Welcome to our new humble abode for the next six weeks or so, Brookers!

Here's hoping this fred will be as lucky as sparks' and scarlett's [hgrin]

OP posts:
BeedleTheBard · 20/11/2012 09:33

Unfortuneatly before OV won't work - he won't be able to get an early morning appointment at that short notice, and rat-smacking in earnest will start around CD7. So I'll work out when Cd17 is and tell him to make an appointment after that - to give him time for 3 days build up :o

I feel fine really, despite being convinced every month that I am pregnant Hmm, after 20-something cycles AF turning up is more oh FFS than tears and depression

keepitgoing · 20/11/2012 09:19

dammit beedle, but give him the deadline of before your ov this month - so a week, given your cycles!! Hope you have an ok day. CD1 always sucks.

BeedleTheBard · 20/11/2012 08:52

hmm it seems my crampy feelings were in fact just period pain. Oh well 23 days is better than 22. Now I can suggest to MrB that he books his JIAJ appointment, to be followed by reminding him, nagging him and finally beating him into submission :o

Geeklette · 20/11/2012 08:13

keep yeah, the latest date is 18th January, but rumbles in the jungle from the four (count 'em!) project managers are that that is now unrealistic and it is likely to go back even further Grin Grin Grin

keepitgoing · 20/11/2012 08:12

what, geek! i thought your software was going live in oct, then nov, following your ICSI plans... I understand you not telling your mother, and it does very much depend on the situation and your relationship. Just make sure that you have the support you need; and sometimes people you might not think of first actually turn out to be amazing. You will need someone around post-op so hope mrgeek can be there.

An ironing BFP. Would that come from multitasking while smacking the rat?!

Geeklette · 20/11/2012 08:00

erm... solars I did of course mean you ironic BFP, not your ironing BFP...

Geeklette · 20/11/2012 07:59

solars that is brilliant news that your cycles are almost back to normal so soon after IVF. Brooking for your ironing bfp to completely disprove the endo theory.

keep my sweet, you have nothing to apologise for. We Brookers are a multi-national, worldwide secret organisation and time differences are just one of those things Grin Pink tinged CM you say? At 7 DPO? That is exciting! I know what you mean though, you don't want to say anything to raise expectations, it's hard enough to have your own shattered. With clomid and IUI just around the corner, maybe try concentrating on getting yourself prepared for that. However, I am brooking that your plan has scared your body into behaving itself and this is the start of your BFP! So jealous of you being able to go to the beach. It's raining here, with a weather warning of high winds.

beedle congrats on having a longer-than-22-days cycle, there is always a chance until the red lady sings, and she hasn't sung for you yet!

I too am Shock that smegs is up next - she was my first brooking BFP (I was kind of around for fluff's, but only lurking).

keep your advice to talk to someone in real life is excellent advice. Unfortunately for sparks, she may have drawn the short straw as I haven't told anyone in real life, other than two (male) work colleagues as I work very closely with them and they were so concerned when I said I needed to have hospital appointments. None of my few and far spread out family members know. The only time I have planned to tell my mum is if when IVF is successful and I can give her good news. I am an only child, so her only hopes for grandchildren rest with me. We've never talked about me not having kids, I think she has just come to the conclusion over the years that it was through choice. She makes a lot of fuss over her sister's grandchildren and sometimes it's easier to think something is off the cards, than tried for and not happened if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Right, time to sort trains out and pull myself together for work. Looking forward to telling dink-boss I need thursday morning off, not to mention a couple of weeks next feb when our software is due to be going live Grin

keepitgoing · 20/11/2012 07:29

god, we don't learn do we. Do you know when you ovulated? i can't remember if you use ov sticks or cbfm etc. I am brooking like crazy that your test tomorrow will show it up! mine is just some slightly pink tinged cm. ARGH. I am not going to say anything to dh. i am not, i am not, i am not.

sometimes you just have to tell it to men straight - no waiting around. my DH took 7 years to propose Shock (we were only 18 when we got together though...)

BeedleTheBard · 20/11/2012 07:15

keep I completely missed your implantation bleeding earlier Shock Brooking that its not just AF making early entrance. I am also being mental, as I'm feeling very crampy but with no signs of blood - obviously I must be updiffed Hmm
Me and MrB did the long distance thing for years, mainly because I thought he should invite me to live here with him - then I gave up and told him I was moving here :o Although part of me thinks it would have been nicer if I'd moved earlier, a lot of things worked a lot better because I moved when I did - his job, my language skills and therefore my ability to get a job.

