mower, I had a fair bit of dark red bleeding (watery) at 5 weeks, just after I found out I was preg. No cramps, just a few little gushes (sorry if TMI) and then it dried up, a couple of spots the next day, then nothing.

Now I'm 8 weeks and saw the heartbeat on the scan on Sat. Just from my experience, I'd say a miscarriage would have to be more, like a proper and very heavy period lasting at least a few days. If you have no more bleeding it may well be ok. I have my fingers crossed for you!

hope it turn s out okay for you , thinking of you I had an ealry miscarrige once but I also once had bleeding that turned out to be ds implanting so don't give up hope yet

mower · 03/03/2006 11:38

Just been to gp, gave me the talk that miscarrage is normal and is natures way, and that it may not be miscarrage. Said to just go home and if I bleed anymore to go to casulty, which I will do. Still feeling slightly sick, so hopefuly that is a good sign.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Piffle. I will make sure that I am not fobbed off. Was the miscarage you had 3 weeks ago an ectopic pregnancy?

Def get checked out for ectopic honey. Doctor should flag that up anyway, usually it involves a blood tests to see hcg levels and an internal scan to locate site of the embryo but they do not routinely scan before6 weeks.
If he tells you to sit and wait for bleeding to stop or start do not be fobbed off.
I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks 3 weeks ago, it was virtually pain free so pain should be investigated
Sorry I probably sound like a nutter mower.
I really do hope everything is ok for you

trace2 · 03/03/2006 09:47

glad you had a good sleep, please keep us imformed and i will keep my fingers crossed.

mower · 03/03/2006 09:43

Thanks for all your support last night. I managed to actually get a good nights sleep. Didn't bleed any more over night but have bleed a little more watery dark brown blood this morning (sorry TMI), but been feeling sick still this morning. Got period pain type things around where my c section scar is. Am really confused, its such a waiting game. Going to the dr later.

Ring NHS Direct and see what they say - probably they will tell you to ring your on-call at the surgery, as that is what I did. Then they may send you for a early scan if your pregnancy test was definitely positive. I went for two scans, and they told me you can come in again if you need to. And I said how bad should it be before I come in again - and they just said, if you're worried. So if I were you I;d ring your surgery. My pg was fine though even though I bled several times, but it was good to have the reassurance of the scan.

trace2 · 02/03/2006 21:39

here mower i will send you some glue, try and hold in place, good luck

Mum2OneAndOneMore · 02/03/2006 21:36

Mower i had a mc at 5.5 weeks mine started with very light spotting of light red blood & just got heavier & heavier, so as your has stops may be a good sign....

I wish you all the best just try & relax Smile

mower · 02/03/2006 21:31

Thanks for warning me, I shall be on the look out. Am trying not to be too sentimental about it and what will be will be. Have a lovely ds whos only 5 months, so have plenty of time for others. Just wish I would know one way or the other.

Thanks for your support though.

blimey piffle, thats awful, sure mower wont mind you warning her.

Piffle · 02/03/2006 21:22

mower a cautionary word hopefully not going to happen to you but to be aware
Watch out for one sided pain.
I had a bfp then the next day had a bit of dark red brown bleeding which settled after one trip to the loo.
At 3am I woke up in such agony, convulsed and was rushed to hospital, for emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. I was very close to not making it, with no warning.
So please keep an eye out - I do not mean to frighten but feel obliged to tell... Sorry..
I am really hoping that you are ok and that your pregnancy goes ok :)
