my hub is brilliant. he started taking zinc but as the months have gone on, he's added wellman conception, insitol (good for cell production), vitamin C and pine bark extract (supposed to be good for morphology).

been a bit of nightmare trying to get him to cut down on the booze but it seems to be sinking in!

Rache1S · 30/10/2012 17:13

Our little doggy is doing well Hazle, although I wish he would wake us up in the night instead of leaving us a present to find next morning Confused We have employed some modern technology in the form of a dog-cam with a motion sensor linked to our phones so an alarm will wake us up when he gets out of bed in the night. Night number one tonight so we'll see how it goes.

Still symptomless at 5+5 apart from the very slightly sore nipples and lack of AF, which is pretty much the only reassurance I have that there's actually something going on Hmm

I have already spilled the beans to my nearest and dearest and a couple of people I'm close to at work. I figure these are the people I will turn to for support if the worst happens so it's nice being able to talk openly to them now. Also I am a terrible liar who wouldn't last 2 minutes trying to hide it!

janey1234 · 30/10/2012 16:13

Yeah but if they can't give you some anaesthetics I'd rather pay... Hey ho....

Pipbin · 30/10/2012 15:06

Because you get dental treatment for free when you are pg Janey.

janey1234 · 30/10/2012 14:44

Ah crap, why am I so useless. WHY didn't I do this before when I could have had loads of injections and maybe some lovely valium too...

HazleNutt · 30/10/2012 14:36

No it's not that bad, my dentist just suggested we try without first, but promised to give me a shot if it's too painful, so I'm sure you'll get what you need.

janey1234 · 30/10/2012 14:20

hazle - did I read that correctly? No anaesthetic if you're pg?! Oh no, I felt a hole aaaages ago in my wisdom tooth and have been meaning to go to the dentist (but have a bit of a phobia so have been putting it off a bit). Finally got round to booking an appointment, am almost certain I will need a filling. Please please please tell me you were joking or mistaken?!

Quodlibet · 30/10/2012 13:48

Zombie - 15dpo now and still no symptoms! Boobs are sore but not unusually so.

Hazle - I feel quite 'so far so good' myself. DP and I are being very cautious about our excitement levels as we are both quite pragmatic about the statistics of MC at the early stages. We don't get scanned here til 12 weeks - so not for AAAAAGES. 2 months. Am trying very hard to be Zen and just take it in my stride, like I'm waiting for something in the post or something.

Pipbin · 30/10/2012 13:42

I run 3 miles, 3 days a week. However I am still technically 2 stone overweight with a BMI of 30. Whenever I say to people that I run they look me up and down and snigger.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/10/2012 13:36

questions questions questions

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/10/2012 13:35

quod that's heartening. Did you not have any symptoms then? When is the first time you did have a symptom? And how many dpo did you check?

janey1234 · 30/10/2012 13:35

And you're right hazle - until I see the 12week scan and all is OK I won't allow myself to get excited. Last time I was still cautious but relaxed when I saw the heartbeat at a private scan at 9-10 weeks. But now 12 weeks will be the time the excitement is allowed to begin I think...

janey1234 · 30/10/2012 13:32

Haha quod re Red Alert Sexy Time - think the caps are fitting!
And yes, it feels totally weird. DP found me checking two of the tests in bed last night - because it doesn't feel real at all.... He says the same, won't believe it until he sees a scan!

hazle that's hilarious - clearly you can't be fit unless you're a size 8. I was the same last time - I think my boobs deceived him - he suggested I 'start' some exercise - at the time I was cycling 13 miles each way per day to work! You should have told him you were planning to just sit on the sofa and eat cheese for the next seven months.
Impressed you teach zumba. I tried it once, and my friend was actually crying with laughter next to me, I got everything completely wrong and out of time. She said I was just a mess of limbs (I'm 5 11 and all my height is in my legs...). I think it was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life...

HazleNutt · 30/10/2012 13:09

Quod bit differnt for me (and Janey) as I was certainly more excited when I got pregnant the first time. After the mc, you don't allow yourself to, not the same way. It's more "Well, so far, so good.."

When do you have your first scan? Will feel more real then.

HazleNutt · 30/10/2012 13:07

Ah yes, the one size fits everybody advice.
I do a lot of sports, but am not exactly skinny. So doc of course assumed that he should lecture me about the benefits of exercise during pregnancy - you know, do some gentle walking, swimming..

I said that I actually teach aerobics classes - you know, bodypump, combat, zumba..ok to just continue that as I don't like swimming?

Quodlibet · 30/10/2012 13:05

I bought mine zinc tabs but he never took them. In fact other than obliging at Red Alert Sexy Time mine didn't really make many concessions for TTC!!

Rachel I don't have any real symptoms either. Zombie - take note, there might not be any symptoms in the 2WW or indeed after! I did have a much more definite line on my internet cheeeepy this morning though so things are moving along apparently.

Janey/Rachel/Hazle/Purple are any of you feeling a bit strange that even though something MASSIVE has happened, everything feels exactly the same?!? I think I could easily be persuaded at the moment that I dreamt the pee sticks.

Pipbin · 30/10/2012 12:27

Oily fish seem to be good for most things.
I'm sure that all they teach doctors now is to say, 'eat plenty of fruit and veg, get plenty of exercise, don't drink, smoke or get stressed'. That seems to be the standard cure all.
"Broken leg Mrs Smith? Eat more fruit and run about it bit."
The irony of it all is that doctor and nurses are the worst people for eating crap, smoking and being stressed.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 30/10/2012 11:08

I've been making mine have zinc supplements, which I have to give him or he forgets. It says "skin, hair, nails" so started off ostensibly on that note Smile

For the past couple of months, I've gone off the booze to a large extent - just a drink or two with friends once in a while- and cut down to about 10% of my normal caffeine intake. Have also upped oily fish intake FWIW (does that make any difference?)

Pipbin · 30/10/2012 11:07

Well I'm on day one of my final cycle before my BFP. Positive mental attitude and all that. I WILL get my BFP at the end of this one.
Off to the clinic for the official results of my HSG and clomid tomorrow.
