Hey all

Got my rest results back. All normal ? phew!

Only thing a bit low is red blood cell count which relates to iron. So I need to up my protein ? which is funny because I've been doing a low carb diet! Will be stocking up on green leafy veg :D

resipsa · 21/08/2012 12:13

In a(nother) bored moment at my desk, I looked at where she'd posted. Wow, she was prolific! So many posts about so many things with a lot of personal detail. I only inhabit the TTC threads myself (as talking about it in RL is so much harder) and think I spend quite a lot of time on here but I am really an amateur in comparison to some.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 21/08/2012 12:00

Hang in there red you'll get your dd (or maybe ds).

I know kick could be really blunt a few of her posts made me feel Shock but I quite like more forthright posters. Maybe not so much on the conception threads I feel a bit more sensitive re conceiving. On the other boards though a blunt approach is ok with me.

nic ? I'm so sorry to hear about your little cousin. He is gorgeous, I saw his pic in the paper this morning. Extremely sad.

lol and red ? sorry for BFN's but fingers crossed it's too early.

red and kitten ? I completely understand your fears cause I have felt them too along this crazy ride called TTC. it really is a rollercoaster. some days I feel hopeful, other days I believe it won't happen to me ever. But I'm never happy. Deep down I am not truly happy. I either feel hopeful or sad. My husband feels the same, he's just sad too. He actually spoke to a friend about it the other day which I thought would help him but he's still moping around the house!

Ad for kick I'm not surprised she got banned cause I thought her attitude could rub people up the wrong way but she's always been alright with me so Grin

resipsa · 21/08/2012 11:19

Red I see that you know what you'll be having (DD)!

Kittenkatzen · 21/08/2012 11:19

Hang on to that dream red it will come true! And when it does, you'll be sitting on your sofa holding your DD and remembering when you had the dream, and then you'll come back on here and tell us all about it! :o

redstrawberry · 21/08/2012 11:13

ah kitten its like you took the words out of my mouth. I was driving in thinking about how I felt at not getting my dream job and this feels just like that. So out of your control - its frustrating. You know you OV, you have sex, time it right, and bam the witch arrives every month!

I also tried to do some positive thinking and thought when I didnt get my dream job, I waited and eventually got something that was even better than my dream job. I ended up very ecstatic and happy. So maybe good things come to those who wait.

6 or 7 months ago - I had a very surreal dream - I was sat on the sofa in the lounge and having a cuddle with my gorgeous DD. I am hoping it comes true. Praying every day it comes true. she was tiny and beautiful.

redstrawberry · 21/08/2012 11:07

It def helps just feel 12months is so so far. It makes it harder when I have to attend baby showers or social dos with the bumps. I told myself I am not going to think about it for a few days. Whatever will be, will be.

AF is due Sunday / Monday - after last month's long cycle. But I have been getting pre-AF symptoms early on.

Sore boobage has started again. weird.

Kittenkatzen · 21/08/2012 11:06

Ahh red I know it sucks doesn't it - like being turned down for the best job in the world every single month.

I have to admit to having similar feelings myself. It's weird - being a mother is the only thing I've ever been sure I wanted to do, but now we're here it's like I just can't picture it actually happening. I know I'm not being rational, but it's like a gut feeling that I can't shake. I even mentioned it to DH a couple of weeks ago after a glass or two of wine and he said he sometimes felt the same. Which helped LOADS, not. :(

Your DH is right though, we have to try and stay positive for our own sanity. 4 months isn't really that long (same as me actually) in the grand scheme of things.

resipsa · 21/08/2012 11:01

Red don't know if it helps at all (and tell me to shut up and go away if not) but it took us 12 months the first time round (DD) and 5 months the second (m/c). All random so far as I am concerned as nothing notable about the "successful" months. Positive thinking is one of those things it's easier to say than do and easier to do some days more than others.

Results yet newbie ?

NicolaHazel · 21/08/2012 10:52

That is an awesome expression!

redstrawberry · 21/08/2012 10:46

Grin at Holy Christmas!!

