly exactly the same stage of pregnancy that I was at this time last year. This is also when I would have been due had I not had second mc so glad I am pregnant. Any hopes of taking it easy have been dashed this afternoon, just had to carry a screaming toddler from the park while pushing a broken pushchair!

Hello boy and kerry sorry you've found yourselves here. I'm not sure how much I believe in this "highly fertile" time post mc but I think it's supposed to last6 months. I would start ttc when you feel ready emotionally, good luck I'm sure you'll get lots of support here

BoyMeetsWorld · 22/01/2013 17:33

Whoops, double post sorry! (clearly too keen Grin)

BoyMeetsWorld · 22/01/2013 17:18

Hi again all,

AF has finally arrived hurray so now I'm just waiting to get going. Scared but excited. Mainly scared.

Kerry - I looked into this too & couldn't find any studies showing good reason why you shouldn't TTC straight away. I didn't, but only really as needed some time emotionally.

Is the 'extra fertile' window after erpc literally only until AF returns then (1 month in my case)?

Hi Mrs HP

Yes, think we were on the same mc thread last year, I had an MMC start of Jan 2012 and a second in March. Had tests but they all came back as normal so we have been ttc again for the last 7 months and finally got a BFP. Just hoping that this one sticks, already finding it hard to concentrate at work when I know the next couple of weeks are crucial to get past the point the babies' heartbeats stopped last year. Hope you are ok and see you are ttc so hope Feb is your month.

MrsHerculePoirot · 21/01/2013 21:08

Thanks lrc

Welcome kerry and redbird. Red - are you the same redbird from the mmc thread about a year ago?

Redbird12 · 21/01/2013 21:05

Hi All

Hope you don't mind if I join you as recently found out I was pregnant and already feeling a bit anxious. I had 2 MMC's early last year, only finding out at the scans each time that there was no heartbeat. Second time was twins.

After several months TTC, finally got a BFP last weekend and am now between 5-6 weeks. Saw the doctor today and asked to be referred for an early scan, if anything has gone wrong would rather know sooner than later. She thought I could get an NHS scan at 7-8 weeks rather than waiting 12.

DH won't even talk about it yet, he is so convinced there's more heartbreak in store whilst I want to be more positive but have no one to talk to so thought it wold help to share with you lovely Mnetters as I had a lot of support last year on the mc board.

LCR77 · 21/01/2013 16:32

MrsHP good luck for Feb - fingers crossed for you

LCR77 · 21/01/2013 16:20

Hi all

Thanks for all your kind words of support it really does help. I've got another 5-6 weeks till 12 week scan so just taking it a day at time. We've now told some family which helps although I was nervous about telling my sister who had a MMC just before Christmas. She was great though - admitted she was jealous but that knowing I'm pregnant so quickly gives her hope.

Welcome to this thread kerry it's a very friendly bunch here. so sorry to hear about your MMC. Only you and your partner can know if it's the right time to TTC again. For me, I just wanted to start again as soon as poss. We'd waited so long to start trying (we've been together 7 years) I didn't want to hang around. Luckily it happened straight away although I did have one AF first. My sister has also decided to start straight away and is hoping she's not far behind me.

Happy endings are always good to hear for those who have suffered miscarriages. A close friend of mine had two miscarriages in the last few years including a molar pg, has polycystic ovaries and only ovulating every other month and last week had a healthy baby who was a whopping 10lb 1oz!!

To all TTCers don't give up hope and happy shagging!

lurcherlover · 21/01/2013 12:47

Thanks guys, I have been timing and counted 10 movements in two hours and bubs is having a good little wriggle now so I'm not worried any more. She is definitely a quieter baby than DS was - haven't had any of the big belly rolls I used to get all the time with him. Perhaps the theory that boys are more active even in the womb than girls is true after all...

