God Sweetie that sounds like an awful lot to process. I'm really sorry it's not better news. I understand that it's something you and DH will have to think long and hard about before you make a decision on what to do next.
I've been looking into egg donation a lot lately (admittedly from the other side), it's such a complex subject. I understand what you are saying about passing your genes on and the baby having your traits.

I will be thinking of you and brooking for a miracle. And don't you dare apologise for a me, me, me post (it wasnt btw!)

Lots of (((hugs)))

TrickorTreatSweetie · 17/10/2012 20:23

Aw Cupcake so sorry AF put in an appearance, especially when everything was looking so promising. Look after yourself and get snuggled down with your hot water bottle.

I managed to speak to nurse today, she was from the alternative clinic we would go to if we do IVF again. Anyway she was lovely much nicer than those where we are at the moment, but then I am a walking pound sign to her and talked me through my AMH result in conjunction with low follicle count. She said that result is probably correct Sad and we have as much chance getting preggers naturally than with my own eggs through IVF. She did say at their clinic they have never had successful outcome for a lady with AMH under 5, some have got preggers but mc. Very bleak news I am afraid. I know from other forums that ladies with low AMH scores do go on the get preggers but these are obviously the miracle cases.

So that has left us with a huge amount to discuss. We have applied for all our notes, test results & treatment plans from our current clinic, but this take about 8 weeks and cost £50 so it is very unlikely we will be doing anything else this year. The alternative clinic will see us for a consultation once we have all our notes. But I think our options are really egg donation or adoption. We have to decide how much we want our baby against a baby. A big part of having a baby for me is the mini me factor, I do appreciate it could be nothing like me when it comes along but I would be looking for traits even if not looks.

So that is all for now, sorry for the very me me me post.

Shrieklette · 17/10/2012 20:22

huge hugs to you cups not quite sure how AF escaped my hogtie, she must have an impersonator loitering with me. I will nab her better next time. Be kind to yourself xx

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 17/10/2012 17:33

Oh Cups I am sorry she got you.

GenericDietCola · 17/10/2012 17:07

Aw Cups - have a hug and a kick to the knackers for AF.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 17/10/2012 16:49

Sorry everyone. I was two days late. I did PIAR this morning only for AF to turn up. At least I didn't have the trauma of a BFN. I've been at work & only just seen this so sorry for keeping you all in suspense.

Am feeling a bit fed up, I'm sat on the sofa with a hot water bottle & tv.

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 15:36
PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 17/10/2012 15:20

Biscuits we are all sat waiting for Cups to update, she mentioned this was a 'long cycle'

Hiya everyone else, I lost track of time earlier and got a parking ticket, what did you all do today?

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2012 15:14

Just nipping in to say hello and see how you all are?

Solars I'm thinking of you. Well I mean I'm brooking for all of you, but I've sprinkled a little extra brooking on for you my lovely xx

Did I see earlier that someone is due AF, or past due AF and about to test?

Solars · 17/10/2012 14:49

Thanks Munx hope you and new little munx are doing well!

Sparkes I'd rather be giving MrSolars pant check updates than pessary updates, testing date is the 26th, eek!

Keep I've been on clomid before but can't help with your queries as I was never monitored on it, just given it even though I ovulated normally. I didn't have any side effects either. I did use pre-seed just in case, as I think it's supposed to dry up your cm but I don't recall that happening. Do you get monitored whilst you're on it? Well done on DH's flight being delayed!

I'll leave you with something my DH said to me this morning which made me smile, remember stressed spelt backwards is desserts

SecretSparkle · 17/10/2012 09:26

Munx you're right, I just had a look on their website and the last one is 3+ weeks. I shall do it Sunday when I'll be 5+1

ReturnOfTheMunx · 17/10/2012 09:00

Congrats again sparks and brooking so very hard for solars too

And all Brookers generally, good luck with test results and appointments.

CBD only go 1-2 then 2-3 then 3+ if I remember correctly.

(Not that I did one a week to watch the numbers go up, oh no not me Blush )

SecretSparkle · 17/10/2012 08:21

Morning ladies, sorry I didnt get chance to post much yesterday, stupid work, do they not know MN is more important?!

Shriek Flipping AF!!! I hope she has well and truly learnt her lesson!!!

Solars Mrsparkes is getting daily pant check updates from me too, although I think your persary update wins Smile whens your actual, official test date?

Cups I was relaxed about TTC but not generally relaxed overall, I think Im a tick in the 'differed waiting for refferal' box!! but er.... if your still waiting for AF?!!?! Er...... TEST!!!!!

Sweetie Its so frustrating that they wouldnt speak to you. The consultant sounds like some imaginary force, like the wizard of oz!! hopefully they'll be able to guide you a bit better at your actual appointment.