I'm sure 2 weeks will fly by especially seeing as you've got a trip to the beach to look forward to.

keepitgoing · 20/11/2012 06:00

beedle you're right. It's easier to visit i think. But it's only two weeks, and I may be going to go to the beach next weekend anyway (IUI and AF depending) so not long at all really. Will keep myself busy. Interesting to hear about your longer cycle... Wink but i think either way a longer cycle is good (not too long, though, eh geek) How long did you and mrb do long distance? we did it many years ago before living together and i absolutely hated it.

BeedleTheBard · 20/11/2012 05:30

geek I'm sorry, nothing's ever simple is it? Why can't we just have sex a couple of times and get pregnant like other people do???? Sorry you have to wait until Feb, but your doc sounds really thorough. And think how shiny and perfect you'll be inside after the op, what embryo wouldn't want to spend 9 months there? :o

I also can't believe that smegs is next, though she did cheat and miss 4 weeks of her pregnancy Shock

Yeah for ovulation solars and for your imminent post-ivf, pre-Christmas, we've-been-relaxing, ironic BFP :o

Well I've managed a longer cycle than last month which I'm rather pleased about, 22 days just felt a bit too short, currently on CD24, so I imagine the witch will be here tomorrow.

keep hope you're not feeling too lonely now your back without DH. WHen me and DP were living in different countries I always thought it was easier when I went to see him as I was used to being at home without him. Whereas when he came to see me and then went again my flat felt suddenly really empty. Hope you've got lots of things to keep you occupied till he comes home

keepitgoing · 20/11/2012 02:39

Oh geek lovely, I?m sorry I wasn?t around last night, stupid time-zones. But of course all the other lovelies rallied. What a lot you are going to have done, and what a lot to think about. It sounds as though you have an excellent consultant, not willing to go in without the right info ? imagine if they rushed in and then had to do a repeat op. I know you?ve been working yourself up to the ICSI for so long, and had hoped to do it last month, so this must be very frustrating for you. We are here brooking for you all the way. Does anyone in real life, apart from mrgeek obviously, know about all this? If not would you consider confiding in a friend as this is very difficult for you, especially if you don?t feel able to be leaning on mrgeek. Just a thought. I think sparks is close, so she may have to do Smile

Ooh solars I am brooking for your ironic bfp in under 2 weeks then. That?s good you?ve gone back to normal so quickly, only a few days late.

As for me, I am mental. 7dpo and I seemed to have a bit of blood this morning, which I never do at this time. Please don?t let me get any hopes up as I am trying to get my head round starting clomid and IUI next week. And me being me it?s almost certainly nothing.

I cannot believe smegs is up next ? I suppose she did miss part of her pregnancy with the whole HSG-thing Grin. Good luck, smegs, if you?re reading (sorry I can?t come over to ante-natal?)

Solars · 19/11/2012 21:24

Geek yes of course all will be fine. We've found a consultant now who we're going to see hopefully soon, so will let you know what he says about the endo cyst! Hope you and MrGeek have a nice evening despite the worries, hugs to you both.

I'm ok Keep, thanks for asking, think I've ovulated over the weekend which is a few days later than normal but i half expected it to be late due to the ivf so I'm in the 2ww and hoping for an ironic BFP as we've been quite relaxed and not really believing it will happen anyway due to possible endo. When does your DH get back now?

Waves to Gen hope all is well lovely.

Sparkes I love your thread by the way and had quite a few of those said to me within the last week or so!

Missing all those lurking, hope you're all well!

Geeklette · 19/11/2012 17:44

Haha sparks you may need one of those coily plastic things that mums put on kids' wrists if they have a tendency to wander!!

All safely back home now, and feeling better for having a coffee inside me. I think half my misery is from feeling under the weather with this head cold, too. Just scared myself silly googling ovarian drilling (consultants' orders - he said read up about it!) but anything that helps is fine by me.

