Having recommended this fab little gadget for everyone ttc I wonder whether everyone who has now got one wants to join a thread and keep each other posted on our fern days etc?!

Find info \link{http://www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk\here}!

About me: Am ttc db2 but still bfeeding dd (9mths) about once a day. No af since giving birth so no idea if ovulating etc but have just started using my isis scope :o

afternoon guys!!well, still no sign of af (!!) so im waiting impatiently!i keep thinking that everytime i go to the loo i'll have started af,but nothing as yet!
pussycatmomma,i usually lick first thing in a morning and around 4.30 ish (usually when im getting tea ready so i can forget it!)also,i found that if you leave it for the 20 mins to dry,i was getting ferns, when id looked at it around 10 mins after licking, there was nothing but blobs!

Hi PCM,to answer your Q's

1.Think every woman has a slightly different ferning pattern, but they are all similar (like fingerprints?)

2.I check for cm (lovely!) but as I have had no af since dd was born I haven't bothered with anything else (oh, except some cheap ov sticks but they've run out now..)

  1. I lick mine 2/3 times a day, if I've managed to go the 2 hours without eating. Think you only need to do it once, but I'm a bit obsessiveBlush.
  1. Its meant to be 98% accurate I think, but it is possible to get slight ferning at other points in your cycle I believe which is why it is best to check at least once per day initially anyway so you can distinguish "fertile ferning".

hth. Have you seen Buffy's cool ferning picture on the member profiles?

pussycatmomma · 08/04/2006 21:13

hello bobblehead Smile
just to save me having to study this thread too closely.....few questions:

  1. Do you all get the same type of ferny patterns
  2. Anyone using other methods to check for obulation eg temping, persona, etc 3)How often do you use your isiscope in a day? do you do it every day, every few hours, or just when you think you might be coming up to ovulation? and
  3. Does anyone know how accurate the "looking for ferny patterns" actually is when it comes to determining fertile periods?????? hope to chat to someone soon! xxxxxxx
bobblehead · 07/04/2006 22:23

Hello Pussycatmomma! Must confess to lurking a little on the April threadBlushbut being too scared to join as you all knew each other, so know exactly what you mean!

Hope someone gets a bfp soon. I have little ferns still but don't think I'm going to obulate- must still be my hormones sorting themselves out.

pussycatmomma · 07/04/2006 22:07

Hello everyone, just wondered if I could join you? I had a few false starts with my isiscope thing, first one i recieved had a faulty light, but I got my new one in todays post and have been licking already to try it out Blush
Im not sure if i have "met" anyone on this thread before, i have been around the ttc threads since December. Im hoping the little ferny patterns will help bring along my bfp that little bit faster!!!!
Sorry to intrude, feels a bit strange as you all know each other by now.
Hope to chat to you all soon
Hugs, Pussycatmomma x x x x

When I tested last night I got ferns, but again this morning it was very tightly packed blobs/crystals. Does everyone else find they get better ferns at night? Can you get false positives on these things or does eating, etc. hide the ferns?

buffythenappyslayer · 07/04/2006 14:07

well,af due today, but not feeling any af pains now.so am keeping fingers and legs and anything else that i can, crossed!!!had tum ache the other day,but then was sick,so think its part of my bug.so im waiting patiently now.not going to get hopes up,but cant help feeling excited!!

Piffle · 06/04/2006 20:11

leave the top off and you'll go thru batteries like mad, I've been through the ones that came with it already in 3 weeks.

buffythenappyslayer · 06/04/2006 17:25

no,if you leave the top off!i cant see it drying it though as it wont get that warm.

Piffle · 06/04/2006 16:55

green light would not dry it as it goes off when you put the lid on :)

Piffle · 06/04/2006 16:55

leave it out to dry it I find is better

buffythenappyslayer · 06/04/2006 16:28

ive found that first thing in the morning,i got nothing but blobs.by afternoon,(usually id have a lick and put kids tea on and forget about it!) then id have ferns.ive always left mine out to dry but dh said the green light would dry it if you put the lens on(?) so dont know.af due tomorrow,so am feeling abit Sad incase i come on.
mrsbilly, sorry about your mc.i had mc last month.i didnt think id even obulate this month as thought body would take ages getting back to normal.but as you saw from pic,ive been obulating!!try doing the licking at differnet times of the day.i think tbh its taking over my life, ive become obsessed with getting pg again.after mc last month, doctor said there was no reason to wait before trying again, but she prefered if i did wait.i cant.think dh is getting fed up of me going on about how im feeling and how much i want another baby.my cousin told me she was expecting the same week i had mc,couldnt help but feel so jealous of her.to top it all ds brought home an animatronic baby for the night on the day id been to the doctors with the bleeding.felt so crappy about that!!
it will be hard when you see your sisters baby, but hopefully it'll be your turn soon!keep licking love!!xx

MrsBilly · 06/04/2006 16:13

Just wanted to clear this up too, does it matter whether you put the lens back in the holder to dry or should you leave it out?

MrsBilly · 06/04/2006 15:59

Just looked at Buffy's ferns, that picture rocks!!!

MrsBilly · 06/04/2006 15:57

I did the licking thing for my whole last cycle and got nothing but blobs, was gutted. Not sure I want to carry on with it now because am feeling worried that I won't get them at all!! Will try Piffle's top tips though. Would I be right in thinking sometimes you just don't obulate at all during your cycle? It's only 3 months since m/c but have some quite sad days, especially as my sister's baby is due next week. I've started worrying now I won't be able to hold him because it'll be too hard...Sad

Piffle · 05/04/2006 21:33

Wow your ferns look way different to mine!
Cool pic!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I'd done that!

bobblehead · 05/04/2006 19:04

bobblehead · 05/04/2006 17:05

Please post it Buffy! I have these tree like structures, not blobs, but not ferny enough to be ferns. Is this partial ferning? Or just lines?

buffythenappyslayer · 05/04/2006 16:49
