Sounds like sound advice. How old are you bunny?
Take some vits too x

Bunnygirlie · 10/09/2012 21:50

Hey ladies, went to the docs today just to get some advice and chat to somebody. She said if not PG by new year she will run some tests. She advised to eat healthy, don't drink much and exercise, applies to me and hubby, neither of us is overweight or smoke so that's good too. She also said that DTD too often can be bad too, every 3 or 4 days is fine and the more when ovulating of course. Just thought I'd share :-)

I agree. With all this technology in the world we have not invented a test which can at least tell you if u have conceived!!!!
If the cb digital can measure your conception date surely it could be done!!
Well annoyjngAngry
I'm only on 2dpo or even 1. Long way to go Sad

janey1234 · 10/09/2012 12:26

Oh daisy we're here with everything crossed for you! Why oh why can you not know as soon as you've DTD if you're pregnant for that month or not?! It's SO hard to have to wait the two weeks, symptom spotting like a loon....

The longer you wait the better though I'm sure - and if you poas first thing in the morning I think that if they're there, the pg hormones are more concentrated. So if you can't stand the wait maybe try to hold on for tomorrow morning?!

Got everything crossed for you.... xx

MaxDaisy · 10/09/2012 12:03

OK ladies, Im getting towards crunch time. Feeling nervous excitement now as my boobs are STILL hurting. Its been over a week now and although this has always been a monthly occurance for me its usually only for 3-5 days maximum. Im about 5/6 days away from expected AF. I still have my test from last month (popped out to buy one and got AF on my way home- the irony hey!) I can use it up to 5 days before AF but with only a 35% chance of working so going to try wait as long as possible to take it but need to stop getting secretly excited as I may be gutted again!!!!

Big welcome to all newbies! Lets all be obsessed together!!!!

janey1234 · 10/09/2012 10:35

I've decided the tracking temperatures thing is waaaay too tricky for me, and due to my age (and therefore slight need to get a move on) I've therefore bought some clear blue fertility test things. They've arrived today, and my AF finished on Saturday so I think I should start peeing on sticks shortly! Before the pill I used to have short but slightly irregular periods (shortest 23 days, longest 27, usually around 25) so I think I'd better start using them soon in case I miss my ovulation. Or is that a massive waste of money?!

Welcome to all the newbies and Fx for us all Smile x

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/09/2012 12:47

Apparently any thermometer which calculates upto two decimal points works.

UnoriginalUsername · 09/09/2012 12:38

Thanks for the info Zombies, got all excited when I read the link and was about to go grab my digital thermometer out of the bathroom cabinet but then read on to find you need a special basal one...off to amazon it is Smile
Not sure I'm going to be able to keep all this charting up though as I work away quite alot
Good to know the opk's work Lol spoke to DH this morn and were gonna give it another month or 2 of good old date predicting (hopefully my cycle becomes less erratic) then if no luck we'll give the kits a go. Do let me know how you get on

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/09/2012 12:26

I'm using MyDays (app) so not so much work. Just get temp as soon as wake up t seven sharp and note it in phone. Just that seems so inaccurate that I am headed the OPK/ fertility monitor way.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 09/09/2012 12:18

I've no idea of temps either. Sounded like a huge amount of work!
I bought cheap opk and finally got a line yesterday so they do work!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/09/2012 12:10

Apparently the temp rises by about .02 or more when you are ovulating or going to ovulate.. www.babycentre.co.uk/preconception/suspectingaproblem/howtochartyourtemp/

UnoriginalUsername · 09/09/2012 11:21

I have no idea about temp charts Zombies
Not wanting to sound totally stupid Smile... but what temp are you supposed to look for? and I might give it a go

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/09/2012 10:56

Have been temp charting but am clearly spectacularly incompetent at it!
My temp chart for the past few days shows 35.97, 35.83, 36.26, 35.96, 35.93.
Either I have the most erratic temps of all time (literally blowing hot and cold) or I need to get better at this! Not holding my breath- trying to get hold of a CBFM.

UnoriginalUsername · 09/09/2012 00:22

Hi ladies, I'm new to all this too. 2nd month ttc and AF has just made a appearance Sad...5 days early!! (I had been trying to convince myself it was implantation spotting, but no)
I was 4 days late last month and had conjured up every possible symptom in my head, 6 BFNs and the AF appeared.
Now trying to figure out what length my cycle actually is?!? Confused
Here's to masses of good luck for us all

HannahJayne · 08/09/2012 23:11

Hello! Another newbie. Had Implanon removed on 16/8, and had AF as normal on the 26/8 - I think I'm now actually grateful that my AFs were really regular even on Implanon. I'm 30, got married to my school boyfriend in 2005, and have been pretty much obsessed with my job since, to the extent that we were pretty much 'never ever' people. DH pretty much completely put off kids by my SIL (one of those women for whom children aren't portable etc etc), but since our friends have started to have kids we've come around. Don't want to get obsessed with TTC, at least not for a few months, but have worked out my cycle and taking various vitamins just in case. Fx for everyone (ooh look, I learnt some of the lingo already, get me!!)

Added myself at the bottom of the list:

Bunny 32, married 2011, TTC since June, very irregular cycles

Hi new I got really confused with the acronyms too at the start! I thinks the main ones we use are DTD doing the deed, AF auntie flo (your period), poas pee on a stick, BFN and BFP big fat negative and positive, PG pregnant, FX fingers crossed. Think that's about it :-)

Hello girls,
I'm trying for the first time too. Am 29, been married for a year and had mirena iud taken out a month ago. Have only just joined mumsnet and not sure of what all the acronyms mean - dtd, is it doing the deed?! ( embarrassing if I've got that completely wrong!)
Good luck to everyone x

Congrats Hazle - very pleased to read your news - hope all these BFPs are catching!

I think I am going to go see my doctor this week, want to ask about my strange AF and maybe get some advice x

HazleNutt · 08/09/2012 09:06

For everybody trying, Fx, but I would certainly recommend some kind of ov tests or fertility monitor. Last month first I was away on a business trip and when I got back, then DH got sick, so we ended up DTD just once. But as it was on the right day according to my Persona monitor, all we needed apparently.

PuppyMummy · 08/09/2012 06:01

welcome zombies and other new people. we r getting quite busy.

congratulations hazle!
