Winkle Well, I was doing a trial for Clearblue and they sent me a CBFM to trial for 3 months.
So I had their monitor and my own. Each morning I would do a test stick and use it in theirs and then mine. On day 15 last month I had a peak on the monitor that they sent me, and there were two clear lines on the stick, but my monitor just said high. It carried on saying high right up until AF came, long after the other one I had had said low and stopped asking for sticks.
From what I understand the CBFM will default to high if it doesn't get a peak, theory being that its better for you to DTD than not I guess.

Rache1S · 04/11/2012 14:36

Good afternoon guys, no spotting for me (so far) today Smile

Captain I think progesterone makes everyone's temperatures stay up after OV whether PG or not, but if not PG temp will drop a day or two before AF and if you get a BFP then your temp will stay up (or go into orbit like mine and Quod's did!)
If you're not signed up to Fertility Friend already they will give you a VIP membership for free (basic membership is always free,) in the first month where there are tools to compare your readings against others and FF will give you a % prediction on whether they think you are PG or not based on others' charts. I only used it for 1 month though and FF gave me a 30% chance of a BFP a few days before I got my BFP so it's definitely not foolproof but it's something else to pass the time with while on the agonising 2WW!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 04/11/2012 13:22

And AIBU on MN Smile

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 04/11/2012 13:21

Thanks janey for the list!
aquarius- retail therapy Smile
To be fair, needed to stock up on winter clothes. Planning my next holiday.

Aquarius1 · 04/11/2012 13:16

Morning all.... Talking of things to keep us busy and stop us from going mad during our 2ww's / generally, I've resorted to knitting, randomly cleaning/reorganising rooms in the house, and planning Christmas already .... Oh and catching up with other people's news on MN is pretty good.... Anyone else have any distraction tactics?

janey1234 · 04/11/2012 11:39

Quod me too - keep going to the loo with the absolute fear!! Reassuring to know it's not just me. Twice I've felt a bit sick - but have a cold so not sure if it's part of the bug or not. Still managed to stuff loads of food down though!

Rache - hope spotting has stopped, just so you can relax again! I know we all know it's massively common but doesn't stop you worrying I guess!

Quodlibet · 04/11/2012 10:48

Hello everyone!
I can testify to the temperature staying up thing - mine has shot up to never-seen-before levels in the last few days (17-20 dpo). I also got my first bit of nausea last night - quite mild, felt a bit like sea sickness whilst on the train, plus my sense of smell was suddenly much stronger than normal. It's gone again this morning though. The other thing that is a bit disconcerting is I have got increased CM - I keep getting a bit of a shock because I am feeling 'damp' and worrying it is bleeding, only to find it is CM...

Rach how are you doing today? Hope the spotting has eased off.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 04/11/2012 10:44

I agree that these things are good for keeping us busy!
I just used my first cb ov stick this morning and really liked it. I paid 24 quid on amazon for 20 sticks which I think will last me two months. I also have the cheap ones and quite like them too but there is a lot of guessing on whether there is a line or not and I personally think we have enough if that with hpt!!!

winkle2 · 04/11/2012 10:43

I have the CBFM like pip. But I have used OV sticks before and I like the digis.

Pip - I'm on cd17 and still no peak, just highs from cd9. Has this ever happened to you? Have been using it for about 4-5 months and have always had a peak.

HazleNutt · 04/11/2012 10:43

Rach how are you today? While bleeding in early pregnancy is totally normal, it's also only natural to be worried. Fx for you.

Tired here, wanted to take a short nap yesterday afternoon, woke up 8PM. Slightly nauseous and burping all the time, very elegant I'm sure.

captainmoll · 04/11/2012 10:25

I just got some OV dipsticks off amazon for a fiver, and then a lovely friend who knows I'm ttc (and had a beautiful healthy daughter this spring, post stillbirth last year) sent me a book and chart thing from the natural family planning group. It's great - really useful info plus a whole book of colour coded charts to record EVERYTHING! Mucus, temp, body signs.. Anyone else come across this? Also found out that if you conceive, your temp stays up post OV, so that's one more thing to obsess over during the 2WW Hmm

Hope all you pg ladies are doing well - sending healthy baby vibes your way..

Pipbin · 04/11/2012 10:00

Bunny I have the ones you dip, and a clear blue fertility monitor. I like the fertility monitor because its easy to use because you use your first wee of the day and because it keep track of the days. DH likes it because its technology, he calls it the baby gameboy.
However I also like the dipstick type sticks because I can see the progression and use my own judgement.
I find I really like having them and it puts my mind at ease to know that we have DTD at the right time. You can buy CBFM on eBay for about £30 and the sticks are £18 a box on amazon.

In all honesty though I do feel that all these things are just ways of keeping women like me occupied and make us think we are doing something to help. I still use them though.

Bunnygirlie · 04/11/2012 09:42

Nausea again this morning :-( rather unfair I think as weird AF just gone, assume its my horrid IBS!

I bought some ov sticks of eBay, the ones you dip. Has anybody used them and the clear blue ones that everybody seems to be talking about?!? Don't know where to upgrade?

Lolcbcblemonlime · 04/11/2012 09:04

Hi girls. Been quiet as nothing to report. Used my first cb ov stick and found it quite fancy! Obviously no peak but was not expecting it. Cd11. Hope DH comes out of this man flu.

winkle2 · 03/11/2012 23:59

fx Rache I'm sure its nothing to worry about.

Weird Bunny cause I've felt nauseous today. If I hadnt had AF a couple of weeks ago I really would have thought I was pregnant.

CD16 here - hoping the monitor peaks for me tomorrow.

Rache1S · 03/11/2012 19:45

I am 6+2 today Quod, although my belly looks about 6 months gone after all the cake Smile

Quodlibet · 03/11/2012 19:03

Oooooh carrot cake - Janey I am jealous! Rach I am glad you are not in a panic, I am sure the nausea is a good sign that everything is progressing. How many weeks are you now? I can't remember how far ahead of me you are.

Rache1S · 03/11/2012 18:32

Thanks guys.
It is quite light at the moment so I am really not too concerned. To be honest I haven't got time to worry in amongst all this cake I'm eating Smile If it gets heavier and/or pains start is the time to worry. The scan can't come quick enough though!

Bunnygirlie · 03/11/2012 17:17

I woke up feeling sick, maybe it's sympathy nausea:-s

I have no cake but will be stuffing myself with Chinese tonight after the fireworks!

Hope all ok Rach.

OP posts:
janey1234 · 03/11/2012 17:02

And I shall eat cake too, as a show of support. Namely a quarter of a massive waitrose carrot cake.

The nausea HAS to be a good sign, I'm sure of it. Absolutely everything crossed for you.

Pipbin · 03/11/2012 16:44

One thing I read on here is a mantra to say to yourself:
Today I am pregnant.

I'll be thinking of you Rache. Please keep us updated.

Rache1S · 03/11/2012 15:38

More spotting for me today.... combined with what I can only guess is PG related nausea! I wait 17 days for a reassuring symptom to appear and it appears at the same chuffin' time as a possible MC symptom! Confused Pregnancy giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other! I am keeping positive though, I haven't got any pain and it's not like anybody can actually do anything to prevent it even if it is so there is no point stressing. Instead I will eat cake. Lots of cake.

Bunnygirlie · 02/11/2012 23:46

I haven't been able to concentrate on work this week, gawd knows what it's like whilst on the 12 week wait :-s
Have a good weekend ladies Smile

OP posts:
Pipbin · 02/11/2012 23:26

Sorry to hear about the pg panicking going on here ladies.
I'm sure the constant distraction must be dreadful, and doctor Google is a blessing and a curse.
I'm sure you'll all be fine ladies.
Let us all know what happens.

HazleNutt · 02/11/2012 20:52

Rach I understand the panic, but really it's very common and normal.

Bunny I have this nagging doubt that the worrying won't stop with giving birth either. It will probably get only worse and we'll keep worrying about them for the next ..well, I wanted to say 18 years, but my parents still worry about me. So apparently forever.
