TTC after recent mc - Thread 2

Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

OP posts:

Lactulose is just a stool softener, makes it totally comfortable to go. I'm not sure if it would help with trapped wind, I've heard windeze is very good for that though.

The only thing with "shagging at will" (Poor Will) is that I won't know when I'm late, or when to legitimately poas if I do think I may be pregnant again.

Thundercatsarego · 18/11/2012 09:18

Morning all,

Hi yorkshire, Grin at the stockings analogy (or whatever the right word is...too early for me)

echo, good luck for poas tomorrow.

gary, ouch, that really stings getting those appointment reminders. Very organised booking a holiday for next September though! Where are you off to?

Hi james, sorry you've been feeling so rough. Were you advised a certain amount of time before 'trying' again? My doc said after one cycle but we were thinking of doing the same as you- once the bleeding has stopped just DTD and enjoying it! and seeing what happens.

kitty glad you're feeling alright and are being looked after. Why did the nurse choose 4 weeks I wonder?! Mine just said until the bleeding stops otherwise there's a risk of infection. I poas yesterday hoping like an idiot for bfn but no joy, even on a crappy test.

lol - at least you saw some! Sounds great. well done on the poo too When is poas day for you?

Does lactulose help bloating/trapped wind cramps and discomfort?

Lolcbcblemonlime · 18/11/2012 08:08

Morning! Did see some lights but not as defined as I was hoping. Damn BBC for putting images in our mind. We might decide to go again tomorrow as the forecast is clear skies.
Woke up at around 6 as I had a very clear dream of a frer with a bfp!!!!! Gosh that freaked me out!
Have a good Sunday everyone
Ps James good news on the naughty shag. Why not?!!!!

KittyBump · 18/11/2012 00:37

lol congratulations on your poo :) hope you got to see some lights x
echo how was the protest? And well done for joining in, it's 2012 and a woman cannot choose to have an abortion - madness.
james I'm good thanks :) few twinges every now and again and teeny bit of bleeding but all in all good. DH made me a lovely dinner for when I got home and we're having a quiet weekend (translation - no visit from the inlaws!). The nurse who discharged me said no sex for 4 weeks, when you look through this thread (and others) the range of advice we are given after mc is laughable. Still on the fence about whether to try straightaway or not, decided to poas for BFN on 26th as this will be 10 days post ERPC (totally arbitrary amount). Hope you all had a good Saturday x

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/11/2012 23:31

Hi all, been reading back over Iceland, Amsterdam, scans, protestors, poas addiction and massive poos! (Lactulose is your friend, top tip) Grin

I've had a shit week, won't bore you with it but it's been uber stressful. And exacerbated by a sodding plethora of crappy signs of being really run down since the mc. I'm pale, washed out, I have a cold and a cough, I've had two coldsores at once, two mouth ulcers, and a stye in my eye! Sad all those things are going/gone now but I don't think I've ever felt as unattractive as I have this week!

And yet somehow we've dtd twice this week (the bag on my head helped lol) Wink which is a bit naughty as we've only just got a bfn, bleeding has been gone about a week. I don't know if we're "trying" or not, I'm not using the ov sticks, I guess we're just doing what we want and seeing what comes of it. I'm feeling much better about the mc this week, it isn't as raw, I'm not thinking about it half as much and I don't actively feel sad or flat. I suppose the lack of pg hormones is helping with that, I feel ready to try again now.

Kitty how are you doing?

messtins · 17/11/2012 19:17

Hope the lights play ball and appear - I'd love to see them one day.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 17/11/2012 18:56

Hi all
Quick hello from Iceland.
Poo update Grin. Not done it on plane (phew) but needed to have a massive poo as soon as got to hotel. Very romantic!!
All seems kind of normal now. Freezing here!!! Off to see northern lights this evening.
Hope everyone is doing ok x

EchoAlone · 17/11/2012 18:28

Cancelling dinner, joining protest

EchoAlone · 17/11/2012 18:27

I was actually laughing at lol's response to my last posting. I did buy 50 tests. I was unhappy with the treatment at my hospital( more of that to follow) but the tests were SO cheap that the control line does not even appear sometimes. I only have one left, unless some are secreted around the place-I had a few storage places-like an alcoholic hiding bottles-and will wait till Monday as thunder has advised to use it.

