Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

We're still drinking but we have cut back.

Zeuxippe · 20/07/2012 16:11

thanks red

so can I just rely on checking ewcm to guess when I ov? or should I really be doing opks/temping to be sure when to stop popping those pills...?

redstrawberry · 20/07/2012 16:05

yep stick to epo only up to OV zeux supposed to cause contractions in the uterus after OV which you dont really want.

Zeuxippe · 20/07/2012 15:12

Re: alcohol, I stopped drinking one cycle before we're planning to start TTC (been on the wagon for 3 weeks now...aarrgh). But if it it takes longer than a couple of cycles I think I'll be needing Wine each time af makes its unwelcome appearance...

Other people who are taking epo/agnus castus - do you only take them for the first half of the month???

Right, I am coming over here. Think I will be out for July soon enough so should come meet the August crew! Some familiar faces too, August will be our month! It will!!!

kittykatsforever · 20/07/2012 12:24

Woody I find it's best not to put your life on hold, this is just personal preference as I find it gets too pressured and I think it actually effects the swimmers more then the egg but I have given up before and no joy, if you are worried about mc, I drank like a trouper up to about 8 wks with dd as I didn't know and she is fine and didn't last time as you don't really go out when you have dc and had been breast feeding and that's the time I mc so to me it's not helped or hindered

redstrawberry · 20/07/2012 12:17

hi woody I don't give up drinking before the 2ww - i don't drink much..only the occasional weekend a few glasses of wine. I try and avoid in the 2ww but i am going out tonight and will have a glass of vino. Cannot put my life on hold.

newbie I won't be adding myself to the list yet, testing next Friday 27th.
If AF arrives I'll update the list :(

woody17 · 20/07/2012 12:10

Please can you add me - cycle 7, bfp unknown at the moment

Can I ask if you are all drinking alcohol while ttc?

winkle2 · 20/07/2012 11:59

She feel preg when we were at uni and her kids are now 15 and 8!

grrrrr

Must start DTD this cycle soon!

i won't add myself to the list cause I have no idea what's going on with my cycle!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 20/07/2012 11:08

Just taken all my ttc vits and supplements.

pregnancy vits - so I have lots of folic acid & vit D
omega 3. - help brain development if I do get preg
agnus castus - might help regulate my hormones
Epo - for lots and lots of ewcm
1/4 aspirin - to improve blood flow to uterus (hoping it helps

implantation)

Right that's the vits sorted, have also managed to stear clear of chocolate and sweets for 6 days. A complete record for me, just goes to show how much I want to get pregnant.

lol I will try that tact aufaniae and kitty next time they try to offer their unwanted advice.

threeleftfeet · 20/07/2012 10:24

hi miarosemum :) this is my first month of charting (after trying-but-not-very-hard for a while) too.

miarosemum · 20/07/2012 10:20

can i just add even though on cycle 12 approximately, not really been 'actively' trying or timing ov, so thought best maybe start charting a little give us a better idea or when to dtd through out the month Wink

threeleftfeet · 20/07/2012 10:19

Perhaps she has issues imagining her DBro actually having wild passionate sex. If she brings it up again, how about you say "i can assure you that's not the case. Do you really want to know what your DBro and I get up to in bed"?!

miarosemum · 20/07/2012 10:18

can you add me, ttc cyle 12, af due 4 aug, on cd16. 30 day cycles normal

kittykatsforever · 20/07/2012 10:16

Red- could you not point out to her that while you realise she is trying to help/ reassure ( best words to say instead of f**k off) that you know she's been in a similar position and can she remember how anoying it got with well wishers and their relax comments?

redstrawberry · 20/07/2012 09:56

And the worst part is that she went through the same ttc emotions and would tell me how she hated people telling her to relax and enjoy sex. So for her to suddenly be so patronizing and insensitive just because shes now pregnant is making me so mad. Rant over.

redstrawberry · 20/07/2012 09:54

I am just still pissed off that my SIL who has been ttc for over a year, gone through treatments and drugs, now doesnt seem to stop bragging about her pregnancy and then turns around and is asking me to make sure my sex life isn't regimented (yes thats the word she used!!!) and telling me to enjoy sex. WTF! I didnt ask for her advice even once. I just feel irritated and angry with her that shes presumed my sex life is regimented or I'm not enjoying it! What a cow! Sorry but I am so pissed off about it.

kittykatsforever · 20/07/2012 09:48

I've added another July thread and answerd you there winkle, just for red and anyone left Smile

redstrawberry · 20/07/2012 09:47

continuing from the July thread......

my thoughts exactly winkle Arrrghhh! why do these women insist we are stressed or making sure we "enjoy" having sex. It's none of their effing business. I'm just so pissed with my friend and SIL too. I wish that rule was highlighted earlier on! I wish I had not told them we were trying :( They are supposed to listen not analyse. Why can't people just be good listeners these days, I didn't ask for their opinion or advice Angry

threeleftfeet · 20/07/2012 09:47

"Rule number one when trying for a baby - NEVER tell anyone you're trying for a baby!!"

Tricky though, isn't it? People keep asking me if we're going to have another.

I usually answer "well yes we'd like to but we'll see" which i hope hints that maybe we're trying without being too specific and that usually seems to be enough for them.

My best friends know we're trying, and they're good about it, they don't hassle me, but they do mention it from time to time - like if we talk about plans for next year they say "remember there might be a baby here"!

None of them try to give me well-meaning "advice" thankfully, that would drive me nuts!

winkle2 was she slightly merry? I remember my friends being so repetitive when I hung out with them when they were drinking, and I was pregnant. (Of course I was never like that when I used to drink lots before, oh no! Wink)

threeleftfeet · 20/07/2012 09:38

So that was a surprise! Got a +ve on the stick last night. It's only day 11 of my cycle. I have fairly short cycles (25 days typically), but I wasn't expecting it yet.

Actually the maths does add up. 11+14 =25. Doh!
(You're meant to ovulate 14 days before the beginning of your next cycle IIRC)

Although I thought the tests don't actually go +ve on ovulation though do they? It's the couple of days before, isn't it? Confused

DTD anyway, so fingers crossed :)
