Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

OP posts:
BettyFlutterbly · 03/12/2012 20:35

Okay so I've just read some of the oler posts and understand the name changes now!! My name hasn't brought me much luck but I'll stick with it for now just in case!

James I have been keeping away from the tests to try and stop me obsessing and don't even have any at home, but after reading your post I am just about to try an opk. I totally understand your logic being 13dpo and desperate for a bfp. I'll be back with results in a bit.

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 20:01

Wow Janie Welcome back - that is such amazing news! So pleased for you Xmas Grin

Thanks for not beating me up Peanut Xmas Smile

I totally understand it... I think I'm living vicariously through them except the vomiting part ie I can't be excited about being pg yet but I can be excited about someone else. I'd like to think I'd still be excited if I wasn't pg, but I have to wonder...

Really pleased bout your scan BLol Xmas Smile sounds like they're taking care of you well now.

janiewoozle · 03/12/2012 19:25

hi girlies, well i'm back! after being diagnosed with a molar pregnancy after my MC in october, i was finding it a bit hard to log in as i wasn't going to be allowed to TTC for a year. i haven't had a chance to read through the posts since i last checked in but am i right in thinking there are a few ladies with good news!!??!!? i hope so :)

well after coming to terms with the fact that i wasn't allowed to TTC for a year at least, i got a phonecall on friday afternoon to say the pathologist made a mistake Xmas Shock in fact i hadn't suffered from a molar pregnancy at all, i don't need to be monitored for a year and there was no risk of needing chemo, and the best bit ........ i can jump on the TTC band wagon once again wooooooohoooooooooo!!!!

so i'm back in the gang girlies!! Xmas GrinXmas GrinXmas Grin

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 18:44

That's brilliant news. Yay! And brilliant that they'll scan again in ten days. Grin

BelissimaLol · 03/12/2012 18:34

I'm ok girls thanks.
Had the scan and saw a sacSmile
They say all normal for 5 weeks and asked me to go back in ten days for another scan.
I know it can still go wrong but I feel I can breathe again. I cried when I saw the black blob on the screen! It's the cutest black blob ever Smile

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 18:16

Blol Two months?! Perfect! Double-meh. How are you though?

BelissimaLol · 03/12/2012 18:13

Oh these news are tough. I wonder if she ever had a mc?
They said on tv she is only 2 months so very early days too.
I can understand the feelings. Hugs to you all x

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 18:10

Oh fucking hell. An email has just popped into my inbox from Grazia: Kate Middleton pregnant and our top 10 royal baby names.

I used to like Grazia...Angry

I'm going to have to deal with this aren't I?!

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 18:09

Oh, I'm happy for them, and I feel very sorry for her suffering so acutely. Happy, but insanely jealous Angry

I'll get over it. I think i'll be listening to music on the way home from work though rather than the radio Wink

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 17:59

^^^ What blundercats said!

blundercatsHO · 03/12/2012 17:42

If I were still pg I'd be happy for them etc. because I'm not I'm MEH.

I am that fickle.

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 17:36

Aw bear, as if we'd beat a pregnant woman!

I actually think they're a sweet couple, always have. I just saw the headline and my stomach plummeted before I'd even finished reading it. Maybe it's because they married a few months before us, I'm the same age as them, and I remember thinking when I found out I was pg last time that I'd beaten them to it (pregnancy rumours were circulating back then too!) so maybe it's a bit of a subconscious measure of failure for me. Hopefully I'll be able to bite back the bile enough to enjoy the inevitable bank holiday though Grin

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 17:24

hangs head in shame at ridiculous level of shameful excitement about the Cambridges

Totally understand that feeling. I keep thinking/worrying how I'd react if my recently married (younger) sister announces that she's pg too - especially if she's further along.

I don't know why I'm excited. Not a royalist at all. Just think they're a nice couple with a lot going for them. I actually think I'm outwardly excited for them because they're 'out' of the closet...

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 17:23

Hey munchin! Oh good, glad it's not just me. It does feel a bit like a personal affront, doesn't it? Not sure why! Besides which, Diana was on my baby names list last time. No chance of using that now if they have a girl...!

anda I was due 1st March, if I'm not pregnant again by then I think there will be some kind of major, MAJOR breakdown. I'd originally had Christmas in mind as a time I'd definitely be back in the game, to give me something to look forward to - that was a mistake but seemed so unbearably far away back in August!

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 17:08

BombasticP nope. My first thought was that if she's due at the beginning of July that might just push me over the edge if I'm not pregnant by the time she's showing. Sad #badperson

MunchinMango · 03/12/2012 17:06

Hi peanut, no it's not. I just heard it 5 mins ago on radio and while I'm delighted for them I felt it was like two fingers to me.

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 16:29

Is it really wrong of me that finding out that Wills and Kate are expecting has made me go 'MEH'? I'm a bad person. Bad, bad, bad.