DH and I planned to go out to dinner tonight, but he thinks we should cancel. The city is full of people protesting. The protests are on because of our local hospital where a woman died when her requests for a termination were not granted. I told him the protesters have a just cause, and are probably peaceful

GaryBuseysTeeth · 17/11/2012 17:54

Name changer here (the one who would be having foals).

After getting my scan date through last week, and having to phone them & let them know I'd already told them I've mc-ed...I got a phone call today reminding me of my midwife appointment tomorrow (luckily DH took the call), one more thing & I'm going to complain to PALS or whoever, it's fucking me right off. :(

Echo, when did you last do a test? I'd give it until Monday at the earliest. Fingers crossed for you. x

Wine for yorkshire & bear, sorry your body is laughing at you.
Glad you're out & all went well Kitty, hope you get a bfn soon!

Mess, glad you had a lovely time in Amsterdam & made future plans!

We've got a holiday booked for Sept, so in my mind I really have that set as a date I'd like to be pregnant (but not ready to drop) for! Infact I'd be upset if I weren't pg by then.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Lol, hope your flight wasn't too toilet based.

YorkshirePeanut · 16/11/2012 21:36

Hi girls!

Well, the witch got me eventually! Knew the b*tch would find me Out for Nov, in for a Christmas BFP. The only Christmas present I'm more likely to get by wearing stockings rather than hanging them by the chimney...

As a side note, because I was always on the pill/implant, this is the first time I've ever, EVER had PMT. And oh my word, I'm a psycho when my own hormones are allowed out to play! Spent yesterday and today crying, sulking, screaming, and convincing myself that my ovaries had spontaneously combusted and would never work again because I was overdue but no BFP. And then AF showed up and made me feel a right numpty Grin. Glad she's here though, at least it looks like the PCOS isn't going to be the issue I thought it would be, at least as far as cycle regularity goes.

Hi thunder sorry you're here xx

Mess Hamsterjam sounds lovely, and as you say there is no such thing as a wasted shag Wink. Good idea making babyfree plans, I realised when I read your post that all my plans have revolved around when I'm likely to be pregnant/have a baby, which I realise is a natz psychotic. Resolving to make plans minus the baby factor so I can look forward to something no matter what!

lol ahahaha I hope you didn't hog the toilet for the whole flight! Enjoy Iceland!

pink hope you're ok after crash!

kittybump glad you're out and all went well, hope you're not waiting long for BFN x

And hello to everyone else, sorry if I missed you - I've given up scrolling up and down and can't remember what everyone's been saying, but hope you're all doing ok xxx

Thundercatsarego · 16/11/2012 21:16

Evening all.

bear I'm sure your body isn't really laughing at you, it's just trying to get its shit act together to get back on the TTC case. If you're anything like me, it'll be your brain that's causing the trouble, mine is terrible for winding me up.

when, really sorry about the cps- that doesn't make you a fraud at all as I understand it, absolutely horrible horrible to go through once, let alone 3 times. I hope they're helpful at the appointment.

So I have had some Wine and some [wheres the emoticon for takeaway?] and am hoping for looking forward to a long sleep tonight. Have had bad stomach aches and other digestion cramps this evening (sorry if tmi), am assuming it is hormones adjusting or something.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/11/2012 20:33

Hi thundercats not really a mc from me but 3 chem pregs so GP referred me for recurrent mc. I felt a bit of a fraud coming on this thread but everyone has been so welcoming.

Really sorry you are here.

KittyBump · 16/11/2012 19:41

Hi all,
wasn't somebody poas today? Hope you had good news!
I'm out of hospital Grin had the ERPC at 9am and finally got out just after 5pm, all went well and they reckon they got everything so that's good.
Very jealous of the trips away messtins and lol I could do with a break but whenever i really think about it it seems too much like hard work (don't fancy sharing a hotel room with DD!).
So, now to wait for my BFN...

BraveLilBear · 16/11/2012 16:06

Hello gang, been a busy bear today (no, I'm not the one with the bad eye, but may have been in the past Wink)

Thundercats had an early mc/cp at 5+2 mid October. First time TTC - overjoyed when we caught first time. Distraught when that didn't pan out. Now gripped by AF pains and just waiting for her to show up. There's absolutely no way it could be pre-pregnancy anymore, tis carbon copy of 'normal', even down to nausea. My body is howling with laughter at me, most unfairly. Yet to see AF's ugly face as it were, and I'm worried that while I'm being calm and strangely detached now, I'll be upset later as memories from last month fly back.

