2WW - somebody please distract me from POAS

frustratedpants · 22/07/2012 09:05

Like it says in the title. Have hit the 2ww and really really need someone to distract me, or give me something to do to distract myself so I don't stupidly POAS because that would be a total waste of time and money at this stage

No real change of heart slattern. It's just if I think like that then I won't be sad.

SuperSlattern · 25/07/2012 12:49

Swimming thats crap. fx for next month.

Pipbin why the change of heart? I concieved my DD on clomid.

red I am crossing every finger/toe/everything I can for you Smile

mrsnec you sound a lot more restrained than me Smile

Well I'm over analysising every symptom.

So far I have;

Had cramps since last week

Ive had sore boobs for a couple of days

I feel like eating CONSTANTLY

The trips to the loo to pee every five mins have started

Ive also had a very small amount of nausea today

and I am shattered, although DD might be to blame for that one.

Someone please come and slap some sense into me Wink

Pipbin · 25/07/2012 12:13

So sorry to hear that Strong.

Decided last night that a don't want a baby at all. They would cramp my life style far too much. Wink

swimmingnotdrowning · 25/07/2012 11:57

AF arrived here today. So glad I didn't torture myself with poas which would have been bfn and still wondering if just maybe ..... Stay strong people!

mrsnec · 25/07/2012 11:12

Day 22 for me. I am tempted too! Don't think a week is a long time to wait. Wouldn't want to waste a fiver!

redstrawberry · 25/07/2012 10:59

lol im surely stepping away kitten infact handing out the same advice to everyone else :)

I like the way you put it though - today doesn't count and neither does friday.
Maybe I can do a countdown by hours ^^

Kittenkatzen · 25/07/2012 10:57

Don't do it red!!! You know it would most likely be a bfn anyway as it's probably a bit too early still - don't put yourself through the disappointment! Only two days to wait (today doesn't count as it's already started, and Friday doesn't count as it's poas day :o ) Step away from the sticks!

Agree that I have never found trips to the toilet so interesting before - yesterday I found the teeniest tiniest amount of what could possibly maybe have been sort-of ewcm and convinced myself it must be my month as I never normally get that around 9po. Doh. Think I have talked sense back into myself for now though.....

swimming that's another reason i haven't bought any tests yet - terrified i'll bump into someone i know!

redstrawberry · 25/07/2012 10:53

pants hold on...you can do it :) See if you POAS now and incase its a BFN (Hope not!) then you'll forever be wondering if you peed too soon and you won't be any better off knowing for sure.

Also if you conceived and implanted, its only after 13dpo that your HcG level start to rise and will be detected on a hpt. So best to wait till AF due or a few days late.

My will power is not so strong to wait beyond 1 day late. I hope I have convinced you to wait :)

redstrawberry · 25/07/2012 10:48

Its getting so hard to wait till Friday. This morning I had very strong cramps and I thought this is it AF is about to start. But so far nothing. I think my body is confused on whether to bring on AF and it might still be working out that I am pregnant. (I HOPE!)

I am promising I will not pee on the FRER until Friday. AF is due tomorrow. Really nervous to go to the loo - spend atleast 10misn checking my pants and analysing all the discharge! Blush who thought loo trips could get so interesting???!!

When are you due to test swimming...like the name change.

swimmingnotdrowning · 25/07/2012 09:29

Also intrigued by the embarrassed to buy pee sticks. I haven't ever bought any (and this is cycle seven so quite pleased with myself) but I imagine I will at least blush bright enough that you'll all feel the heat even if you're at the other end of the country or at worst meet my former boss in boots....

swimmingnotdrowning · 25/07/2012 09:27

Don't do it red. Don't do it. Stay strong. Only 48 hours. Think how many days you made it through so far. You can make it through another two (you're already part way through the first one).

(ps I name changed from hannahsarah)

frustratedpants · 24/07/2012 23:50

I think it's
red
puppy
kitten
pants and slattern

AF due in 6-7 days. Feel crampy and pms-y . Must not pee.

SuperSlattern · 24/07/2012 22:43

Ha ha Frustrated I used to live somewhere like that Smile

Step away from the sticks Wink

I'm a week down, one week to go :). Who is due to test first?

redstrawberry · 24/07/2012 22:19

I tried to get cheapies from sainsbury and boots but both were out of stock! Took that as a sign - I - mustn't - POAS - earlier - than - Friday Smile
Got excited by some tingly nipples today and want to POAS. But resisting as I only have the expensive ones at home!

Fx puppy , hannah, kitten and pants

frustratedpants · 24/07/2012 20:58

Not pee-ed yet. Mix of £5 note imagery and coming on MN to distract myself.
Have also ordered some tests of eBay so have to wait until they arrive. Too embarassed to buy locally. very much local shops for local people

hows everyone's holding off going?! I'm about 9dpo, trying to keep busy as I'm on hols at mo.

definitely won't be poas but wish sat would hurry up so I can see if af appears.

tum te tum taps fingers impatiently

hannahsarah · 24/07/2012 13:06

Thanks child. You have strengthened my resolve to hold out and I'm going to take your advice and assume AF on the way and totally not obsess at all. Ahem.

ChildOfThe1980s · 23/07/2012 20:07

Thank you! I am genuinely surprised.

I had sore and swollen boobs for the last two weeks, but that's exactly the same as what's happened for the last three months, so I didn't read too much into it.

I had period cramps when my AF was due, and the day after. I almost took paracetemol but didn't.

I noticed that I had a little CM yesterday and today, when I usually have none at this time of month.

For about two weeks, I have noticed an increased desire for carbs- and especially crisp sandwiches. I like the thought of these usually, but have eaten more crisps in the last two weeks than the past 6 months.

I haven't had any nausea, but felt a bit dizzy for the past two days.

The biggest hint by far was that yesterday I had a tiny amount of wine and felt instantly ill - for hours. It was what really made me think I may be preggo.

So really, the only non-AF symptoms have been in the last 2-3 days. Everything else is pretty much the same as AF - except for wanting carbs more.

hannahsarah · 23/07/2012 17:24

Completely agree with the breaking the seal analogy! Smile

Kittenkatzen · 23/07/2012 16:05

red it's not really determination I don't think - i have deliberately not bought any hpt's as I know they would sit there in the bathroom calling to me and I'd be poas at 6 dpo "just in case"! I'm thinking of it along the lines of "breaking the seal" when you're on a night out drinking - you know, that first wee after which you're off to the toilet every 5 mins. If I poas once I'll want to do it alllllllllllll the time, so I'm holding off as long as possible! :o

redstrawberry · 23/07/2012 15:14

yes child please volunteer some of your symptoms along the lines of what your CM changes were (if you kept track), sore boobage, nausea, cramps etc????!

redstrawberry · 23/07/2012 15:13

wow kitten thats very strong determination. I am faltering at waiting for a day late too. But completely understand where you are coming from.

The thing is if AF arrives, the pain is less as you know for sure you are not pregnant. With the BFN you always doubting if tested too early - theres stilla slight chance. So I have resolved to wait till a day later. My AF announces its arrival with spotting 2-3 days before. I am 3 days away and no spotting yet

Kittenkatzen · 23/07/2012 13:48

Can I join too please?!

I'm 7 dpo, af due next Monday. hannah I'm like you, have never poas before - too scared of the let down I think. Last month I was 4 days late and was just beginning to seriously consider picking up a hpt when when af showed up :( So this month I'm leaving it 5 days at least!

child please tell us any other symptoms you had so that we can all drive ourselves completely nuts look out for them! :o