Thank you for the hugs and lovely words sparks, boo, rubber, solars and bartlet. I don't know what I would do without you lovely ladies to keep me sane Grin

solars you are so luck with MrSolars, it is wonderful that you can lean on him like that. Unfortunately, MrGeek is a worrier even worse than me and would look to me to reassure him - I'd rather not have that added pressure just now. Thankfully I have this fred where I can vent and be scared. And I am a Brooker, and am Brooking No Argument that everything will be fine :)

SecretSparkle · 19/11/2012 17:34

geek if you're prepared to battle a crowd then I shall introduce you to the delights of the German market Grin your antlers will be perfect there!!!

BartletForTeamGB · 19/11/2012 16:56

geek, just coming by to hugs you. Will be brooking.

Solars · 19/11/2012 16:06

Geek you poor love, if it's any consolation I know how you feel as I too feel broken inside with this quite possible endo. But as others have said lean on MrGeek that is what he is there for (MrSolars is being leaned on excessively at the moment) and you shouldn't have to be brave for him, for the outside world perhaps but not for him. You need an outlet or else you could find yourself going to pieces! You have a plan in place with is fantastic so give yourself some time to process everything and don't be too hard on yourself ((hugs))

Geeklette · 19/11/2012 16:01

Thank you everyone, you are all really really lovely (and really really riht of course!) I'm on a warm train now so feeling slightly more human again.

sparks i may just take you up on that offer for coffee. If we wait til december I can give my tinsel antlers their first outing of the year :)

Princessishavingababyboo · 19/11/2012 15:52

Goodness Geek what a lot to deal with {{{hugs}}} whether you want them or not!

Well now you have all the info and a plan in place, but what a lot of info to process. Lean on Mr g, you don't have to be brave about it, enjoy Christmas cos next year will be surgery then pregnant!

RubberBullets · 19/11/2012 15:46

Oh Geek.

Right, there are a number of things wrong but now you know and have a plan to sort them.

There is enough brooking power to get through this. With all that treatment your body is going to become the ultimate baby making environment so make the most of these next few months before the op before all the morning sickness, cramp, indigestion, fat bloaterness hits :)

SecretSparkle · 19/11/2012 15:46

oh Geek you poor love Sad I totally understand why you feel like that, but dont feel you have to put on an act for mrgeeks, Im sure he will understand why you feel that way. I don't know what else to say, other than at least they are being thorough, I know your not a huggy person, but if you want to meet up for a coffee or something let me know

Geeklette · 19/11/2012 15:29

Hello ladies, apologies on advance as am on phone but will try to keep my imp fingers to a minimum!

Just got out from my appointment. Seems I am a bit of a mess down thrtr, and the consultant expects to deal with four different things when I have my op. I will habe d&c, ovarian drilling, fibroid investigation and attempted removal of adhesoons.
He will also check during d&c for internal adhesions and fit me with a coil to open me up if necrssary.

Before I can have the op I need another scan, and dependimg on the finfings of that I may need an mri too. Je wants as much info as possible before je opens me up.

Op won't be til feb due to paperwork needing to go back and forth between clinic and nhs. Still a lot quicker than getting the whole thing on nhs though.

He did say that if his investigations find that my fibroid is in any way inside the uterus the op would stop and I would need a full open op at a latrr date to remove it. He said if it's in the uterus at all, that would prevent me carrying a pregnancy.

Oh ladies, I'm trying to put a brave fave on for mrgeek but I feel so broken Sad

Missed train back so sat on platform for an hour waiting for the next, so sorry for long me post but wanted to get it all down somewhere befoore I forget it all.

Princessishavingababyboo · 19/11/2012 14:07

Hi Keep we are all staring at Smegs at the mo, due any time now Grin

keepitgoing · 19/11/2012 13:52

Good luck geek! Let us know how it went.

solars!!what's new with you, lovely? Hope you're OK. I think that a second opinion sounds great, as it's a big decision. Hope you can get seen soon.

Lovely to see Bartlett and gen. Whose next up to sneeze out a gorgeous brooking baby?

GenericDietCola · 19/11/2012 10:34

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still brooking for you! Anyone that is feeling despondent about TTC taking a long time, I want to reassure you that you will get there in the end because you are brookers. Fact. It took about 18 months for me this time, with 2 mcs on the way, so I know what a tough, all-consuming journey it is, but I refuse to admit defeat for any of you!