Thanks kitten don't know but for the first time in 4months I am contemplating what if I can't get pregnant? DH keeps telling me to think positive but its hard when you get smacked by BFNs and AF constantly.

Kittenkatzen · 21/08/2012 10:38

:o you can thanks Mr Kitten for that little gem!

swimmingnotdrowning · 21/08/2012 10:36

And Holy Christmas! is an expression that I just have to start using! Thanks kitten.

swimmingnotdrowning · 21/08/2012 10:35

fx for weechops ov - it must be hard for anyone ttc when OH is working offshore.

Kittenkatzen · 21/08/2012 10:30

Holy christmas did the whole world go mad last night???

nic I am so so sorry for your family's loss, it is beyond tragic and I can't imagine how you all must be feeling. Certainly puts trivial online arguments into perspective :( hugs for you all from chez kitten, I really hope they find little Dylan very soon.

lol and red sorry for the bfn's, although it's early days for you both still, don't give up hope just yet it'll just make next cycle seem that much longer

All very odd about kick being banned, she certainly was very forthright with her views, but I couldn't see anything on that linked thread that was remotely ban-worthy. Oh well.

when I've never had a post deleted....but then I don't think I've been brave enough to get stuck in to any proper bun fights just yet!

resipsa · 21/08/2012 10:06

Oh Nic his little smiling face was on the front of the papers on the train this morning. This kind of tradgedy makes everyone take stock, I think.

NicolaHazel · 21/08/2012 09:57

I'm in agreement with resipsa. Kick totally misread one of my posts last week and gave me a patronising lecture in response. Not really appreciated or called for.

I'm all for a pragmatic approach to TTC (where possible!) but EVERYONE is different when pregnant. Even between pregnancies for one person. So as far as I'm concerned, there is no absolute truth. And even if there was, I wouldn't want it rammed in my face every 5 minutes.

When, my family is devastated and totally shocked. We need him back.

Thank you all again for your support.

redstrawberry · 21/08/2012 09:47

And no when haven't had a message deleted yet either :)

redstrawberry · 21/08/2012 09:46

Sorry about the bfn lol hope you don't have to wait in limbo land for long.

Yes last night was odd, but I will for sure miss kick on the TTC threads. After a year's worth of TTC and all that research she was able to share what she had learnt in her ttc journey, and I appreciated it. Sometimes it was harsh and not what you want to hear, but at least it was no beating around the bush and upfront honesty. The way I see it, I have the choice to ignore a lot of the stuff that doesn't make sense on TTC threads, and everyone is entitled to their opinions :)

So...any hoooooww...I am on 10dpo and BFN again today (cudn't resist testing) so decided to give up all hope for August. Roll on Sep.

Lolcbcb · 21/08/2012 09:40

I agree. I tend to think something must have been said to cause all this for kick.
It was a clear bfn but it's not over until af comes. Don't feel pmt but who knows? Still itchy boobs...

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 21/08/2012 09:36

Totally forgot to say sorry for the BFN lol it is a bit early so I still have my fx.

Friend of mine tested negative 5 days after missed period, she is about 10 weeks now.

Hi nic how are the family today? Was thinking of you last night.

I had a look at the thread kick posted. It was deletion city so no idea what was going on there. Seemed to be mixed opinions on whether she should have been deleted.

Has anyone else ever had a message deleted? I haven't (yet).

OP posts:
resipsa · 21/08/2012 09:28

Last night was odd, indeed. Personally, I am always wary of people who insist on telling you the "truth" (particularly when you haven't asked for it) as if only their version of it is valid. Deep down, we all know that a lot of crap is spoken on these TTC threads but we're all adults and can choose what to believe/not believe for ourselves.
Back to business...newbie?

weechops · 21/08/2012 09:07

Nic I'm so terribly sorry for you and your family xx

Lol sorry for the bfn. Maybe just a bit too early to test?

Well I'm still waiting for my smiley face on opk. I think I'm due to ov on thursday as that's cd16 of 30 day cycle. Hoping so anyway since dh is away back offshore Thursday night for 2 weeks! At least he won't be here for my obsessive 2ww :)