Thanks for everyone asking about me! Erm I'm pretty sure the mentalling never stops, although I am trying to take it easy and relax as much as possible. I was so relaxed shattered yesterday evening that I fell asleep while sitting up (knitting in hand). Theres a few symptoms I guess, although again Im pretty sure its me being bonkers, the tiredness thing is the main one at the moment, so last night I had a nap on the sofa then was in bed by 9 and asleep dead to the world by 10, which in unheard of for my because I normally suffer from chronic insomnia!! I've had a call of the midwife too, which was really bizarre because I thought she'd rung the wrong number!!!

No sank in at all yet, I wonder if it ever does? I'm going to use my last CBD test at the weekend, when hopefully it'll have moved on to the next bracket (I think the next one is 3-4 weeks, but I could be wrong)

crumpets (but not fresh ones) for everyone, and big waves to every single brooker Smile

keepitgoing · 17/10/2012 05:49

geek yes, i know there are multiple ways to classify sperm. I wonder if they are on the less strict one here? One of them noticed that it was Kruger, the others didn't mention though. It's possible! Hope you're ok, IVF still a way off for you. Any news on your letter - I think you should chase chase chase, they really are being crappy. Sorry that work is too busy for you to come and chat more. Stupid bosses.

sparks how are you feeling? Have you done any more tests? Is it sinking in? Will you tell anyone soon?

cup i feel your pain on the three years. I take it you're unexplained, then? Mixed blessing, as we've said before... That is the reason why we are packing things in before next summer. I am on a mission, as otherwise when we get home we would have to wait until 2014 (faints) for IVF on the NHS. I don't know what to suggest - if private is not an option. Could you try IUI? Egg donation sounds like a good plan - this whole infertility thing and lurking around here makes me think I would do it to help someone else's pain as well. But of course we are brooking that AF is late for a good reason! Let her be 9 months late!!

sweetie i guess you just wait a few weeks - is there much point in paying to see a consultant privately if it is mega stressing you out, it can't be that much for one appointment can it . I know our (self imposed) schedule is full on. One doctor said we should alternate IUI and not, but when quizzed said it was only for mental health reasons not anything to do with the body. So because of the reasons above I think we will do them back to back mostly. Having said that, if it is stressing me out then we can always change it, and you guys can remind me to keep sane. I think if i do not have too high expectations of IUI then it can't be too bad if it fails, can it...? After all, 15% a month is still less than a 'normal' couple have. It's up to us, though, so we can do what feels right once we start.

Has anyone here been on clomid? Did it thin your lining, any other side effects?

maybe hope you're ok - not long till your appointment now.

no ttc towels on the floor here, girlies! Have happy wednesdays. We have decided to go to the beach this weekend. Happily DH's flight has been delayed from Friday to a week today Smile

BeedleTheBard · 17/10/2012 05:39

tock I like your sneaky ways :o but we only really drink tea/coffee at home when my parents are staying so there's probably not much point. Though if I could bribe the guy that fills the coffee machine at work to replace it with decaf we might have a plan, but someone else in the office might notice :o

cupcakes waiting for AF you said?

Sorry you're none the wiser about the AMH sweetie

I tried to go to the gym yesterday, but I managed to forget to pack a hairband, water bottle and my membership card, I thought they might let me in if I could prove my identity, but then I realised I had also forgotten my padlock for the locker, at which point I decided to go straight home instead. Can you tell I havenät been there for a while? :o

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 16/10/2012 22:26

Name check, not mind check Blush

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 16/10/2012 22:25

Evening brookers, how everyone today? Solars I love that you are busy relaxing, it is the best sort of busy :)

Keep I am pleased that you have a good plan, even if most of it will be a waste of time as you will have your bfp before it is all needed.

Sweetie very pleased you picked your towel back up! Brooking no argument that there is a sensible reason they have got it wrong.

Cups long cycle you say? When is test day Wink

Shriek you set that cat on af right now, she will not be allowed near any more brookers, if the cat is too tired from destroying the mouse, any chance of setting the fox on her?

Sparks how are you?

Cheery wave to Maybe, Beedle, Scarlet,Face, Imps sorry if I missed you on mind check, brooking for you all.

Solars · 16/10/2012 21:50

Sweetie will it be possible to see a consultant at the clinic where you had the test? Or is that another expense? I'm ok thanks, just taking a day at a time, I'm surprisingly calm but we'll see how I go! Re the pessaries I'm on twice daily 12 hours apart, only the cyclogest pessaries. I wonder why you were only prescribed one a day? Worth discussing at your appointment. I really hope you get some good answers and they give you a way forward from here x

Cupcakes did I read that right?? Did you say this was a long cycle?? Are you testing soon perhaps then?

TrickorTreatSweetie · 16/10/2012 18:45

Thanks for all your concerns about my AMH results. I did ring the clinic that did the test and they wouldn't discuss it with me!! They said they would speak to the consultant, but as we have never seen a consultant yet I don't think they are going to just call up the bloom place now. I don't really know what to do next, just wait until our appointment I suppose. I still don't believe the result so not sure it really matters. I am just glad we had the test done after our IVF cycle as I sure the clinic wouldn't have let us proceed with AMH of that level.

