Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

Hi Everyone! Can I jump on board please???
I had a MC earlier this month, and now am SO desperate for an August BFP! I think I have just ov'd, making me officially in the 2ww and therefore needing some Mumsnet distraction!! I have 1 year old DD who was conceived first cycle trying. And my recent MC was also first cycle trying, so fx equal luck this month!
Here are my stats:

jessie - Cycle 1 - BFP due 10th Aug

Now to read through 14 pages of posts. Looking forward to hearing about everyones TTC journeys!

kittykatsforever · 28/07/2012 08:18

Sunshine I am in envy of your shag enthusiasm, if the pregnancy award goes to anyone for dtd you'd win hands down lol
Whenshewas , feel for you, why does someone have to make a big announcement?? When it took us almost 2 years I still only told people via text and my mum passed the message around to family etc, as my sister often says, no one else cares lol

fatasbutter · 28/07/2012 08:13

Yes whenshewas I always like to be forewarned too!! Best to be super pleased and hug and then (still smiling) quietly slip away to do something like turn the oven up/down or realise u r suddenly desperate for the loo!! As long as u react really positively initially you can get away with these things! Good luck, and hopefully it's something completely different - maybe she won the lottery and wants to give you a million?????! Wink

SunshineOutdoors · 28/07/2012 08:08

Ah, whenshewas just think when it's your turn to tell everyone you're pregnant you'll do it in a better, more subtle, caring about others way
(I'm feeling a bit of a bitch this morning!)

It is good she's spoiled the surprise early though, at least you're having time to prepare.

Chin up all it will happen for us all. First testers middle if next week? I'm getting excited.

I've started doing Gillian michael's shred every other day to try to get fit. Dtd eod on the in-between days. It's good as it's making me look forward to the shag days as they're not shred days! Have found a new enthusiasm, even dtd on a shred day once this week just because I wanted a shag Grin

wishfulthinking1 · 28/07/2012 07:27

whenshewas - if you can avoid it, can you possibly be somewhere else when she makes this over dramatic surprise announcement? it's hardy a surprise if you all know it's coming, is it? or can you corner her by yourself earlier and say, "so what's the surprise then?"

Does anyone in family know you're ttc? Only thing worse than feeling shit about it, is everyone looking your way to see if you're feeling shit about it!! Hope she has something else surprising to announce... A new hairdo or something!!
X

Newbie2 · 28/07/2012 00:14

WhenShe ahhhh that is tricky! I find it better to know in advance...that way I can tackle my frustration and then find the strength to politely smile and carry on! I'm sure by Sunday you will pull a smile out the bag :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 27/07/2012 22:59

Argh. Found out today my cousin, who is visiting family this weekend, has a big surprise to announce when she gets here. Would put money on her being pregnant. That would make her the third pregnancy annoucement in 10 days.

Trying not to be Envy but it is getting really hard. Must start practicing happy face for Sunday.

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 11:28

auf it's amazing how we now spot every single thing goIng on in our body now isn't it! Hope is better then feeling down!

I am imagining pregnancy symptoms! (It's way too early and been here before.)

I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean!

Nice to imagine it could be true this month though :)

SunshineOutdoors · 27/07/2012 10:15

Hi fatas sorry you're feeling down.... start of cycle blues it will pass I promise Smile

To everyone on 2ww - STEP AWAY FROM THE STICKS!!!

A very big dark positive will be so much better than a creepy, unsure of itself line.

Positive thoughts to all of you. Wish I could wish you all pregnant

fatasbutter · 27/07/2012 09:57

Yes thanks winkle - hope you are also feeling better! Am still waiting for cd1 here as spotting pre-AF has been ongoing for 2-3 days now so may be tomorrow or day after and I can think about getting going again!!

Good luck to all those on the 2ww and any who need extra strength re not POAS too early - good tip wishful!

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 09:32

winkle hop you're ready to get winkling!

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 09:31

Interestingly because I have no AF and got a smiley last Sunday (which could have been a false alarm) I am still testing for OV which is taking my mind off the 2ww (I guess I don't feel like its a proper 2ww if I'm still checking for OV and DtD EOD).

OP posts:
winkle2 · 27/07/2012 09:26

Oh fatas :( Hope you're feeling better this morning.

Fingers crossed for you dexi and letsdothis

My monitor started asking for sticks this morning so here we go again Grin

Sorry for my woe is me post last night, I'd had 2 glasses of wine!

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 09:23

Wishful that's a very good tip :)

OP posts:
wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 08:53

Frustrated- yes,it's too early and you'll only drive yourself mental. Youre unlikely to get a positive (because it's too early) and if you get a negative you'll feel a bit shit, and not believe it anyway- a complete head fuck.

Step away from the toilet! A tip whe I get the urge- pee (to get rid of fmu) and then drink lots of water- no point in testing with diluted wee!

I know its hard xxx

frustratedpants · 27/07/2012 08:12

9dpo (but 5 days of AF) It's too early and i'd get a -ive if I POAS now, right?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 27/07/2012 07:52

Hi lets and dexi 7 & 8 dpo is where it really gets hard. I know what you mean about worrying about having a drink. It really won't matter at this stage though.

Dexidoo · 27/07/2012 07:31

We all definitely need to plan some lovely things over the weekend to keep our spirits up, either waiting for ov or on the 2ww. It is very easy to become maudlin.

I'm 8dpo and keep thinking about the possibility of using a FRER this weekend but I know logically this is a stupid idea and I should wait. I'm going out with a friend for lunch on Saturday and was worrying about whether I should have the usual couple of glasses of wine, again I know that this wouldn't do any harm but I don't feel very logical at the moment, the madness has definitely begun!

letsdothisthing · 26/07/2012 23:22

Hi everyone :)

I've been lurking around but haven't posted much - at 7DPO today so halfway through the dreaded 2ww - on the list for the 4th, but think I'm going to test next Thursday 2nd (if no AF) as will be away from DH for the Friday - Sunday so want to do it with him before I go, not feeling optimistic though!

fatasbutter · 26/07/2012 22:58

winkle I feel exactly the same this evening- have been crying a bit too Sad feeling sorry for myself Blush

kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 22:13

Well put sunshine!

winkle2 · 26/07/2012 22:13

I know I know :)

SunshineOutdoors · 26/07/2012 22:12

Sorry that was meant to try and cheer you up, not sound really depressing. It will happen, I'm sure, you just need to give yourself treats in the meantime. By the time ov's coming around you'll be ready to face it with a positive attitude
