Hey all, i joined the november thread cus i thought bfp wasnt due til nov 4th but due to a very short cycle last month and some werid symtoms going on yesterday I may have a shot for a oct bfp. So can i join you lovely ladies

I'm off the bus for this month, the unmistakable af backache began a few days ago. Does anyone else get basically constant pains? I get 3-4 days pain free after af ends and before ov Pain. Bad ov pains, 2-3 days off then af pains I don't like this growing old malarkey!

Am stepping off bus for next couple of months too so will send you all oodles of baby dust and rejoin in new year

Ok I am very confused today. Cd17 and no hint of a smiley opk. Usually I ov cd15/16 of 28/29 day cycle so wtf is going on? It would just be sod's law that I don't ov this month when I have dh home at the right time. Gah!

Lexi - really sorry to hear about your BFN and what a trying day you've had.

I'm testing negative, boob pain subsiding,AF due any time. It's like being in limbo or no man's land.

laptopgirl no don't use the CBFM I've been using the cheap internet ovulation sticks then when they look positive for LH surge I use a clear blue ovulation stick to confirm the result with the unmistakable smiley face.

I'm sorry to hear of your CP, it does sound similar to what I've experienced.
I don't know how much of my little story you've read, so in brief.

Did preg test monday which was day before af due with a early tester which was neg
Did test thursday which was 2 days after af due with another early tester very faint positive
Next day tested again as was hoping for a stronger positive got a neg but found out that this test was not as sensitive as the early testers.
Next day did the same, neg again.
Monday evening started spotting
Tuesday took urine sample to doctors, tested in morning as well and looked again faint positive, still spotting and then in evening really bad cramps but no real blood loss still just spotting.
Today still spotting, no cramps.

I'm really pleased to have you all to talk to, we're not telling anyone in real life except my closest friend, my mum called about an hour after I got results and I felt awful as I couldn't tell her and of course I really wasn't in the mood for chit chat, it felt a bit uncomfortable, hopefully DM didn't realise anything was up.

lexi I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope that you are getting lots of support in RL and that you get a BFP soon. To be honest, I?m quite confused about OBKs, ovulation, luteul phases etc.

Well, I got back from short break in Rome last night. I'm CD26 but so far have only had BFNs. Still feeling nauseous all the time (apart from when I eat) and my boobs are still really sore and tender - the tenderness and pain has now spread from being kind of under my arms to the whole of my boobs. This is what they were like when I got pregnant the first time. I've been trying not to but I've completely got my hopes up. I'm going to test on Saturday morning although as this is a wtf cycle, who knows what will happen!

lexido you mean a cp? I had implantation spotting that didn't stop. Had a feint positive on my due date and thats when spotting started. A week later tested again and still feint positive. All that week had horrid cramps. When i was a week late i took bad pains then a gush of blood then nothing. Af never showed up at all. Tested next morning and was negative . Doc said was hormonal so called family planning. They explained it was a cp. Next cycle was 6 weeks but hoping back on track now.

Autumn Yeah that's what I ned to do, start opk-ing again, would make dating a pregnancy a bit more difficult if I do then ovulate without getting AF first but hay ho, heres to poas every afternoon and being busting for a wee every flippin day Disclaimer- I pee alot and find it difficult to wait the suggested 4 hours

Lexi I assumed I ovulated 14 days before my period was due about 30 days so day 16-17. On my first I also fell pregnant first month of trying just by tracking my cycle days. My DH said it's too soon to be worrying about not getting pregnant as this was first cycle but I can't help it. If I knew my correct ovulation dates I wouldn't be so worried. I bought the cheapies off the internet so i'm going to test everyday whether AF comes or not. x

You can have more than one surge, yes...wonder if it is worth continuing to test even after you get a surge to see if another follows?

I'm exactly like you. Need to know the ins and outs of everything (pun intended!).

I wonder then if I got my LH surge on my OPK (cb smiley face) and then didn't ovulate, I have read somewhere on MN that you can have more than 1 surge a month, if my luteal phase was longer I'm still overdue for AF and it still won't explain the spotting.

I'm one of those people who needs to know and understand why and how things happen, so I'm finding it hard to fit this all together and have it make sense, I guess it's not going to make sense, just one of those things.

Yes I do use OPK's and I do exactly what you suggested.

Not arse about face, but as your luteal phase can be between 10-16 days, if you had a 34 day cycle you would ovulate anywhere from day 18 to 24.

Do you use OPKs, Lexi? It may be worth getting cheapie ones and POAS every day until you get a positive. You could then use something more expensive to confirm its result.

Does it sound like it was a CM then? I had wondered when I got my first + followed by - but then didmissed it as AF hadn't arrived.

pinkfizz I know DH is upset too, he's been talking about his super sperm, cause we got pregnant first of trying with DD and was very impressed with himself for seeming to have filled the objective on our second month of trying.

I have to admit I didn't think I'd break into tears. I'd spoken to the nurse and was fine, it was when I came to write on here that I suddenly started crying.
I think it was because I had convinced myself I was pregnant, kind of felt a little like a formality getting the doctors test back, I had dipped hpt in the same urine sample that the doctors used and got a very faint line (FR one step test)

Been wondering same as you Autumn in regards to AF and ovulation.
DH asked if this spotting is it for this month or if we need to wait for a real AF, this is nothing like my usual AF so I guessing I just have to wait.

In regard to expecting AF, I ovulated on the 25th Sept (cycle day 15) and thought that periods usually came around 14 days later, so if you had a longer cycle lets say 34 days for ease that you would ovulate around day 20. Have I got that completely arse about face.

Please forgive your dh he wont have meant to be insensitive. I had a cp at 5wks in Aug and dh couldn't understand why i was upset as, in his words, i was barely pregnant ? thank goodness for girlfriends and mn!

I completely understand how you feel at the moment. I've had regular periods since birth of Ds 3 years ago, every 29-30 days. Decide to start trying for baby this month, and now on day 35 and no period but I'm not pregant as took several tests and have no symptoms what so ever. I just want it to start, so I know I'll have another chance in a few weeks.

This may sound stupid but does anyone know if I miss this AF, can I ovulate next month or do I have to have AF in order to the new cycle to start? I'm now in a panic that ovulation did not happen this month so bought OPK but don't think I can start using it until after AF?

Poor ,poor you lexix I'm sure Dh didn't mean that the way it came out. Men can be incredibly insensitive which is soul destroying and just makes things so much worse.

You have good company here if you want to rant or cry. Do see your gp about AF being AWOL. X

I empathise completely - husbands just do not understand and there is nothing worse than "oh there's always the next time" if you have started to maybe hope this is the right time.
