Grin at my correct use of the work furtle, it just seemed right and GrinGrin at lobsters like sperm, I actually did lol
I must admit i was thinking on the lines of kids medicine stringes aswell, i dont know why im discussing it like a real possibility when i promised dh i was more relaxed about it this month Blush

Sorry For you Nic, that must have been so so hard and sad

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/09/2012 00:08

Really must learn to proof read...

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/09/2012 00:07

Having never basted anything in my life, I don't have a convenient turkey vaster ganging around, but I was eyeing one of the sterile syringes you occasionally get with kids medicines instead of spoons the other day. Grin

Talking about ewcm, I once heard that using expectorant cough syrup a few hours before before dtd can also thin your cm, so possibly helping the sperm to get where they need to be. There are probably 100 threads on this and it's probably bollocks for all I know but I doubt it'd do any harm, I've got some in the cupboard actually...

Sorry to hear about headaches and funerals and general frustration, hope your week gets better, all of you x

fatasbutter · 04/09/2012 23:41

Sorry to hear that nic Sad
Funerals for young people are always heart breaking x

NickiNockiNoodle · 04/09/2012 23:27

Hi resipsa, yes, it was Dylan's. It was so sad. The priest was lovely though. He had to wipe away a tear at the crem too :-( Bloody TV cameras everywhere at the church.

And I like the idea of a new Defence...it'll be an extension to provocation (which changed between being taught about it and the exam, and we were told we needed to know the new law for it!).

Ha ha! Yes there will be new law: The Spousal Compliance with TTC Act 2012!! Wink

resipsa · 04/09/2012 22:34

kitty if you and fatas get arrested for stabbings, nic and I will defend you and create a new precedent for a defence to murder/GBH of failure to comply with TTC requirements. All the students will learn about it in 10 years.

resipsa · 04/09/2012 22:30

Nic it wasn't Dylan's was it? Must have been sad whoever but especially so if his.
When when are you getting prog test? Is it supposed to be 7 days after ov? If yes, sounds like your body is having a laugh this month. Why do they do that to us? After all, we feed them and keep them going; you'd think they'd be nicer to us in trying times.
Still planning a birthday test but now thinking it'll probably ruin what should be a nice day so maybe I'll wait until 16th...

According to the urban dictionary, furtle means to rummage around. Ha!

Not sure about swimmers in the fridge- if they're like lobsters or other invertebrates they could just be stored in there and then would regain motility when returned to room temp. New as I am, I'm not sure there are many similarities between sperm and lobsters however....

DulcetMoans · 04/09/2012 22:00

Is furtle a real word? I never heard it before! I just see what happens on knicker watch though but I get plenty and some people don't.

I reckon the spermies must have to be kept at room temperature, well body temperature really. They wouldn't be used to fridge temps, surely?

fatasbutter · 04/09/2012 21:38

Grin at james's turkey baster idea (wasn't that in sunset beach?!!)

Sorry to all others with rubbish dh's like mine - mine is only just finished work, so I'm not really hopeful for getting any tonight tbh... Angry

FrustratedSycamorePants · 04/09/2012 21:25

thundercats one don't I sound posh doesn't always notice it, and not everybody gets it, and not all the time. mines been AWOL for a few months but i might just be missing it.

NickiNockiNoodle · 04/09/2012 21:18

Furtle is a great word!! I don't do that...even though my CM went AWOL this month!

And yes, Thunder, he did score brownie points. :-)

Thundercatsarego · 04/09/2012 21:16

Ohhh... I will now be eagle eyed! How can I have got to 33 and not noticed this stuff before?!

Hi nic sorry to hear about funeral. Tea + dinner must redeem some brownie points tho!

FrustratedSycamorePants · 04/09/2012 21:11

Must not Furtle for EWCM I will be totally relaxed this month. No furtling, no OPK, no saliva. I am not counting days intentionally and I will not POAS.

thundercats you know when you scramble eggs and there's that runny egg white bit that's always the last to cook. Its just like that.

NickiNockiNoodle · 04/09/2012 20:59

Hi newbies...good to see more faces in here :-)

We really do have a bunch of uncooperative OHs, don't we? I was wondering about the basting option last night too! Not sure about the logistics.

Shit day here...been home and back for a funeral :-( Knackered with a splitting headache.

H2B had a pot of tea and dinner waiting for me on my return though, bless him.

Thundercatsarego · 04/09/2012 20:54

Hi all,

Thanks for the furtle tip kitty. So does it seriously stretch and blob about like egg white?! I just can't imagine that! Let alone cloudy....(shows my naivity Blush )

Storing it up sounds blooming great. while we're at it can't we just extract it from OHs when they're being useless, oh no that'd be unethical

kittykatskumkwat · 04/09/2012 20:32

James I was thinking exactly the same thing myself after watching an old one born every minute episode this morning with lesbians!!! I wondered how dh would take it if he was working around ov and I asked him in his convenience to whip one into a pot for me! I'm not sure he'd be too happy but how long would it keep and where? Fridge or I'm sure I've heard body temperature and what to use to put it back in?
As you can see after being turned down I've given it considerable though Blush

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/09/2012 20:28

Ok having thrown all discretion and tmi alerts away, I have to ask if anyone has ever tried any more sneaky ways to get around the "not tonight dear" principle? (I should add I'm not talking about tricking an unwilling man into getting you pg, talking about men who are committed to ttc with you but aren't being proactive enough!) I mean turkey basters and stuff? lol

kittykatskumkwat · 04/09/2012 20:01

Grrrrr stupid dh refused me today as he was too tired!!!! Annoyingly I'd turned down a friend going far afield so I could keep dd awake til 1 ish then come home and dtd while she was napping and he'd have had long enough to sleep, he was up awake pottering about but too tired to shag me aparently, doesn't he realise that was a military timed operation I did there without telling him so as not to put the "pressure on" AngryAngryAngry
He better get his act together tomorrow or I may join fatas with a knife
Cd22 for me but ov was as late as cd23 the last few cycles so still may be yet to come, still hoping to do a test on your bday res!!! Will you wait for that day? I think you should ( I will even fork out on a frer to optimise my chance incase my dates are off)
P.s welcome newbies and thunder I have a "furtle" around to see what cm is like if it's not obvious ie in my pants, I find I have to get a fair but to see if it's stretch like EWCM or just watery . Now how's that for tmi on a first conversation Wink

Lolcbcblemonlime · 04/09/2012 20:00

Evening all
Cd14 for me and negative opk. Think ov due sun only so plan a shag tomorrow and one thu then one more sat or sun depending on opk.
I feel your pain on waiting game. It does really suck!

peardrop2 · 04/09/2012 19:45

Evening! I too feel the 2ww frustration. I'm 6DPO today, if I did indeed ovulate this month. I can't give up on the hope that I could have ovulated on my own or AF might turn up soon :-/ Either way I'd like something to happen!

DulcetMoans · 04/09/2012 19:27

I know its easy to say as mine are free and I am on the trial but I am so much happier with my smiley sticks than I was with the IC. Never got an ov result on them as it was just never dark enough! If still not pg at end of the trial (why oh why would I not be?!) then I would probably fork out for them.

I'm 4DPO so feeling the pain res and fatas. Feels like ages til I can test and in that weird stage where, yes I had the smiley but I might not quite have ov'd possibly. It's an inbetween-y stage as you don't actually know when the egg dropped. Stupid waiting!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasAnOrange · 04/09/2012 18:57

Hi thunder I just don't know what is going on with the opks this month. I could easily just be ovulating late this cycle or I could have missed the lh surge this month.
Kicking myself for buying the Internet cheapies.