Cupcakes it is so frustrating how it seems such a postcode lottery as to how treatment guidelines are interpreted. It is worth going back, perhaps see someone different, and explain your concerns. Could you pay for a fertility check privately? Just to get a better idea of what is going on.

keep that is a hell of a schedule!! Are you ok with it all? Just be aware the medical side isn't as difficult as the mental side. Try not to put yourself under too much pressure, do you get any counselling? Also it might be worth researching if your body benefits from a break after such a lot of medication. Are you able to take time outs between cycles?

Solars sounds like a perfect balance at the weekend, to keep you busy enough without taking on too much. How you feeling other than that? What progesterone are you on? Just the cyclogest pesserries? Or the gestone jabs? I was only on a single cyclogest pessary per day but now wonder if that was enough.

Beedle the ups & downs of ttc, at least he is taking his vits and cutting down on the caffeine, shame the SWI is slightly lacking.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 16/10/2012 16:53

Ps am brooking for Scarlett and Maybe too!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 16/10/2012 16:49

Hi brookers,

Sorry I disappeared again! Have been super busy at work. Plus I've been trying not to mental over AF being due (as I'm sure I'm just having a long cycle).

Shriek am v Angry on your behalf that AF dared to darken your doorstep. This month will be your month my dear.

Sweetie am really hoping that the IVF has just messed with your results. Have you managed to speak to anyone about it today? Hope your doing ok.

Beedle is MrB feeling better? I know exactly how you feel. We didn't manage much SWI after the HCG, its so frustrating.

Solars sounds like a perfect weekend, just what you needed.

Keep it's reassuring that the clinics are keen to try clomid & IUI before IVF. I would have just expected them to push the most expensive treatments first.

Sparks I can't believe you got the most elusive pregnancy test of all time to confirm you are diffed! Well done. I am a bit annoyed that you proved the relax and it will happen theory though Grin

Hello to all the PSEPP! Can't believe the triple whammy are past the 20 week mark Smile

I'm waiting for AF to show her face then I'm going to book in at the GPs over my IVF referral. I'm a bit fed up as I know they won't except us until we have been ttc for 3 years (we have already been rejected on that basis a few months ago) So that means waiting a whole year for the referral or maybe considering egg donation in exchange for cheap IVF (that's assuming my eggs are good enough Hmm). I don't think I can wait another year.

Solars · 16/10/2012 14:47

Hello to everyone! This relaxing lark is keeping me busy Hmm

Sweetie hope you're ok and you've managed to speak to the clinic about your result?

Shriek sorry smelly af got you

Little just saw your post, wow 21 weeks, aww and you're expecting a DS, does DD know yet? and how does she feel about it?

Clickety tock lovely to see you around here, hope you're doing well and thanks for your brooking, very much appreciated!

Scarlett thinking of you too, hope all is well!

Beedle I can totally understand your frustrations, the month after my hsg, DH went and got himself a cold man flu and wasn't able to swi, it felt so annoying to waste that month! My DH is the same about dr's too so I usually make his appointments. I like Tocks idea about the teabags!

Keep well done on all those consultations and getting together a plan, sounds good, you'll be right on track to get that bfp before you know it!

Sparkes lovely how are you doing? hopefully not mentalling too much!

Hope you're good Maybe hope that twunty boss isn't giving you hassle, just say the word and i'll have a few choice words with him for you!

Jen well done on the fund raising that's pretty good going for a days work!

Loving your emby dance Boo

Hi to Gen, Bartlett, Biscuits, Cupcakes and anyone else i may have forgotten (sorry if I have)

Not a huge deal to report, we had what sounded like a busy weekend on paper (cousin & family over for lunch on saturday and then out for lunch with in-laws on sunday) but was actually quite relaxing which was really nice as it kept my mind off mentalling. I've had bits of work to do but it's not too taxing which is good and I'm trying to relax and keep positive too in between. Meds have been causing a few night sweats but no other symptoms The pessaries however are a pain and poor DH gets a daily pessary update from me! Off to watch To Catch a Thief so will be back later!

Shrieklette · 16/10/2012 12:56

Just a quickie as work is cracking the whip again today - so pleased I took yesterday off!

sparks AF is being a right cow this month, but it's ok as I have her hog-tied and locked in the pantry. I have threatened to set the cats on her, which scared her no end given that she saw how the cat toy ended up, not to mention how Bertie scared away this morning's fox! She has promised never to bother any brookers ever again Grin

scarlett thinking of you lovely, how are things?

sweetie how are you feeling today? Have you managed to speak to the clinic yet?

SecretSparkle · 16/10/2012 12:46

Sweetie glad you've perked up! That towel will never be dropped again!!

Keep is it nice (if not a little daunting) to have a plan worked out? I'm brooking that you'll brew lots of lovely eggs ready for your cycles!!! but brooking that you wont need them anyway!!

Shriek how are you feeling? AF not being too harsh on you?

clickingtock · 16/10/2012 08:50

Oh and Beedle - I sneakily replaced our teabags at home with decaff ones and DP was none the wiser or else he is such a gent that he never mentioned that he'd wised up to my cunning tricks. Grin
