janey1234 · 31/10/2012 17:42

Me too rache and zombies. Do you think we want it sooo much we've tricked out hormones?
Remember what I said about us elderberry pavlovas suffering less with morning sickness than our young comrades...

Rache1S · 31/10/2012 17:39

Zombies I also have the same non-symptoms as you Hmm I am starting to think mine is phantom.

Rache1S · 31/10/2012 17:36

Zombies the Ovary is near the Fallopian Tube but not connected to it. The ripe Egg pops out of the Follicle and has to be collected and guided into the tube by the Sea Anemones, er, I mean Fimbraie on the end of the Fallopian Tube. The Peritoneal Cavity is just the bits in between the organs. I think that I have probably done a little too much research into TTC!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 17:33

On this front- no symptoms- no twinges, pains, pulling, extra peeing, headaches, smell sensitivity, nausea, spotting or any signs of life (!) whatsoever from down there. Just a little CM from time to time.
Angry

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 17:28

I think the name conceive plus is what puts men off. I had no trouble when I started off calling it "the lube I got".
It was when I applied too much and things got a bit umm too slippery is when DH started objecting...Confused

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 17:28

haha! thanks for the tip Pip! It's all about the self-esteem isn't it?!
Wink

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 17:26

Don't tell your DH about it.
I just apply it when having my pre bed wee and wash!

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 17:19

Thanks Zombies
I went and found an interesting blog post by a fertility doctor (sorry, have now lost it again) where he says morphology is basically a bit pointless as, the more they investigate sperm shape, the more it seems like there's no such thing as 'normal' sperm, and under current directives, it's impossible for any guy to score more than about 5%!
I think I might attempt to talk DH into trying the conceive plus and see if that helps. All my tests have come back normal so far.

Thanks for the video!

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 17:09

zombies - Grin hilarious re your twenties eye.
I might start trying to use the work insidious on a daily basis, it's fab. Which reminds me of when my best mate and I used to set each other challenges during our A-levels to make them more interesting (Shock) - my favourite was when she challenged me to include the phrase 'in the olden days' in my history exam. I completed it, of course yes, still proud and went on to study history at a top ten uni

rache - feel ashamed of myself. Peritoneal cavity? Fimbraie? This is all news to me.

yep, clearly didn't do A-level biology

Rache1S · 31/10/2012 17:02

Zombies that video is fascinating, although because it is home made I assume the bloke who made it was the donor?! Shock
It's amazing that those random little mad swimmers manage to find the egg in our complex plumbing system.
I also find it amazing how the egg is swept up by the fimbraie (which seem to look like sea anemone's) into the fallopian tube rather than just floating off into the peritoneal cavity. When you look at it in such detail it's so complex and there is so much that could go wrong. It's a miracle that anybody gets up the duff ever!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 16:42

...of course, to my twenties eye, they would have looked insidious, wriggly little disasters each one!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 16:41

janey I think they're cute too Grin

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 16:41

I've been using concieve plus, but I shall do so every time this month.

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 16:34

quod - we used conceive plus, and as you know, only did it twice (on consecutive days) in fertile time. Hmmmm maybe it wasn't a waste of £15...

zombies - is it wrong I think they look quite cute?!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 15:54

Aw bless apparently they travel in a straight line!
wonders if this TTC thing has finally sent her potty

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 15:52

Sorry,

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 15:52

not sure if.
Also, how interesting is this?!?

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 31/10/2012 15:50

captain it's how structurally sound they are. I think motility is one of the key things. Not sure I percentage of healthy sperm contributes to morphology analysis but I presume it would be.

Quodlibet · 31/10/2012 15:31

Pipbin no I didn't have any spotting this month at all. I do have the occasional month where I don't spot in advance of AF but always start with a day or two of brown before full red flow. This month not the slightest tinge (fingers xed).

I dunno if I said this on this thread, but I think our BFP this month may well have been due to the Conceive Plus. It's the first time we've used it, and we only managed to dtd twice in the fertile zone (the second time with conceive plus).

Pipbin · 31/10/2012 15:26

Thing is that DH had such a good SA result that the doctor showed it to someone else!
There is no problem with quantity or quality.
I only want to do every other day though. I'll talk him round.

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 15:24

interesting, thanks ladies. Oh, whilst we're on the subject, what's morphology all about? Is it how many there are?

HazleNutt · 31/10/2012 15:21

captain there is research that while DTD every day lowers the number of swimmers quite a bit, (but there will be still plenty), it improves the quality.

janey1234 · 31/10/2012 15:21

Hi captain and welcome back!
Re DTD every other day, or every day, I think it's in dispute. I think people used think that you might have fewer quality sperm if you do it every day, but others think that they're better, fitter sperm who have more chance of reaching the egg. Who knows.
this is what fertility friend has to say about it
FWIW I did it every day for three days leading up to what I think was ov time.
I think the best approach is to do it as much as you both can cope with (within reason)!

captainmoll · 31/10/2012 15:16

Hi all, sorry I keep popping in and out - keep trying to distract myself with DIY while waiting for AF to turn up. Lazy cow is keeping me on tenterhooks this month..
Hello Brave!
Pip - just read back a bit and noticed your post about DTD every day. My doc warned me off this approach. She said every day means your partner has no time to generate fresh swimmers, so it just depletes his supply. Every other day is perfect - time to make healthy sperm and regular enough to catch the ovum while it's warm.
Still haven't managed to get my DH to make a doctors appointment, so no idea what his swimmers are up to yet.. When AF arrives I will cry at him until he books himself in. [hgrin]

Here's my update to the list:
