Yay it's smiley day :-) Nicola you deffinately have things covered ;-) but knowing you two (not in RL) you will no doubt act like teenagers at the concert like Lol suggests hah hah!!

Lol I didn't DTD that month before my smiley. My GP told me to test the theory she had been told by the fertility clinic to only DTD on the day of the smiley and 5 days after in case your partner has weak sperm. She wondered whether we were exhausting our chances by doing it so much before the smiley. I'm not sure if her theory was correct because I do kind of feel it might have been the first time my body ovulated since coming off the pill. We will never know but her theory could be true. It's 50/50. Anyway, we will deffinately be finding out the sex in Jan!!

Well that's interesting pear, don't remember it from zita but I don't remember it all. You'll find out soon enough though. We can test the theory!

Pear you must be beyond excited to have seen a heart beat! You had a tougher start than many and deserve a bit of peace now.
I think u r right regarding boys and girls sperm however even if u shagged on day of smiley and conceived, you could have had some girl swimmers left from a previous shag that got that faster. So my understanding is that it could still be either. Are you going to find out on scan?

Dulcet have you not heard that? I thought it was in the Zita book too. Apparently if you DTD the days leading up to OV you have a higher chance of having a girl because girls swimmers pace themselves while boy swimmers swim faster and exhaust themselves so they're not so likely to have the energy to hang about and wait for the egg. Typical men, rushing and not getting the job done :-)

Woody I'm using IPeriod and my days. Also lady timer. I've downloaded a new one today. They all seem to disagree when I should ov. The fact that cycle is longer after mc is not helping.
I'm going with cheap opk one more month and then move on to cb if no result.
My biggest challenge is sex on demand from DH. He is not a fan of pressure.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Been to see a homeopath and acupuncturist in last few days. Feel really positive about seeing them. Now have remedies to take and am going to be having weekly acupuncture.

I got a +ve on tesco ov stick today but I'm only CD8 - does that seem too early?

letskiwithisthing glad FF and CB OPKs are agreeing! I've just order some CB OPKs today - think they might be easier to read than the tesco ones! Hope the baby shower is ok.

Thanks ladies, you talk some sense!! I have had a think and must admit I'm feeling much more positive now, we did after all DTD on both of the days that I had the smiley (Sat and Sun) so hopefully some swimmers were stored up for the day after - assuming I did ov on the Monday! Just wishing this time away now to find out! May need to test on 8th now rather than the 4th - will see how it goes next week!

Plan to stick with the temps for the time being but going to use the cb opk next month again if no BFP as really liked seeing the smiley! Lots of you are approaching ov time - I find that time the best in the cycle :) I have a baby shower to go to tonight so lots of baby talk, and no doubt questions of when will it be our turn! Ugh wish me luck ;)

I'd heard the alternate sides thing too pear. Not that bit about the quickness of the journey resulting in boy or girl, that's new to me!

Still freaks me out when you say you felt a pop! So amazing that you're that in tune with your body...quite astonishing!

Oh OK Nicola, so that means that my OV pain was always on the right when yours was on the left...which would mean I didn't alternate...so there is your answer!

I checked and still have 20 of the cheap ones which means I used 10 last month. So I'm tempted to use them one more month and then move on to cb if not pg. all these apps are doing my head in also as they each day ill ov on a different day. But the general average is from next sun to sun after (!!) so ill get opk out as of fri and see. Was just reading on a new app I downloaded that it takes an average of 104 shags to conceive! So nic your doing well.
Also says 1 in 10 women in uk confess about getting DH to come home from work for a shag due to ov sticks lol!

I love them but then I guess I am bias?! The midwife sonographer yesterday dated me 6+3 so the textbook says I conceived on August 28th. Guess what happened on 28th?! Got the smiley! Do you think the books are true when they say fast swimmers are boys and slow swimmers are girls? If everyone used cb sticks and DTD on smiley day surely if that theory was right the world would be taken over by men?

Nicola I don't think it has to alternate. Are you sure you always feel it on your left? I thought we were opposite and you felt it on your right and I felt it on my left? Hmm perhaps I've forgotten. I've just been looking at my notes and it does say I released an egg from my right which is the ovary that has the small cyst.

I like them too. Don't go through 20 a month generally. Then again, not helped me get pg so far. Not sure of the purpose of fertility friend if it changes when you ov'd retrospectively. No help knowing after the fact, is it??

Yeah, still testing. Nothing since CD9. On CD17 now so may go until 20 and then give up.

Thinking of buying cb ov sticks. It's just over 20 quid for 20. Is it worth it? How many do u go through in a month?