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 16:25

James I got my BFP last time on an opk (wasn't expecting it!). Problem with opks is the lines are subjective, as kittens says there is often a test line visible, (I can always see one) but it has to be darker than the control line to count as a positive - you can't really get a faint positive on an opk like you would on a hpt. Have a squizz at this (googled it last time haha www.peeonastick.com/opkhpt.html ) That said, I hate to rain on your parade so fingers crossed - you never know! Chuckling at your '..or it could all be bollocks' haha, I'm going to use that in the conclusion of my next essay Grin

Betty hello stranger! Yes, same old Peanut, still here Sad. Yes, we've been here WAAY too long, this is me heading into month #5 post-mc which is rubbish. FX for you, when will you poas? I'm 5dpo so have got ages to wait.

Well ladies, tragically I didn't manage to conjure up cold-sensitive nipples on my walk today. Mind you, I was wearing a padded bra, a vest top, a jumper, a fleece and a windproof coat so was actually boiling, poor ol' boobies had no chance! Next time: string vest and nowt else (lucky farmers..)

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 16:13

Welcome back Betty Smile There was a spate of namechanging not long back after a string of 'B' names (mine included) suddenly got BFPs hence BombasticPeanut and Blundercats and BelissimaLol* and a few others!

I'd say early ov means early AF/BFP I reckon as Luteal phases don't tend to change that much.

Oooo James I have no idea what any of that means, but I like the scientific experiment element of discovery! Fx that when you swap to hpt the lines keep coming...

kittenskittenskittens · 03/12/2012 15:44

Trying to make sence of that...... Hmm
Hcg doesn't just build up at night it is continuous but you are advised to use fmu early on as it can take a while to show in urine so you get the most concentration over night, not sure how lh is picked up using them in my case was accidental first time then as an experiment til I could go the shop next time, not sure it is really saying anything at this point but you can always do your own experiments, think a good hpt would show up before opt though

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/12/2012 15:32

Welcome back Betty, 13dpo, when are you planning to test? Smile

Kitten thanks for the info on opk's, sounds like it shouldn't be trusted then! Just as an experiment, I did another this afternoon (Addict!!!) because the Lh is supposed to build through the day and hcg builds through the night yeah? So I thought if it has picked up just Lh the line will be stronger by 3pm, and if it's picked up hcg it will either be fainter than the one using fmu or the same. There was no line on the afternoon test. So that could suggest it picked up a teeny tiny bit of hcg this morning, or it could all be bollocks Grin Time will tell!

Hope you're ok blol x

BettyFlutterbly · 03/12/2012 14:18

Hi ladies,

I haven't been here for absolutely ages and now I feel like I'm a newby again!!
I haven't read through all your posts yet but might sit and have a browse if dd naps for a little bit longer.

I got af last month before I even had the chance to poas so didn't even bother to come on here and moan!! I am now on cycle 3 after mc in Sept and am 13dpo.
I usually ov around day 18 but ov'd on cd15 this month so don't know if I'll still be due on on the cd31 as usual or before that.

I'm not really having any symptoms except for that little scratchy feeling inside which I am convincing myself is implantation. I've had it before though and then af came.

How are you all doing? Peanut, have you changed your name or are you another Peanut?
I feel like we've all been on here for far too long now. I'll be more than happy not to drink over xmas and be moaning about morning sickness!!

Come on BFPs!!!!!!

kittenskittenskittens · 03/12/2012 14:13

James I have used an opk a few times while pregnant, first time I thought implantation was af so had started using them again cd13 , very positive and second time because I had one and not a hpt and again pos but it can't just be a line it has to be a positive ( stronger then control line) just don't want you to get hopes up too much as I get a line everytime I use them, also they are not as sensitive as tests though as I used one last time at the beginning when I'd had a + frer and cb and it was neg scared the shit out of me! So I'd advise hpt really
Good luck to lol, hope it puts you mind at rest that it's in the correct place etc, I think at 5 wks you will be too early for a heart beat x

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/12/2012 13:44

Blol, very best of luck to you, I hope everything goes smoothly at the scan, I'll be checking in later to see how you got on. x

No other real symptoms, I feel pretty normal really. I poas this morning (9dpo) but it was an opk not a hpt as I probably shouldn't waste the hpt's before 12dpo. Anyway I used an opk because I have lots of them, and I read that they can pick up hcg a little earlier than hpt's can, although the result is only an indicator, not to be trusted as obviously any line on an opk's can also just be from the presence of LH in the urine (from ovulation). More info here although I'm sure I'm teaching you to suck eggs. Xmas Wink

Anyway, after all that waffle, there's a line. A faint one. I don't know if it means anything, I'm just going to keep doing opk's for the next few days and then swap to hpt's from 12dpo, and hope it'll be for real. I'm not "excited" because I know it may not mean anything. And last time I was pregnant I had this full sensation around the womb area, and I was bloated, full of wind, heartburn etc and I haven't had any of that yet so I don't know what to think. Speculating is fun though! Good luck peanut! Xmas Smile

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 12:52

Yay for the fruity dreams Bombastic - I agree with anda def a 30-pointer!

And let the innovative opportune symptom spotting commence! Grin

Fx for your scan BLol.... keep us posted if you can wrestle a hand free long enough to type

Btw to answer the question above re pregnancy apps, I'm using I'm Expecting, which is free and I like it so far. They did weird things to my dates, so manually adjusted the LMP to get it so that it would tally with my dates.
