hi, got married last year, now 32 so feel it's time to try for a family, came off pill in feb but didn't start trying till June, 2 periods later no joy but I know it's very early days.....

I was the same as you Hazlenut - sore boobs and everything! Mine was all in my head but Fx yours are actual symptoms, rather than just wishful thinking (as it was in my case!)

liddy - how frustrating. You get to the point where you just want AF to come so you can start again? Although I would rule out the test from Sunday - even if you pg the hormones could have easily been too low to detect... Am sure there's still hope!

Liddy100 · 05/09/2012 09:29

Nope - nothing from me today im afraid - Aunt Flo still hasnt arrived but i've only ever been able to pin point it to the 5th / 6th of the month

I did take a pt on Sunday though (mainly cos i was bored....hehe) and it came back negative. The pack did say that its always more accurate the closer to your period it is....i think im losing the will to live!

Any news from you Bunny? xx

HazleNutt · 05/09/2012 09:10

Same boat too. I'm 33, almost 34. Got married in 2010 and now can't find any more excuses not to try. Actually were planning to start a year ago, but then was diagnosed with Graves disease. That's all sorted now, so have been trying for a couple of months. Should not have any other health issues, as far as I know, slightly irregular periods, but have not had any specific fertility testing.
Period due any day now so of course imagining all kinds of pregnancy symptoms, as you do..

janey1234 · 05/09/2012 09:03

Any news then Liddy and Bunny? Got everything crossed for you!

I came on this morning - rubbish - but figure at least this way I can start tracking from my first period since coming off the pill... Am sure I didn't ovulate last month though - can that happen?!

Bunnygirlie · 04/09/2012 22:36

Fx back at you Liddy!

I would wait til morning tho. then yes poas!

Bunnygirlie · 04/09/2012 17:38

Ello, anybody had any weird spotting? As previously mentioned my last AF was weird, Friday-Monday all I had was tiny bit of blood instead of my usual period and I googled and it can't be implantation bleed as haven't DTD recently but apparently you can get some bleeding in place of your normal period, so ladies I ask you

To POAS or not to POAS, that is the question?!?

If your blood tests show up with a hormone imbalance and you go for a scan which shows 10 or more cysts then there is a high chance you have pcos

Obsv im not a professional but i've had the experience of being scanned and tested - everyone is different though xxx

weeblueberry · 04/09/2012 10:20

I've got an appointment at the docs in a week or so. I have quite a lot of PCOS symptoms - would this show in a blood test? I just sort of assumed they'd do one if I asked but BF said they might want to wait until we've been trying for 6 months?

Hi nor77

I went to the doctors a month or so ago for blood tests for ovulation and i think they are probably testing for a hormone imbalance. They took my bloods as i have a history of cysts on my ovaries which can sometimes cause irratic periods and ovulation.

Its really nothing to worry about at all - they might just suggest that you pee on an ovulation stick from the last day of your period onwards in order for you to track your ovulation. Then you and your husband just get to dtd all the time...result!

I know its hard, but try and stay positive. Good Luck xxx

hi
new to the site, i just turned 38, i got married in May but have been with my partner since Jan 2011. We've been trying to get pregnant since June this year and no luck so far, i know the disappointment that you ladies feel too at the 1st sign of your period!
i did go to my GP who booked me in for blood test (to see if i'm ovulating as i should) and when i rang to get the results the receptionist said the doc needs to see me. i'm so worried now, i hope everything is ok. have any of you been for the same test and been referred to the doc? or am i just over-analysing?

thanks

Liddy100 · 03/09/2012 13:38

Yeah - first wee of the day usually as thats when the hormone will be at its peak (so i've been told).

Boots Conception Care tablets were reccommended to me too - gives your body all the right nutrients etc as well as Folic Acid. Watch out though, they have made my appitite go mad (which i mistook for food cravings 3 days after ovulation - hilarious)!

xx

weeblueberry · 03/09/2012 13:13

That's really helpful hon - thanks. I bought my ovulation sticks from eBay and they were pretty cheap. I mean, they all do the same job right? Do you just use one once a day?

Liddy100 · 03/09/2012 12:43

Hi weeblueberry

Seems like we used to have the same problem with our periods. Over the last year i've lost a good couple of stone which has seemed to help regulate my periods and ovulation. I also suffer from a few cysts on my ovaries which can mean my ovulation date isnt the same each month.

One tip i would give you is to start peeing on the ovulation sticks as soon as you have finished your period. I've been doing this for the past couple of months and my ovulation date has been within a day or two of the previous one. I thought it would be expensive but a friend told me of the ovulation sticks in Wilkinsons which are a fraction of the price and still very accurate. I think this is the best way to track ovulation if you arent having regular cycles.

My husband and i dtd every other day (give or take) from my period ending and on/around the ovulation date we do it every day (sorry if tmi but we are all in the same boat afterall).

Hope this helps - good luck xx

weeblueberry · 03/09/2012 12:37

I think I'll join you guys if that's okay. :) I posted a thread earlier in the weekend about measuring my temp and trying to use that as an indicator of ovulating but it seems to vary by a good couple of degrees every day lol. Think my thermometer is duff haha.

Anyway I'm 28 and BF and I been 'trying not to not get pregnant' for the last 4 months. My little cousin then announced recently she's pregnant so it's sort of spurred me into action and I'm going to try mapping it all out. Bought some ovulation/pregnancy tests (and the broken thermometer lol...) but my periods are pretty inconsistent so I suspect it's going to take a long time to get into a rhythm. I was seriously overweight until a couple of years ago and was on the pill. Prior to the pill my periods were non existent (because I was so heavy) and since I've lost weight but come off the pill they're still pretty all over the place. I've got an app to track them now so hopefully within a few months I can pinpoint when I'm ovulating (or likely to...). Its terrible but I'm actually 'hoping' for my period to show in the next couple of days because it will mean my TOTM is regulating somewhat (it's started on the 2nd of the last two months).

Sorry for the novel ;)

janey1234 · 03/09/2012 12:18

I know, it is all consuming isn't it! Vaguely worried I might get the sack for googling signs of ovulation instead of doing my job.... Blush

Good luck everyone x

I'm really sorry about your loss Janey, hope it happens quickly for you.

They way I try not to think about it is just keeping busy. Going to the gym, and I've started a project to cook every recipe in Mary Berry's cookbook, yesterday was Brownies and they were a disaster, think my mix was in a tray that was too deep and they didn't cook properly. I also plan events in my spare time, the work Ball, and volunteer for an organisation organising their awards. Well I enjoyed planning my wedding so much I just kept planning!

Good luck everyone - we'll get there xx

Liddy100 · 03/09/2012 10:36

Im sorry to hear about your loss Janey - keeping everything crossed for you this time round.

How is everyone dealing with it not being a constant thought...i know its not going to help if im over thinking everything (inward stress and all that) - any tips would be much appreciated! xx

Incidentally, I had a mmc at 12 weeks last year with accidental pregnancy with ex. Hoping that I'm able to get pg quickly this time, given my age, and that it doesn't end so sadly this time. Determined to be positive! Smile