Dorita75 · 21/01/2013 10:59

Welcome Kerry same story here, mmc and erpc, and am o negative which I didn't realise before.I'd say it's up to you, part of me wishes I'd taken advantage of the supposed fertile time, so we may have fallen pregnant again more quickly (I'm pg exactly a year+10 days later) but on the other hand I did pass a small amount of tissue 2 months after, this didn't cause any problems and doctor wasn't concerned but maybe waiting did help ensure everything was clear.

For the worry about lack of movement, have I read on here that drinking a can of coke usually wakes things up?! To help reassure?

As for me, 6+3 and feeling nauseous pretty much every waking moment. I'm glad of the symptoms, but god I feel shit sometimes! Got supply of nature valley ginger nut crunch bars constantly on the go which is helping control the waves.....glad I told my boss so it explains my lack of enthusiasm in the office!

pebspop · 21/01/2013 10:42

just popping on for a quick message - nned to ready back properly.

my baby isn't moving so much the last couple of days either lurcher i lay down this morning before work and counted ten kicks and he is wriggling a bit as i type! i was planning to ring mw if he didn't get moving soon. maybe it's too cold for them!

lurcherlover · 21/01/2013 09:30

Hi kerry, welcome to the thread. I had a mmc too that was found at the dating scan - it is such a cruel way to miscarry as you think you've got to 12 weeks with no bleeding so you're "safe" and you go to the scan excited about how you'll soon be able to announce your news to the world. Lots of us on here have had mmcs and we completely understand how you're feeling. I had an erpc too - it's a straightforward procedure and very safe and you have just as good a chance of a successful pregnancy next time as someone who has never had a mc.

I was advised to wait one cycle before trying to conceive. They say this for a few reasons: one is so they can date your next pregnancy (although my cycle after AF was stupidly long so this didn't work for me - by dates I was 8 weeks when I was actually only 5 weeks!), to make sure that any tissues from the mc pass with your period (there won't be much left after an erpc though, if anything) and to let your womb lining build up a bit again. I was however told that if I did become pg straight away it wouldn't be harmful, so it's really up to you. Personally I was happy to wait one cycle as we had a holiday booked for shortly after the mc, and I enjoyed guilt-free booze without worrying whether or not I was pg again. But if you would feel better getting back to ttc straight away, then go for it. I got pg on my next cycle after AF and am almost 28 weeks now, and so far everything has been fine (although you never lose your fear of scans after a mmc).

Hope everyone else is doing OK. I've been a bit worried yesterday and this morning as bubs has been quieter than usual - I'm 28 weeks on Weds so only just at the point of needing to start counting the kicks, and I have felt her move, but not as much and her movements are quieter. If I don't get a few big ones today I might go and get the mw to listen in (if I can get out in the snow that is).

tasmaniandevilchaser · 21/01/2013 09:15

Hi kerry sorry to hear about your mmc, mine was discovered at the 12 wk scan, it's such a horrible experience, I know. I'd crack on with TTC as you're meant to be more fertile after a loss, but it might make it more difficult with dating the next pg if you don't have an AF. It's really your call.

Hi to boy as well, My due date would have perfect too! Life just doesn't work like that sometimes Sad.

lcr great news!

Hi to everyone else!

Kerrynumber1 · 21/01/2013 05:18

Hi all, can I join?

I had a MMC and found out at 12 week scan on Friday 11/01/13. i was just over 13wks pg but our much awaited baby bug had passed at week 6/7 with no symptoms at all. We were shocked and felt drained and empty. We opted to have an ERCP on the following Tuesday 15/01/13. The procedure was quick and just about pain-free the nursing staff were fantastic since this was our 1st pregnancy i was in bits and i'd never had an op before so the whole event terrified me. After the op i recovered quite quickly and had very light bleeding which was monitored together with my bp which has been a little low. I was given an Anti D injection before being discharged as i'm O neg. Once we were home i continued to bleed very lightly for the rest of the day/night but by the next day this had stopped.

We have decided that we would like to TTC again ASAP and are unsure whether to wait for AF or just go for it as soon as we get a BFN on a HPT? any advice guy's?

Best of luck to everyone TTC love and hugs K xx