Anyway. That was a bit me me me! Sorry Blush

Pink crash - youch! Blimey, it's all going on. Fx you're on the mend now.

Lol awesome on Iceland, crap re plane poo (ahem) and very bad re raid. Hope all are well.

Messtins Amsterdam sounds fab, so glad you had some couple time. Sounds like you have a wise approach - plus the sod's law element is bound to kick in and send you a happy, healthy baby the minute you make other plans!

Happy Friday everyone else - non-pgers enjoy the Wine tonight and pgers enjoy being pg Smile

Thundercatsarego · 16/11/2012 14:10

Hi echo

When did you last do one?

Lolcbcblemonlime · 16/11/2012 13:35

Blimey echo! 49 tests since August??? That's pretty impressive!!!!!

EchoAlone · 16/11/2012 12:54

Yes, it is so important to not put life on hold- that's another reason why I have given myself just two more months- I think I could become too obsessed.

After the MC in August, I bought 50 cheap HPT- planning to test every Friday till the HCG was gone, then keep on, every Friday till BFP, but somehow I have peed too often and now only have one left! So I am holding out to POAS, but the ovulation calender says I should have started AF on Wed., now it's Friday- no AF. Little stabs of pain around right ovary..how long should I wait?

messtins · 16/11/2012 12:42

Hi everyone - have been away to Amsterdam with DH for a couple of days so just trying to catch up. Hello, welcome and sorry you are here to thundercat. Pink hope you are ok after crash, and I wouldn't worry about spotting in a WTF cycle if you feel otherwise well, hormones will be all over the place.
Lol have a fab time!

Had a great few days in Amsterdam though it already feels totally surreal as I'm back at work today. Not great timing wrt TTC but nice to have some couple time nevertheless. Practice makes perfect Blush. We also had time to talk about future plans, so have made some plans for next year that do not include a new baby, if there is one then we'll be delighted to shelve them, but I'm trying not to put life on hold in case it never happens.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 16/11/2012 06:59

Hi pink
I'm not sure re spotting but I suspect it might be ok. From what I gather everyone is different and all sorts of things can happen. I think if af comes early that's a good thing! Are u starting straight away?
Travel this lunch time. Very excited now!!!!

IBelieveInPink · 16/11/2012 01:01

hey Fred buddy! Sorry to see you here xx

So, I've not been on here in ages, as after managing to get through mmc and erpc have also been in car crash. Urgh! All okay and has been the (unwanted) distraction I was looking for, but started thinking about getting back to TTC now.

So, was wondering if I could throw out way tmi for someone to advise please? After erpc, I had bleeding for about 2 weeks. That stopped, and earliest af should be due is next week, but started having spotting again. Does anyone know, is this okay or should I be worried? Thank you, wasn't sure where else to go to ask!!

Finger crossing for all those in or starting 2ww, hopefully will be there in a few weeks too! Also, über jels of lol off to Iceland, lucky thing!

Thundercatsarego · 15/11/2012 23:15

Hi when, I didn't realise or had forgotten you have had mc. Nice to see you again but wish it was better circumstances.

How do you feel about the appointment? Would it be good if they did find something wrong so you could know there was some reason behind it, and hopefully find a solution?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 15/11/2012 22:48

Hi, I've not looked at the thread in ages as we are having a break from ttc till the new year.
Hi to all the newbies, sorry you are here. Hi thundercats really sorry to hear your news.

I have an appointment on 26th Nov re recurrent mc. As I have a dd already the consultant suspects the tests will come back normal and the chem pregs will be unexplained.

Thundercatsarego · 15/11/2012 22:27

Hey lol, yeah I'm not too bad, up and down but have managed to force myself out of the pit by being sociable this evening, and it's definitely helped. Wonders though- Iceland?! How wonderful! Northern lights a go-go? Horrible about raid Sad

Hi almond and horse - surely if you're going to get fat on chocolate you should have the good stuff?

Grin at lol having to poo on the plane.

AlmondFrangipani · 15/11/2012 22:08

Sorry for the shit times Thunder & Kitty. Hope you are bearing up.

Lol Iceland sounds amazing! V jealous!! We had a break from the DTD but back to shag fest! I'm have EWCM today and we DTD yesterday but no Smile on opk which is weird. Hope ur colleagues are ok.

Posy I feel exactly the same!! I really need that BFP! I went to HR last week as I cracked and don't want to feel forced out. Hopefully that helps in the interim.

Anyone doing anything nice over the weekend??
