Hi Girls,

I thought I'd start a new thread the old one was getting a bit long.

I am feeling a lot more relaxed this month. We have been BD'ing but more for the fun of it than for babymaking. DH (bless him) has bought me a separate present for each the 12 days of Xmas - one a day. He has bought me some lovely things - which are very useful in "getting us in the mood"...

I am such a lucky girl!

Here's hoping Santa is kind to us all...

THat shouldn't have been a winky after "pop"!! PLus, I didn't mean my neighbour was mad in a horrible way; I meant we all drive ourselves mad with this whole ttc malarky.

Moomin · 07/01/2004 20:32

I remember having this conversation with my next door neighbour who was trying 18 months for her dd1 and 12 months for her dd2. She said when she was trying for dd1, she even became insanely jealous of Sarah Platt on Corrie and could hardly bear to watch her. Jealous of a fictional 13 year old who's up the duff!! mad, isn't it?
I booked my appt to see my gp on Monday. AF is due Sat, so I've booked it in defiance - I'm not stringing myself along this month. I need to feel pro-active. THing is, I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating (due to the egg white every month, plus during a vaginal ultra-sound in the summer they said they could see the egg ready to "pop". I'm now worried that dd's super-sperm might not be so super any more . What checks will they do first? Does anyone know?

cazzybabs · 07/01/2004 20:04

Maybe we should put this on the why we love mumset thread - because it helps us see that we are only human. God I thought I was the only bitch who, when people told me they were preganant, I was like why can't it be me and would look at them with green eyes. I can't stand my sil talking about her preganacy and this is really awful I really didn't want to have to see her over Xmas because all I could think about is why not me!!! See I am worse than you all. I am terrified of not being able to have any more children - my mum could only have one. I can't decide if its worse to only have 1 or none at all. Anyway I hope it will happen for you all soon - the more I read about it the more I think its a miracle its happens at all.

fisil · 07/01/2004 19:41

Which reminds me - when I moan to dp "why is it taking so long" he says "no it isn't"

Well, to those of us whose input is a monthly shag, maybe it doesn't seem like much hassle. To those of us who have a week of AF, then a week of working out dates then two weeks of waiting before the whole damn thing starts over (and of course, not drinking throughout all of this), even one month would seem like a long time.

Oooh, that felt good to get off my chest!

BeckiF · 07/01/2004 19:37

I'm the same, normally delighted, ecstatic for pregnant friends/family. Then there are the days when I hate myself, and am jealous to the point of crying about it. Sit there moaning to DP about how THEY don't deserve a baby, how WE'VE got SO much love to give, how we'd be complete with a baby. And then I remind myself that I'd rather be in an utterley adoring relationship and without children, then miserable WITH children. Every baby deserves to be in a family where the parents are as much in love as me an dp are. So, I'm lucky to be with my gorgeous, understanding dp who wants babies as much as I. I could be childless AND in a terrible relationship I spose.

fisil · 07/01/2004 19:26

I definitely feel like that sometimes Moomin. Agree with what hana says, and your description of yourself is wrong wrong wrong (but right when I apply it to myself, of course )

hana · 07/01/2004 19:23

no you're not moomin, we all feel like that sometimes. I have such a range of emotions towards being pregnant (or not) on a daily basis. We'll get there. And what a feeling it's going to be

Moomin · 07/01/2004 19:14

I think the pmt kicked in with a vengeance today - had a vile day at work, feel ugly, fat, bloated and utterly, utterly jealous of pregnant people. Feel useless that I'm still here after a year and have got to the stage that I feel it just WON'T happen for me now. The other day I was so happy for my friends and everyone here who had been successful but now I just feel like crawling into a hole. God I'm horrible...
sorry

fisil · 07/01/2004 18:51

Glad I'm not the only one left.

Sometimes I feel really envious, sometimes I am really happy for people. I think it just depends on where you are in your cycle.

First possible AF day today - nine to go.

hana · 07/01/2004 17:19

pollingford - I need repeat blood tests on the 29 of this month and after that I'll know if I need the baby aspirin. I decided not to take them afterall....I did for 3 days and then stopped. It's not too long a wait now I suppose. Is this your second or third? Best wishes for a wonderful pregnancy, and I hope to join you soon!
hana

pollingfold · 07/01/2004 10:24

Thanks everyone. Will probably stick around here for a while if you don't mind until it feels a bit more real.

I totally understand all the feelings of envy. 2 days after my m/c I found out that my sister was expecting, totally unplanned with a much older family already.

Hoping all your Bd'ing pays off in the very near future.

Hana good luck with all the tests, have they confirmed whether you can start taking the baby aspirin

mears · 07/01/2004 09:22

Midwife/doctor might use obstetric wheel to calculate date in which case it might be different by a day or so.

SpringChicken · 07/01/2004 09:21

Congratulations Pollingfold and Jacksmumto1

Get yourselves over to the September thread right away - Well done

mears · 07/01/2004 09:19

Sorry, meant to say add that time to date of last period starting.

M2T · 07/01/2004 09:19

lol Jacsmumto1 - I have a 30 day cycle, but it didn't make a difference to how the GP and the midwife worked out my due date. So it's the 9th for now. It'll probably change after your 12 week scan anyway.

Sounds like you have probably conceived a girl. We did the deed a couple of days after ovulation (I think!).... so it's most likely to be another boy.

mears · 07/01/2004 09:18

jacksmumto1 - you add on 7 days then 9 months to get your EDD, whatever length of cycle you have. Pregnancy lasts 37 - 42 weeks so there is plenty of room for manoeuvre regarding date of delivery
Your EDD is 11th Sept.

jacksmumto1 · 07/01/2004 09:13

I know M2T I know!!! I was convinced it wouldn't be this month and lo and behold! No signs either just pmt and cramps which are normal for me!!

Actually can someone help? I thought I was due sept 9th but I then realised that my cycle length is 30 days not 28 - does that mean I am due sept 11th? (first day last period 4th dec).

Also I will be so interested to know the sex of this baby!!!! We 'did the deed' 4-5 days before I concieved - and I can be accurate on this - which fits in with 'trying for a girl' theory.... what will I have?! Not that it actually makes a difference though dh would love a girl!!!

hana · 07/01/2004 09:12

still here too...and am very envious.

But lots of congrats and healthy pregnancy vibes to Pollingford and Jacksmunto1.........enjoy your pregnancies!
